What You Know to Be True
Now we're going teo talk about what you know to be true for module nine this is in your workbook on page twenty four what do you know to be true for example I know that people are happier when they do work that they love and makes them feel appreciated and I feel like this world would be so much of a better place if we were all happy with the work that we got to do because we spend so much of our time on it people would just be so much more fun to be around we'd be less stressed and this helps me when I am working on my business because I know this to be true and if somebody else doesn't know doesn't believe that that's true then they're also not the right person for me what are your beliefs? I believe that healthy competition breeds success my talked about in the chat room how you don't want to play monopoly with me because I am super competitive I I really do believe that healthy competition can help people and that's why in courses before I have had little competitions for the peopl...
e who are in the courses if you participate the most if you attend the live calls if you get feedback to other people they're gonna be prizes at the end and then it also gives people a little bit more encouragement to do that kind of stuff and I really believe that it helps the course I know it does I know it does what truly motivates you one of the things that motivates me are naysayers that say things like you shouldn't follow your passion that's so dumb when somebody when I read a block post like never ever ever follow your passion ever ever ever I'm thinking you motivate me to do my work and they dio I've read a block post like that before and that made me right the very first block post that I wrote about why you should follow your passion and then somebody wrote a block post that I read that talked about why if you include multiple passions in your business you're going to fail and I thought I'm gonna write a block post about why it's going to help your business succeed and so people like that when I read a block post that I don't agree with it helps me get motivation and really helps me stick to my guns and write something that people are because when you're like wavering it's not as it doesn't hit people as hard blogged posts you sometimes you have to pick a side not always but those were some of the things that really help my business what I know to be true my beliefs and what motivates me and these are just examples of some of those things I'm motivated by a lot of other things besides people who don't believe the same thing as me but I wanted to share some examples with you guys if you want to share in the chat room what you know to be true some of your beliefs what motivates you anybody want to share any of any other answers that's amanda you see people succeed like that really motivates me when I see somebody who maybe they're like yeah I could never ever ever ever do that and then I see them like how that little spark of hope for me that's like uh like I wantto help youto like just you know do everything so that really for me is a huge motivation yes that's it that's a big one for me too one day I was having when I was working on this course I was just having one of those blah days you know that we all have and I got an email from somebody who said who I hadn't worked with in a while and I did some one on one work with and she said you know I'm I'm getting the results that I wanted and I just wanted to say thank you so much because it's due to working with you and finally putting those things into action that did that and that day I did some really good work on these courses because it mode it gave me that motivation yeah so I'm with you I get you anybody else I know when I look at what I know to be true, I really think that people are empowered and make change when that light bulb goes off and I re really got that experience when I was in the classroom teaching students I was a fourth grade teacher and that's for my website name came from teach good stuff I had a student I was teaching them the persuasive writing process and as china have them persuade the principal teo extend the recess that was helpful for them as well wait, what about my students stood up and he said miss kennedy, you teach us some good stuff on in that moment I realized it's not just your words and your ideas and how you say it but it's how it's received by the other person on the other end and what that feels like to them and what that enables them to dio because they've learned something different so that is very powerful for me and how does that impact your business as I'm looking at it? I really want to try to incorporate those lightbulb moment so those pieces of information those little tidbits that can really just help someone move forward or think about something differently and in the hopes that they do make that change or they continue on with what they're doing or they look at creating courses or teaching in a different light I get where are we having anybody share anything online? Chris? Yeah, we are jewels dolly in the chat room says what motivates me is to surround myself by positive people, role models, books, magazines, students that are positive and a clean creative space casing says I'm motivated by trying to solve problems for others through eighteen media says success definitely motivates me seeing project succeeds, seeing happy clients getting the results that they want forward movement and action and creativity like all of those thank you guys for sharing in the chat rooms, by the way and in the audience, I love it when you share your answers with me. So are these truth built into your business? Are they built into your business? Because when these pieces fit together, they make a business that is truly unique. So the things that you just wrote down are they a part of your business? And if they're not, what can you do to make sure that there are part of your business? What makes you feel really good about yourself? Is this a part of your business? Things that make me feel really good about myself are creating helping, others speaking, teaching those things make me feel really good, like after I leave creative live, I'm going to be on a high for like a couple of weeks. Because it makes me feel really good about myself, the fact that so many of you guys sin tweets and facebook posts and emails and tell me how it helped you, it really motivates me, and it makes me feel good. So I make sure that I incorporate lots of the stuff that makes me feel good into my business that's gonna wantto it's going to make me want to do more of that, and I think that each business decision should be guided by your truths, beliefs and values. So when you have people often ask me, how do I decide what to say yes to well, first visit align with this kind of stuff, so it might mean saying no to running of course, again, just for more money I have done that, I have said, no, I'm not going to run this again even though I've already put in all the time and effort into creating it all the content is done, people have asked me for it again, I could do it and make more money, but it didn't align with everything turning down marketing opportunities because our values don't align. I don't know about you guys, but I get people asking me all the time to promote their stuff to put advertising up, even though I say that I don't do any advertising to write sponsor posts to be a part of something that they're doing to market their stuff and if it doesn't align with my truths, beliefs and values, I automatically say that it's a no, and if it does align with it, then I look at my calendar and see if it fits in, because also I want to make sure that I'm making time for the right stuff. And so if somebody asked me, for instance, for an interview and it really matches up with all of the stuff that I have going on, would I believe to be true? Who it's going to be helping? And I don't have a lot of interviews lined up, I'll say yes, but if for instance, sometimes I will say I'll say yes to one interview a month if I've already got those interviews lined up, then I say I would love to, but I can't because of our I'm already booked with that kind of thing, not working with customers who don't share similar beliefs. I have really learned some lessons from this one before because I'm working with the wrong people. We don't share the same beliefs and this often happens in the beginning when I wasn't being enough of me, so people didn't truly know who they were working with, and so I would end up working with the wrong person I love to like how we were talking a little bit about this and how when you come from a place of lack, things don't work, and when you come from a place of abundance, they do and, you know, and you can trust that. So I just love that you believe that there will be plenty for you if you pass up something that doesn't feel right, you know? Yes, absolutely, I love that you bring that up absolutely more things, they're going to be coming along and whatever you do, say yes to your saying no to other stuff, and it the know could just be relaxing at home watching movies, but when you say yes to something, you're saying no to other stuff, so say yes to the right stuff. What business decisions have you made from following your truths, beliefs and values? And have there ever been decisions that you knew weren't aligned with your values? But you made it anyway. Why? What happened? This is the kind of stuff that helps us remember not to make the same mistakes again, and I have had to learn the hard way before. So what decisions have you made? Because you're following this stuff? What decisions have you kind of screwed up on because you weren't paying attention to it?

She is a true professional in terms of her knowledge and experience and yet her presentation skills are fun and enjoyable to watch. This course is chock full of valuable and much needed information, and it is well worth your time and money to watch and invest. April, I purchased your class and I love what you have created. The workbook helped me to identify key points that I needed to think about. I have had a business for a while now, and I wanted to give my shop and blog a fresh look. I certainly got exactly what I was looking for in your videos and most of all with your fabulous hand-outs and workbook. Your style is A-dorable and although I am 66 years old, I am never too old to learn something new. April, you will always be successful in everything that you do because your passion is contagious. Thank you. I am sitting here this morning with a notebook and your workbook. You have helped me identify points about my business that I was overlooking. By going through the process, I feel wonderful about my products and have a new outlook. You are amazing! Karen
