Shoot: Bride & Groom Photo Session

So here's, where we start working with the bridegroom and the broader party, and we're going to demonstrate some running room stuff for yeah, so we don't have a bridal party, which is okay, because I like working with the writing room a little bit more, eh? So what's gonna happen is, robin, I do a sort of tag team thing with this is, well, I'm setting up shot that he's either picking off and just getting different angles and getting the motion behind them or I'm going to set something up to things that I need to do while he goes and finds something that he wants to do, and I know that rob one to go up to the balcony and he's going to get a shot from there on dh shooting down. So while he does that, I'm actually already set for that silhouette that I was telling you about, so I'm gonna do some silhouettes with them right here. Biggest pet peeve of mine and silhouettes is the fact that windows have pains. The last thing I wanted is in the soul what is to have that thick pane going throug...

h their heads? So what I'm gonna do, you guys, uh, demon, you're going to stay on this side here and turned towards dawn and you're gonna walk right up tim don and just like that get a little closer to each other you're going to hold hands and touch foreheads on you know what? Actually demon take a little step backwards there you go good and don't walk right up in towards him and oh my gosh, I just absolutely that I have my fifty on here right now we're just going to get a nice little letter than I love that silhouette and again just getting different angles for the album my clients like different angles, I also I also think of the things that I sell to my clients when I do this, I sell canvas splits and one of the ways that they split isn't a four quarters, so if you look at that picture that I just took, I have put them in the lower right corner there so that if they do decide on the canvas split, I've given them an image that they can use for that so just a nose to nose guys beautiful and then I've got my silhouette and I want to change that I want to change to expose for their faces, so I've boosted my risotto one thousand my appetite to two point two and use my live you on my white balance is fifty one hundred looks good and guys just touch foreheads and close your eyes there beautiful and this way I could get a totally different type of shot get a nice full length as well beautiful all right and rob, how you doing up there alright, you're working on the wire so perfect so I'm here I'm here I'm going to change your positions and robin I've communicated I know exactly what he's planning on doing something to start getting them into that position so you guys are going to do is stand over here on do we have here? Okay by chance okay, we'll grab that in the second, so don't take a little step backwards and do you know you're gonna take a step towards her as well love that and you can actually both of you face me one she grab hands perfect just like that and you know I don't have a little bit of your dress that's really cute on you know it instead of holding hands once you put your hands in your pockets and just walk up to him and grab his album kind of hold him this way they're like that a little bit better that way you made him look out the window and you're going to look right at him and again I've changed my my light here so I am going to change things I'm going down dropping my isa so I'm gonna have you look out the window demon and don you're looking right at him you could turn your head a little bit more towards a window there you gotta love that perfect and get a little closer I kind of like you're going to snuggle up on his nose it is super cute love it very very cute nice and to take a little step towards me don on you do the exact same thing I just wanted your face that let's get nice and close there you go and you're tuned head all the way out that way perfect now see some of the light in your eye beautiful love that and then just close your eyes and touch your forehead to hiss and you're still looking out that way that is gorgeous love that you take a little vertical their little band of skin it goto one point eight here to get a little bit more late on her face perfect and just looking for rob how you doing? Good we're just clearing out this little area right here we're gonna put them right down in the middle of the floor they're going down there all right so I'm gonna let you guys start walking through water on the wires there watch the wires so what I've done up here is you know, while vanessa was shooting and I was just kind of considering what I would like to get for my fusion piece in terms of cinema in terms of video clips and I thought I'd just be really nice to get a nice high angle up here considering that we're you know, it's raining outside it's seattle way weren't able to work outside the weather's a little bit gloomy, so we're just kind of making do with what we had but you know, that's part of what we do is making the best out of what we what we're given and what we're given here is over beautiful wall of nice natural light and we have a nice dark wood and very antique looking venuto work with and we're going to use that to our advantage so I thought up here this would be a nice vantage point. Vanessa, can we just clear that one wire out just so it's not like writing little floor there, yeah, I got that coming away and so you'll be able to see on the screen in a second here want to get my focus, what we're gonna do and from my lovely couple what I'd love for you guys to do is dance, so you're just going to kind of like, yeah, you're gonna spin her out, bring her back into you and hold yeah, you just gonna keep doing that just have some fun while I shoot and I'm just gonna start rolling here and then pull her in towards you love that kind of sway side to side gorgeous it's kind of really nice and slow movements because she's got a tail behind her love that dies you go a little bit more towards the window also just a touch there you go that works beautiful love that yeah and these become really great shots for mia's well be able to catch this kind of emotion and moments just yet well, venice is doing that I'm just getting some smooth shots trying it and robs using a slider up there if you guys concede he and using that foreground again you've got these really great I believe their brass railings and you're just using them that's for ground. This is a fifty millimeter lens that I'm using right here and I just got it on the slider and I can't really see my settings right now we're in live yeah, I don't see them down here I'll stop the camera for a second get the settings for you this way you