What You Stand For
What you stand for companies that people fall head over heels in love with have at least one thing in common they know what they stand for and value, and they build a business around that when they stop making sure that everything aligns with those main values, their customers become dissatisfied and wonder what the heck happened? Have you ever had been ah fan of our brand and then all of a sudden they start to change things and they it seemed like they were built on one thing and now all of a sudden they're not and it doesn't feel good anymore. Yeah, and then you're not loyal to them anymore emotional points of difference, the things that are less obvious and sometimes not even articulated matter. They show people that you care, they mark out brands that stand for something shaped cultures and create followings of loyal customers and brand advocates that no amount of advertising can buy. This is from the book difference that I have mentioned before that I really love it seems like a r...
eally small book, but it's packed with value and I love this quote because it's so true so let me give you some examples apple stands for intuitive, beautiful design, right? That's one of the this is just one of the things that it stands for one of the things that first popped into my head when I was thinking about these particular brands, warby parker stands for shopping for glasses being easy, fun and affordable. Warby parker has changed my relationship with glasses immensely I love them so much I feel like I could not live without them at this point I have lots of different pairs and even though I've worn the same pair during my courses, I have other pairs that I feel like, oh, these air cute with this outfit like I can change my eyewear depending on what I'm wearing and how feeling because they make it affordable, they make it easy and they make it fun but so that's something that if they changed, I wouldn't love them anymore. So for a stands for rewarding loyalty, satisfying customer service in sampling before buying, I love this about so for I know that if I take a product home and I don't love it, I could go back in and say I didn't love this and there they say no problem here's your money back, they don't even ask questions like you, you don't even want you, you don't even run there like we will just give me your money back it's no problem, I love that they reward loyalty I try to always buy my products from sephora first because I'm building on my points I'm going to get free stuff once you spent a certain amount you become a v I p member you get all of these perks, you get free shipping on anything. Your order doesn't have to be a certain amount. There are all these things that go into it that make me love before so very much what I stand for. I stand for empowering creatives with high quality content, whether it be free or paid. One of the things that I think about constantly when I am trying to put out content, is that no matter whether people were getting it for free or whether they're paying for it, I want it to be high quality. I wanted to be helpful. I stand for creating a welcoming, supportive environment no billy's allowed that is a big one, like if I have a private facebook group and somebody's being a bully, you're out because everything is about being a welcoming, supportive environment. I want my website to feel like that. I don't want it to feel clicky like you're not a part of the cool kids kind of thing I wanted to feel as if you come there and no matter what's going on where you're at in your business, you're part of things I stand for business, being fun, there's somebody who thinks that it should be not so much fun, you're not my person. Like if you just do it for the money and you don't do it because you want to have fun doing it, then you're not the right fit for me. I stand for creating business around the life you want to live, not just around the money you want to make the money is important goodness knows it's important, but I really believe that if you set up your business around the life that you want to live, you're gonna be so much better off for doing what you love and you're putting the effort into it. It's gonna work the money's gonna follow I've seen it time and time again. So these were the things that I stand for in my business and I think about them when I'm making business decisions I think about them whenever I'm creating something new I wanted to align with all of these things your turn what do you stand for? What do you value? Consider this when making business decisions. So in your work, buck, you can write down what you stand for what you value and I would love for somebody to come up here and work through this with me while people are writing in their workbooks come on, all right, where can we find you online? At jenna and company dot com okay and you guys can keep jotting down as you come up with things and in the chat room tell us what you stand for in the chat room because I'm gonna ask you so share ok, so what do you stand for? I stand for empowering women to have the kind of life that they really want and power of women have the life that they really want and that starts out as girls too so it's really so important that I want my block to be something for moms to be able to share with their daughters as well because I want young girls to be able to embrace their adorably quirky selves without worrying so hard about