12. Lightroom: Auto Adjustments

The auto adjustment button may not make your image art gallery worthy, but it’ll get close. Jared shows how to maximize the capabilities of Lightroom and how to work your image after it’s auto-adjusted.

Lightroom: Auto Adjustments

And we're gonna start with the original image. Once we've selected an image, if we just double click it, it will show it to us in its full large view. And then we come over to the right-hand side where all of our adjustments are. I'm gonna click on this little adjustments button, and that opens up all of our adjustment options. The very first thing that you should do on all images is click on this little auto button. Now I know that sounds weird, because most of the time auto doesn't seem to work on anything. But inside of Lightroom CC, the auto button is a very intelligent tool. It's actually using machine learning to do this. So you can click on that with a lot of confidence. So I'm gonna click on the auto button and see what it does to our image. There we go. It did a great job at maintaining the sky. It did a great job at filling up the shadows, so bringing the shadows up. So we have a really good starting point for our image just by clicking that auto button.

I wish more people would present this way! Each step from beginning to end demonstrated in short, concise and useful actions. Every tool and technique is something that I either use, (now better) or will start using because I now understand how to use it efficiently. I highly recommend this course!

Finally, a video tutorial that taught me what I've known on basic level and truly explore how to use it properly and what everything means. I've been waiting for something like this for awhile now. Greatly improves my technique now so thank you for this!
