Cavalier: Puppy on Floor Laying on Muslin
All these eyes are looking very, very sleepy, here. They're starting to get very heavy and relaxed. (laughing) That was my toe. (laughing) (puppy growling) This little one is starting to go off, here. And I think this one is... (mumbling) (puppy growling) You want this one? This one's the naughty one. This is the cheeky one. (laughing) And this little one, here. (whispering) I'm whispering, I don't know why I'm whispering. (laughing) You can feel her really relaxing down, here. Yeah, they're starting to close down. This one's still biting my toes. So, while this one's going off to sleep, I'm actually not interacting with it too much because it's just come and laid down on its own accord, and I don't wanna overstimulate it, anymore, so I'm just. Ow. I can't remember if this is a little boy or a girl, so. This is a little girl? So, while she's drifting off to sleep, there, I don't want her to think it's time to play, again. (whispering) Well, I think I'm gonna do something ju...
st really simple, here, get down low. Hi. You're not gonna wake up this little one. Come over here. You two play. (soft banging) So, we tend to move them the exact same way we do with babies, making sure they're nice and supported. (puppy yelping) I'm just gonna turn her around towards that light a bit more. There we go. (puppy whining) (whispering) So, I'm just trying to curl that bottom half up a little bit, there, and I'm just tucking that wrap in, underneath, to do so. (puppy whining) Same with... Human babies. I always like to get my safe shot, then come in and make a little change. (camera beeping) (camera clicking) My gosh, the colors are just so beautiful. (laughing) (puppy growling) So, I'm just looking for that little paw underneath the face. I just wanna try and get her little face up a bit higher so I can see it. There it is. I always find, too, like puppies this age, you can see how much they interact with each other. So, when they're sleeping like this, some of them can sleep through absolutely anything because they're used to having brothers and sisters climbing all over them. (laughing) There we go. So, I'm getting both paws out so I can see them. It is pretty much the best job, ever. (puppy growling) (camera beeping) (camera clicking)

I am not a photographer. I do compositing using Photoshop and was interested in seeing how they set up and pose such lively subjects. Such care was taken with the puppies and I learned a lot about getting just the right poses using different setups like muslin, bowls, etc. For compositing, it's important to know what you are looking for in order to bring images together correctly. This course, besides being fun to watch, has helped me, even if my images don't wiggle as much as these puppies.

I loved everything about this class!! It was so obvious by the handling and the way you interacted with the puppies how much care and thought goes into the artwork you created. I'm so excited to put all of your ideas into my own creativity. Thank you for providing me with the inspiration to move forward with pet photography!
