Challenge: Find Your Email Marketing Role Models
So it's really hard to be good at email marketing if you're not seeing good examples of email marketing. So, I get it. We're all busy and we're all trying to learn everything we can about our businesses. So we subscribe to a lot of people who are talking about business stuff, so we're seeing a lot of those emails. But many product-based emails are you seeing? So I want you guys to take some time to subscribe to some great product-based email lists for inspiration. Now, here's the thing. You're not gonna know, when you subscribe, if it's actually gonna be a good list or not. It's fine, just try it. That's what the unsubscribe button is for. But I'm gonna show you a couple that I really like just to give you some inspiration to start. So I'm actually a fan of Lululemon's email marketing. And one of the reasons I'm such a big fan of Lululemon's email marketing, and it's nothing to do with the fact that I own a lot of Lululemon, I do. But the reason that I love their email marketing is bec...
ause they almost never send a discount code. Who has fallen into that trap where you're like, I should email my list and I don't know what to do, so I'm gonna throw a discount code in there, right? Almost never. To the point where then when they like, once a year they send out an email and they're like, hey we're having this big sample sale. I'm like, gotta get in that, right? So they're just sending these really great emails all the time that are like, here's a product, we think you'd love it. Another great example, Matt & Nat. So they're a bag brand, obviously. This was an email that I liked, where it was just like, mix n' match, here are two things we think go together. Like, of course, don't you need a purse and a wallet? Here you go. Really simple idea. And again, so I realized that these first two examples, there's a little bit of like, graphic designing happening in here, right? So, you don't have to do that. Literally, this is one image, quick little flat lay, the tiniest little bit of text ever, and a shop button. That's it. That feel like a relief? Right? Like this is actually all there is to it. But you should keep watching the rest of the class, 'cause we're gonna go into more detail. It's not actually that simple, but it kind of is. And like I said, most of her emails are not even this kind of setup flat lay. It's like, here are three T-shirts that we put back in stock today. So, pay attention to what's working. Start to subscribe to these emails. See what's working for people. See what makes you respond. And go back through your inbox. Look at brands that you love. Is there someone that you already subscribe to? And you were like, yes, this is great. Alright, so that's your challenge. I want everyone to start finding their email marketing role models, because the more you look at that, the easier it gets. And you can use those to inspire your content. So when you're like, I don't know what to write about, and you're like, oh, Mat & Nat did this mix n' match thing? What are two things that I can put together in an email and send to my customer? You can use other people's emails to inspire you when you're stuck. So I want everyone to start building their role models.

What a great class. It's easy to watch thanks to the bite-size classes (in some of your other courses, segments are too long) and Megan's almost every sentence is packed with easily actionable, immediately implementable tips. She knows what she's talking about and delivers it with super likeable confidence. And I learnt SO MUCH invaluable stuff. Super recommend this class to all creative makers that desire to connect with their audience and sell sell sell

I've been emailing my list weekly consistently for more than a year, and I still took away a ton of great information! I learned so much that will help me plan more quickly, get the emails written faster, and - best of all - make them more effective at converting into sales. Thanks so much, Megan!
