Shooting Wedding Party & Family

so what is going on right now is we're waiting for laura and the girls to come back in for their bridal party shows um I wanted to originally shoot outside but the light is changing just too much it goes from overcast to sonny in a matter of a couple of seconds and working with a large group I just feel like you would just get out of control so I'm gonna bring them back into um alighted situation that I feel comfortable with the lighting that's hitting us from the side windows and just the indian lighting here works really well I'm gonna try to do too posey's too formal poses and then laura with each individual girl will try to rock that out hopefully intend to twelve minutes we'll just kind of kind of see how that goes so here we go you ready I'm gonna have you standing center and I'm gonna take your dress some of it behind you perfect so I'm going to start with amanda on this side and then I'm going to do girls two and three I'm sorry what did they say amanda I don't know and then I'...

faces some doesn't turn them in towards me is very hot in here so deal with me as I just slept my way through it you forget beautiful ladies okay laura do something to you okay that's awesome that's got one formal bridal party picture when casual body picture went a little bit funkier both the girls and the guys we did all of their immediate families both individual what's a bride and her parents both individual with the groom and his parents immediate family we will determine we're gonna do extended family pictures after the ceremony but right now laura will have an opportunity just to kind of soak in their day and daniel is here where are we gonna hide the bride here oh in the confessional yes okay you're gonna be speaking during that time and if so then we will put her back here well I don't mind if she's in a confessional with me like I'm anything can as together you know so I'll probably make my way to the obsessional right now but when you wanted teo is totally um probably one takes take a west drinks water we apply make up you know like lips and everything they're gonna know they're good um you want to take a walk you don't ask any questions I might but can you guys get it it's ready and these details can all be photographed as well and um I don't think I will because we both shots I don't handles aren't perfect and they're not where I kind of like want them to be in relations everything but because it's not raining what about the cops our people gonna I want him out okay great goal okay we're gonna stand shin off anyway the problem is getting them from the bar but we'll probably just lead them around okay that sounds great now janey you were gonna do a group shot after in order to get everybody out what's wrong you look so what is wrong with you you look so to desert no flip this room so this is currently both the ceremony and the reception site once this ceremony is done caught so our will begin we want everybody out so everybody can come in and do the quick work that they need to dio and in order to do that daniella has thought of the idea of bringing everybody outside for a group shot now logistically it's going to probably rely on j d for the group shot where is he going to stand teo get that angle to get everybody in that shot and where is the shotgun toby that's up to you guys you tell me where you want the shot with my goal would be to get the efficient to say everybody please exit and we'll do the group shot maybe first that way it allows everyone to grab the chairs put them around for you to get your room shots and then they can come back in and go to the bar and then this area will be clear for them also way need to space for about one hundred twenty twenty five people um I know that that photos probably not gonna be the best photo we've ever taken but I'm just thinking going across the street by the water it would be fine you probably may have to take a step stool just to get a little bit above ground and just thrown the twenty four or twenty eight or even the sixteen to thirty five so knowing that in advance so you know that thomas for his details go jedi knight will start shooting detail is that you're more than welcome to shoot whatever you want however you want it so my settings are four point five one twenty fifth of the second five hundred eyes I usually don't ever shoot detail shots with the twenty four because it's just far too wide but given this situation how wide things are set up are definitely will and then I'm gonna switch quickly to the fifty and get what kind of shot tonight for way never I can give you the macro whenever you go back to the bag I'll give you the macro um not fifty millimeter one point now what fifty will allow me to dio I'm still going to keep the same settings we shooting at a four point five one twenty fifth of a second five hundred s o on what I'm doing now is just simply getting the overview of the um ceremony or altar set up propping it both at this stan shins now wouldn't get close and get shots of all the flowers from different angles wayne changed to six forty s o because it was a tad darker amusing the top so what I had now was I had it side lit from the window coming to the side I'm gonna flick to the side and pick up the natural light coming to say which I think is a picture I will definitely prefer their lit the way that I want to and I will join my eye so back to five hundred you're fine and again I've mentioned this while the bride is getting ready I know that this wedding will be featured or help the goal was for the wedding to be featured on june bug weddings and so since that is the case I have to make sure that I am taking extra hair tio get photos that would be reachable on the block and have a ton of details you know what I'll do is I'll get a shot of these little crystals down from the chair almost likely through on my macro lens for that I could shoot it with the fifty doesn't still a great linds for it but since I have a macaroni e can't well actually I think that the light on this one is actually better because it will be back with which is what I prefer so I'll move these straps because I don't think they're that q wait I'm gonna drop this down to a two point eight many settings will be one hundred shutter speed six forty I esso into twenty and this light that's coming in from the window is just beautiful back lighting it so what happened was when um when I was up close the back lighting worked one photo but now that I want a full top to bottom photo back lady became too strong there's two hot spots in the back so now I'm going to do in order to get the full photo of flip to where the light is coming from in order to get an even exposure internet if I'm boring you I'm so sorry this is just what I do and how I roll now what we'll do is get a picture of the chairs um one thing that it's always good to notice is that when brides will upgrade their chairs laura had the option of having standard fold out chairs but she ended up ordering safari so since I know that she went out of her way to do that I'm gonna get nice photos of the shove our chairs both for the safari company both for laura so I'm gonna shoot them from the side from different angles and then I will shoot the fan that she has so this is the fan and this is their wedding logo it's totally adorable theo taka factory seattle washington when it is also the ceremony outline and after I do this I will go on answer questions and then at four thirty I will shoot all the other details I'm going to drop me okay so how I make my decisions on what aperture that I use so what happens in the background we have a lot of stuff it's beautiful but it's just stuff it's all her tables and all her centerpieces that's going on in the background I shoot it a one point to you it doesn't become so much of a factor ziff I was shooting it over four point oh four point five when I should have at one point to everything off in the background just kind of fades away and that's definitely what I want I'm gonna test my light and kind of see what my settings will be and then I'll kind of share it with the internet cool so my settings are one point two five hundred or so one eight hundred metres on one thing that I have to factor in teo what is going on is the fact that they are a lot of people here ah lot of people in the background um and I think that that could present a problem later on to the final edit and people immediately think oh I could just photoshopping them out but they don't want teo waste any of my time photoshopping if it's not necessary so I'm a firm believer in camera cropping if I can shoot it by cropping out other people and thinking about that in advance I think it is always beneficial for you but no that's fine I'm sorry look into some biscuits one there we go so people in the background but I can just crop him out by simply tilting the lens in one particular way my settings right now are one point two eight hundred shutter speed five hundred eso so when I go back into the room into the confessional you guys better tony things I could do to get better because clearly I haven't done this in so if I'm like leaving you guys hanging I'm so sorry will kind of see if we could fix that in a bit I'm going to not shoot is wide as I'm shooting the text on the fan because I don't want it at one point too because it might not be as readable so I'm just gonna put it at a two point five adjust the shutter for it appropriately and I'll get you my new readings right now once I figure out what it is okay good looks good I'm shooting at a two point five aperture five hundred I esso n four hundred to shutter speed I'll shoot down on the fan for one angle and then I will change it single shortly well then propped up so that I could read it with good light so a lot of it has to go back to my firm believer of styling me not the same not intimating at all that I'm a good stylist but I think if you could just do you warn small thing just to change the photo it might be beneficial later so because I moved into the frame I lost a lot of the ambient light and I also lost white of the chair so I have to compensate for that with shutter speeds and now my settings changed two to fifty shutter speed five hundred eyes going to point okay liking I did what I wanted to dio I will head
