Managing Orders and Communication Intro
1 When I started my freelancing journey, 2 I was charging slightly below the competition. 3 So I was charging slightly below 4 what other sellers were charging. 5 And I wanted to build up my portfolio. 6 After I built up my portfolio, 7 that's when I started increasing my prices. 8 But that really helped build momentum, 9 and it also allowed me to build good relationship 10 with these buyers. 11 And as I started growing, the buyers also started growing. 12 And eventually, you know, as they grew and I grew, 13 we kind of formed a longer partnership. 14 (light rhythmic music) 15 Buyers are on Fiverr because they need something done. 16 They either don't have the time or expertise 17 to get the job finished themselves. 18 Your job as the seller is to identify what their needs are 19 and offer a solution to them. 20 For example, if the buyer is telling me 21 that they need a logo, 22 an experienced seller would say, 23 "Sure, tell me a little bit more about your business 24 and how I can...
help you." 25 An amateur could say, "Sure, a logo design is $5, 26 and I can get it finished for you in five days." 27 Do you see the difference? 28 The experienced seller is trying to understand 29 what the buyer needs, 30 while the amateur seller is trying 31 to just make the quick sale. 32 You need to figure out why the buyer came to you 33 in the first place and what are their pain points.