have an idea where fifty to eighty, five hundred on the so that's a nice place to be and you know what you guys can do is just kind of get close in it's not the word that, uh vanessa invented love it's no good and that he was gonna do one more just like a slave and have it good I'm pretty happy with that, all right, all right so we're going to move into a different location with a little bit more natural light where we can play with the veil on day two of them so like rob said it is raining out here so it's a little bit not really limiting because seattle has like eternal soft box because you're usually having the sun shoot through clouds so we're going to go off into a littler room over here that has a beautiful light and has some steps tower we can get for an angle from writing groom get kind of a down angle and then after that we will walk into our ceremony so guys we're just going to take a walk write to that room over there and I will bring all my chords with me area and think and robin I often work in tight spots so this is a good example of that uh I'm not sure how much I'm just missing slack I have way we're still going yeah it's a nice little room yeah I'm just going to need more slack on this tether here um I don't know if I can make it go any more so what I'm gonna do is let that go while I set up the bride and groom in here and I'll come grab that tether back again so come come follow me all right so you guys are going to take a step down here on dh we're going to remove this beautiful red you want us to be a no, but now I know isn't it beautiful? Let's keep this so yeah, the soft light that's coming in here is really great and what I'm going to do, um, that's perfect actually take a little step towards me cement and you're just going to turn towards each other just right where you are. I love that we're going to play with your available you can just put one hand here, get nice and close. You put your hands around her waist and we're going to actually, you know what turned you guys a little bit more this way, so I want a little bit more light on don's face keep coming right there. Nice. I'm just gonna put this around them because from rob's angle, I know that he's going to get a nice, soft look out of that. So I'm just going to set my exposure. You set my white bounds first, which is about thirty, eight hundred. I'm going to my I s so and you know, I would love my reflector right now, but in the meantime I have eight hundred on my s o one hundred on the shutter and two point two on my aperture there's the tether, all right, listen here's to you guys and see what's going on all right, so I'm gonna have you do I love a team where you're looking just kind of put your head down and you're gonna look right around there and then don't you're gonna lean and towards me a little bit more and lean your head on him but keep your eyes down that direction gorgeous way here we go a little bit dark actually changed my shutter there we go love that we're gonna turn try to get more window light here nice and then don't you're gonna look at that me and you can chin up a little bit more there just gonna warm this up to about forty one hundred little cold and just close your eyes you turn had more towards the window close your eyes there beautiful there is the light of looking for a nice steady just like that I'm going to back up a little bit really pretty window behind them and then you're just going to put your eyes up towards me so hopefully that did the trick sorry guys it's a little logistically a little tough but we're trying to do that again and I'm just living the white kind of you want to ever come back the audience see the shop once perfect and I said to me don't love that perfect and they can come the other way for rob just like you were just a minute ago that's nice, good and yes smuggling works that's a good word love this shot nice good going over my aperture maurin to stop down just so I know I just change exposures wife while filming but I did that knowing that I'm not going to use that part so go to decide again guys yeah that's a nice really pretty good I'm really happy with the shot are you seeing it on the monitor there monitor there uh believe ok, we're not getting rob's future so while we're doing that, I'm going to do a couple more you guys hold on, hold on. I really wasn't working out it's working now and I really want to see this so we're I'm sorry guys, we're just going to the same thing now that we can see you is on the monitor out there now and it's really pretty guys like that. So this little subtle motions I'm not moving the camera just kind of letting them be the motion I couldn't go back to his shoulder again and really pretty rob is actually if you could see him just noticing the stability and all the points of contact that he has he has the mono pod is actually on his knees, which can tend to be a little bit more stable sometimes and even on your feet that has both hands on there and also the arm of the modified underneath his arm to really stabilize, you see, panning away looks really good, too. Got nice. Foreground there that really lead in leaves it the shot and the viewer up into them. Really pretty okay, yes, all right.

Worth every penny and then some! i just purchased the course and can't stop watching it. I normally don't give such high praise, but these guys turn out a very high end product and are so efficient with their workflow. The class was so full of information, they walk you through the process step -by-step, and take the fear out of photo and video fusion. I can see how the thought of adding video to your workflow can be intimidating, but Rob and Vanessa do an amazing job of simplifying the process and showing you which programs and scripts will make your life easier. This is THE photo and video fusion course to buy if you are contemplating adding video to boost your sales. Great job and thanks to Creative Live for finding such great instructors!

They were good as 'teachers'.Well organized. Rehearsed!! but they are also good at selling. I think this whole course was a big Ad campaign in a way for their sponsors like Animoto and especially for Their actions!! It actually turned me off. Felt like they were trying to sell me something- A live infomercial. Nothing against their work though. They gave you just enough info and tips but the rest really depends on their fusion actions and your skill. They Definitely get you excited to create your own though!

Excellent presentation. In your presentation you modeled appreciation, support, affirmation and humility in a way that was inspirational. These characteristics together with a depth of knowledge in your topic area gave it huge integrity. Thanks!
