I am not ignorant of the fact that I'm working with human beings and that's incredibly important because I need to understand human beings. I need to know something about sociology and psychology and anthropology and what makes people tick, right? Um And one thing that makes us tick is I know that the way that we are brought up and the way that society directs us is to seek comfort and security. And I know for a fact that comfort and security will kill you because in seeking comfort and security, what you're seeking is the, the large screen TV, and the white sectional couch, but all that's going to give you is an ass di it on that couch. You're gonna find yourself. All you're doing is you're working so you can get home to your comfortable little apartment and sit on your ass and watch Netflix. And then every year your life is gonna get smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller, right? What we want is adventure. There is no comfort in adventure, there is waking up every da...
y and going, let's figure this shit out. This is gonna be awesome, right? And professionally we seek comfort in so many ways. We seek comfort in, in, in a paycheck. We seek comfort in a brief. Somebody tell me what to do. Just tell me what to do, right? We want someone to tell us what to do. Just direct my hand. But then they wake up and they're 40 years old and they come to me and they go, James, I've got a job, I'm creative. Why am I so fucking frustrated? Because you're creatively frustrated because you've been listening to everybody, tell you what to do or how things work and then you go home to your sectional couch and sit and watch, possibly watch other people create glory that you wish you were doing.

I really enjoyed the frank style that the class was delivered. Jealous of the 4 students who were in person. I work as an Aerospace engineer and am trying to find a way to relearn to be creative. This class and the exercises made me think and I have noticed that I enjoy taking different perspectives during boring meetings and drawing doodles that make me smile. Unexpectedly, my coworkers have said my work has improved lately. I think because I have become more open to possibilities outside of the tried and true.
