Class Introduction
- [Sheri] Hello, hello, hello. Hello again. I am Sheri Riley, and today is "Exponential Living: Stop Spending 100% of Your Time on 10% of Who You Are." Are we ready to tackle that? - [Audience] Yes. - Okay. Now, here's the thing about today. Today's class, for me, is not about me teaching. You all hear that? It's not about me teaching. It really is about us having a conversation that I'm going to lead, okay? This is about a conversation that I am going to lead. So high participation, class engagement because I came here for you guys, and I came here for you guys online. Okay? Class participation. So we're going to start there from the very beginning. Are we ready? - Yes. - Are we ready? High energy? - Yes. - Okay. So this right here is universal for three things. Three things. The first thing this is universal for is surrender, right? "I'm done. I'm just done." Right? It's also universal for gratitude. "Yes. Thank you." Right? But it's also universal for victory, right? When Tom Brady ...
throws another touchdown, what does he do? Right? Right? Or when Usain Bolt, the Jamaican Olympic gold medalist, when he crosses that finish line, he's like, "Yes." Right? So it's universal for three things. What's the first one? - Surrender. - Surrender. What's the second one? - Gratitude. - Gratitude. And the third one? - Victory. - Victory. Victory. So, everybody, get up. Get up. Put your stuff down. Everyone online, make sure that you're getting up with us. Get up because everyone's participating. And what I want you to do is I want you to think about "What is that thing that you're going to surrender? What are you going to surrender?" You're going to leave it here. Now, you traveled here, and there's some things that you just need to be done with. You need to leave it here. You need to get over it. You need to let it go. You need to remove it, but you are going to surrender it and leave it here. Now, online, be thinking about the same thing. What are you going to surrender? Put the phone down. Get offline. Stop Tweeting. Get focused. Come with us. Think about it. What are you going to surrender? Now, you're going to do same thing. You're going to do this on my count of three, and to yourself, I want you to think about "What's that one thing? What's the one thing you're going to surrender?" On the count of three, to yourself, not out loud, on the count of three. One, two, three. Hands up. Hands up, and what are you surrendering? You're leaving it here. Just think it to yourself. It's your own thought. This is your moment. This is something you know that you're done with. Hands down. Now, I want you to think about "What is that thing that you're grateful for?" You're grateful for it, and you really haven't even acknowledged it, honestly, but you know. It's that one thing that just... You're grateful. There's gratitude. You're going to put your hands up again, but this time, you're going to say it out loud. Not loudly, just kind of a whisper, but you're going to verbalize it. You're going to speak it. Okay? So on the count of three, your one thing that you're grateful for. One, two, three. Hands up. Say it out. [crosstalk] - Say it out. Say it out. Say it out. Say it out. Yes. Yes. Hands down. Hands down. And now, the third thing is victory. What is that one thing that you have yet to celebrate? It's a victory. You've just went on to the next thing. On to the next. On to the next. Or it's a victory, but up until this moment, you didn't even recognize it as the victory that it really has been in your life. Now, this time on the count of three, you're going to yell as loud as you can. You're going to yell in trump and triumph. The people up in the booth, they're going to go, "Oh, my God. We didn't need microphones because we could hear them that clearly." You are going to yell, in victory, that one thing. On the count of three. One, two, three. Yell it out. [crosstalk] - Yes. Oh, yes, yes. Thank you, guys. Have a seat. Yes. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Victory, gratitude, and surrender. Those are such keys for us on this journey of exponential living. We have to surrender those things that we're done with. We have to give gratitude for those things that we just keep moving. We just keep moving. We don't even celebrate because we're always focused on what's next. And then the victory. We have to get to the point of recognizing the big victories, "Oh, my God. We finally got that promotion. We finally launched that business," and the little victories. And the little victories. So throughout this entire course, I want you guys to think about that throughout the day. "What am I surrendering, what am I celebrating, and where do I have the victory?" So I want you to think about that all day. Also, this class is about participation. Again, I really look at this as our conversation that I'm leading, so I want to make sure that you do two very important things. One, I want you to make sure that you are constantly in tune with what you're thinking. I have a lot of information to share. I've been on this journey for a long time. I truly know the impact. I truly deal with real-life experiences, real results. I was very intentional about this journey being about real results, but here's the thing. Nothing that I have to say trumps what you're thinking. So as much as you write down your aha moments you get on this journey that comes from what I may share, please be in tune with what you're thinking. Okay? Fair enough? And then I have one more request, and this is what I call "don't be selfish." Don't be selfish, and this is why I say that. Out of all my years of speaking, this is what always happens. We have a good talk. There's a Q and A. There's a conversation. Some people raise their hand. Some people don't. I can kind of see the people that don't, but there's something there. And then we'll have a break after I finish talking, and those one or two people will come up to me, and they'll say, "Okay. Can I ask you this?" And they'll ask me the most powerful question, but here's the thing. If they had shared that in the room, everybody could have benefitted from that question. Everybody could have benefitted from that answer. So you have to remember, for me, don't be selfish. Fair? Fair. And online, you guys have so much to offer as well. Ask your questions. Send in your questions because they can benefit the whole group. So two things. Ask your questions. Write down your own thoughts. And again, today is about class participation, and we are going to always focus on "What are those key takeaways? What are those key takeaways?" So please raise your hand if at some point you have said, "I don't know." Right? Just thinking about your plans for 2018, right, how many times have you said, "I don't know?" Right? How many of you have said you're ready for a change? Raise your hand. Yeah. How many of you are accomplished, you've done some things, but you're just not fulfilled? There's something there? Yeah. How many of you are in the midst of a transition? Yeah. Oh, my God. This is wonderful. We're about to have some fun. And how many of you are experiencing fear, anxiety, or just a little stressed out? Well, I'm going to raise my hand because I'm up here.

This course is fantastic! I had the opportunity to attend in person and I will tell you that Sheri is the real deal! An amazing, insightful and inspiring presence on stage and a very down to earth, humble and caring person when I had the chance to chat with her. I have no doubts that anyone watching will be a person human being for it. She utilizes so many great reflective exercises and questions that really forced me to think about what I want out of life and how I define my success in life. A big thank you to the Creative Live studios for putting this together and to Sheri for an amazing class!

This class is one of the BEST classes that I've taken. I'm really excited about all of the great information that I am leaving with. Sheri's approach to teaching is refreshing. She is an engaging speaker who is passionate about her topic. She is very unselfish about sharing value gained from her years of experience and insight gained from working in the music industry. It wasn't just a list of actions to follow, so it was truly enriching. Anyone who is considering this class should know that it's a great investment of their time and money.
