How to Maximize Template Files (PSDT)
the next one is a really interesting one. Um, it's how to create template files and photo shop and Adobe snuck in a new file format inversion 2015.5. It's the P is the T format, and the reason they did that then was because they were planning on releasing the adobe stock templates in the command New menus Head Command end. You have all these different templates that you can download now in photo shop. Before this new document, you had the old document window, which is which is to look like this. And if you want to bring him back, this is how you would do it. You can check use legacy and you document interface. So that's what it used to look like. So the new one has all those different templates. And, um, the P is the T format is used for those templates, but you can actually take advantage of that file format yourself if you're somebody who uses a lot of template files, so you may have a photo shop file that you use for. I don't know the cover pictures of your blawg, maybe some social ...
media. There's different reasons why you would create a photoshopped file. That's gonna be a template file. In the reason that you may want to change the file to appease et A supposed to keeping it disappears. The, um is this Let me open up this file that I have here. I on my website I publish something called the photo shop Tip of the day. And it's just a quick photo shop tip. Actually, I think the tip I'm talking about now made it asset tip on that, um, on that series that I have going on my website, I also create a custom Pinterest image for that tip. And this is a template file, You know, what is the file name? I'm gonna zoom in so you can see it. Photoshopped tip 2017 xx xx. That's where I type in the date. Whatever the date, maybe. And if I make an adjustment to this to this template file, maybe it's a short tip. And maybe I bring the footer up and, you know, make all the oops sorry about that. I mean, actually, select the footer, bring the footer up, and maybe I crop it and make that adjustment to the template And if I accidentally save this file, I will override the original template, which means that I'm gonna need to start from scratch the next time or maybe fix the template. Or, you know, it's not a good thing to override your template files. So what you should do instead, and I'm gonna close this and not save it. What you should do instead is going to file open in rename the template and just add a little t at the end t and they're gonna tell you Whoa, whoa. Well, are you sure you want to do that? You're like, Yeah, I know, I'm sure. And if you open it now, it looks exactly the same. But the one big difference is that right up here, right on the tab. Now it's an untitled document. So Photoshopped created, opened and separate instance of that original template so we can never override the original. So that's that's how you would go about creating template files. So if I were to close that, I could save it. But if I save, it is gonna be a new document, not the original. If you ever want to go back and, um, edit the original. Maybe you decide to make her background read. Or what have you on your template file? You can let me just closest. You can go back into file open and hit me. Name. Change the extension two p as the yes Use P is the Open it again and then you can make the back run red. Or, you know, whatever changes you want to use your template, then you would have to go back renamed the template. And as as a PCT, of course, this time you would want to save it, and I'll save it. Now click on save file. Open rename. Add that little T on there. Used be a Z t. So now next time I open it, it's gonna open up the red file. But it's a separate instance. Untitled hyphen one. So that's how you would create a template file. Does anyone here use illustrator or in design? Okay, cool. So that same this same tip works for those applications as well. So, um yeah, so any in also for future reference. If Adobe ever adds different applications to adobe stock in terms of, ah, files that supports currently it supports photo shop PSD files, I should say PSD files, illustrator files and in design files. If they ever add a different format, it'll probably be whatever the format is t at the end because that's their little ah, extension for templates. And also it works for from Photoshopped 2015.5 and newer. So if you're on CIA's six or older, it won't work, Unfortunately.

Overall Photoshop Week 2017 has some amazing instructors for workflow & compositing. Jesus Ramirez has the unique ability to combine simplicity with really useful depth: blend modes, different approaches to selection or combining different tools. This course covers a lot of tools and there are a number of ‘wow! didn't know that!’ moments a more advanced user will love.

Yeah yeah, Jesus Ramirez is a great instructor and this class is packed with useful tips and even some fun ones that might not be so useful. But it was that one about using two windows from the same document that changed my Photoshop life.

Jesus is excellent! full of knowledge and provides a lot of helpful tips in a clear and easy to understand way. Only thing missing are captions for this class, for some reason. Otherwise, I wish there were more classes like this one.
