Be Professional
Deliver more than your client asks for, always. If you go past their expectations on every job, you are going uphill fast. And, you are going to be like gold to that client, and they're never going to hire anybody else. So, that's huge. And, this is a funny thing, deliver content on time and in the format they ask for, you'd be shocked how hard this is for clients to find somebody who's gonna deliver what they said they were gonna deliver on time. Like, if you do that, you will be instantly in the top 10% of photographers in terms of coming through. I hear these stories, I'm just like ... How do they even make a living if they can't deliver on time what you asked them to do? So, that's a huge deal. Be nice to the people you're working with. You know, that's key. Gotta be a nice person, I think in this industry people aren't willing, art buyers aren't willing to put up with to much ego or attitude, at least in my world. I don't know how it is in different genres but ... You know, you go...
tta be easy to work with and realistic. And, I think I said it earlier, this is not a very forgiving career if you can't come back with what you said you were gonna do. If you can't do what you said you were gonna do, it's gonna catch up to your really quickly. You know, little mistakes here and there when you're starting out, no big deal. But, if you're an established photographer, and you blow an assignment that's got a fairly decent budget, anything over a couple thousand dollars, that's gonna catch up with you real quick. So, just make sure you're technically sound, you do what you say you're gonna do, and you come back and you surpass the clients expectations, then you're on your way. And, it's gonna go well, I think.

Robin Sebastian
I think that Michael makes creatives take off their rosey sunglasses and see the business of professional photography as it really is. You might not want to hear everything that he says but he shares some very honest and important information here that people coming into the business should only ignore at their own peril. Established photographers are probably in full agreement with what he has said here. This class is a must watch for any aspiring pro photographer! Four thumbs up!!