fitting in I want them to know that they're already awesome the way that they are and growing that awesome is what's going to make their life happy okay, so what does that mean specifically for your business? Do you think um so I want everything that I do and everything that I produce to be around making girls and women feel good about themselves. All right? Do we have anything else that's a great thing to stand for I think we can all say that that's an amusing thing we've got a audience it's full of women here they were all like yes that's awesome. Do we have anything else to add to that um, I just think that so the whole reason that I started the blogger was because I feel like I'm unordinary girl I'm every girl and I, uh went through ah, hard time spending a whole lot of years doing things that didn't make me happy because I was so busy trying to make other people happy and it took a long time to get brave, and so I want people to know that if I could be brave, you can be brave and so let's do this together and that's why I call it jen and company because you're my company, you're already my b f f let's do this girl like I got your back, we're going to make your life grades I'm working on making my life great let's all like, put ourselves first, I love it does not make you feel like gives you all the fields, right? You're excited about seeing what that what's gonna come out of that hope? Yeah, yeah, that's exciting and remind us of the product that you're going that you have been working on. So I want to start a printable shop with inspiring prints, so I'm all about that they be pretty but funny and sassy, too, so kind of some of it will be sort of silly, but it'll all be shiny and gold and lots of glitter because you know, I think that would be fun. I also think it be really fun if there was a line for younger girls that had maybe some more hand drawn stuff, maybe a little bit of a cartoony young feel to it a little, but still keep it. I think it be interesting to see, because I still wanted to be recognizable as my brand, so that would be kind of something I need to learn to incorporate so that the different pieces still go together. But I'm thinking, why can't this also be in your locker? It can be, you know, this print can be hanging in your home office because you're a young woman entrepreneur, it could be hanging in your cue because you have big dreams and you know, you're either working on them outside of work or you're working towards you know, you're perfect career, and and you're remembering that every day they are taking baby steps towards it, and like I said, maybe it's maybe it's in your locker or maybe it's in your room and you're a young girl and it's it's already cool to be me it's already cool to be me, I don't have to be you to be cool, I'm doing it? Yep, yep, I love it, I wish I would've had those kinds of messages when I was younger, I absolutely dio and you came up with this product to during a previous course on creating products digital products that cell while you sleep if you're wondering how she came up with this product idea and work through it thank you so much for sharing what you stand way have happening online anybody sharing yeah we do of people sharing in the chat room pretty much is the screen name who says I stand for celebrating everything about life from the small little successes to the huge life events super, cara says I stand for helping crafters gain confidence in their skills and themselves. Courtney end says I stand for inspiring others to dream big and go after your big crazy dreams life is too short to not be happy and sasha cordova says I stand for being friendly to the environment, personal high quality products, simplicity and minimalism. I like how specific the last one wass the more specific you can get, the more unique it's going to be so work with whatever you've written down and keep fine tuning it a little bit more a little bit more as you move forward and add to it so the more that you have, I think the better I mean you don't want to go crazy, but if you have a handful of things that you stand for, it starts to really set you apart

This week I watched April's course and was riveted by her presentation and the volume of content she provided. She is a true professional in terms of her knowledge and experience and yet her presentation skills are fun and enjoyable to watch. This course is chock full of valuable and much needed information, and it is well worth your time and money to watch and invest. April does an outstanding job in all of the courses she offers, and once you become a fan of hers you will be a fan for life.

April, I purchased your class and I love what you have created. The workbook helped me to identify key points that I needed to think about. I have had a business for a while now, and I wanted to give my shop and blog a fresh look. I certainly got exactly what I was looking for in your videos and most of all with your fabulous hand-outs and workbook. Your style is A-dorable and although I am 66 years old, I am never too old to learn something new. April, you will always be successful in everything that you do because your passion is contagious. Thank you. I am sitting here this morning with a notebook and your workbook. You have helped me identify points about my business that I was overlooking. By going through the process, I feel wonderful about my products and have a new outlook. You are amazing! Karen
