Adding Gelatos & Final Doodling

Okay, so I'm gonna let that dry for a second and what I'm going to do over here now is take a gelato I'm just gonna pick a color kind of coordinates here I think I was gonna go with this light blue and I'm just going to kind of rub it right over everything here is just really color it on there and because we had deck apologized it's not going to stick a time which is ok with me I wanted to just be very subtle when I'm done if I wanted more color and a richer color and wanted to paint it around and then I would have put you could put a love ah the layer of clear jeff so on here and then that will take be a little bit more adhered to the peace but I want it to be extremely subtle so that when I wipe it off I'm getting almost all of it back off it's just a very, very light but of color added so I'm just going to take ah white and just start kind of moving it and swirling around and you'll see a lot of the color comes right back up onto the wipes so I'll open it up and fold it and go back ...

to it I'm gonna do a second color just for fun and contrast just a little bit of green in here and do the same thing again get in there and just kind of mix it around just gives up this kind of fun, light, ethereal glow, really? And I would I really do think that you can use you see, I really do like using the mikes, but if you don't have them, um, just water on a paper towel over will work just fine, tio but I should own stock in a company that makes baby wipes because I go through them more than most mothers with a newborn does. Ok, so that's it that's done I'm gonna grab my gun and drive the the water portion off, and then we're going to use our pit pen to just kind of outlying the different words so that they pop a little bit more off of this side and they just kind of stand out more and if you really wanted to, you could go in here and outline and doodle and do you all sorts of fine hand drying bets to which I love to deal that's my, that is my meditative state is doodling so and it was funny. We got done here yesterday, and first thing I did was I went back to my room and I had married journal and I was still doing it was like I just kept on going yes, ok, there we were done because once I start doing stuff like this I just want to do it all day long okay? So that's pretty pretty dry um you just before you use a marker, a pen or anything on your pieces you always want to make sure you have a very dry surface especially if it's still the deco podge layer because as soon as deco posh hits you're paying your pen is done there's no bringing it back to life but since this was just the water and with the jill otto's if you have, like, really thick joel otto you can even write over that with your pit time that still works great they're met tio work together they're from the same company and the complement each other really well, so all I'm gonna dio is also kind of show you guys here I'm gonna outline my letters and normally what I do is just to some little squiggles around each one some lines maybe it's a little exes and things if you're not loving that and you don't like that shape you khun do circles you can do little, you know like speech bubble kind of fun stuff, whatever you want but it's just a way to just add a little bit more character and personality to the piece that you are you are working on, so I'm just going to take my pen here and go in and I'm using a bold pen, but the nice thing is it has a very tapered tips. So if you use a real light hand it's not overly thick and, um axis into two darker, heavy, so it's going to do that action from online sorry, stone, what with of penn are using this is the bold, a bold step right now for this one, and I I do love the fine tip never really they have some great different sizes, but what I've found is I am so likely somehow to manage to clog that even if I think everything's a hundred percent dry um, somehow I managed tio ruin it if I don't use it just on plain paper, so I typically use the bold when I'm doing this, but like I said, it's got a nice tapered tip. You can get a really light line if you want to, you can go super bold or fairly light, and I always wait to do it all until I know I'm not putting another layer of seal inter decca pas or anything over because it can smear, so I try to avoid that I'm just going to take my my pen, and I'm just going to outline. The inside of this, because I liked outline everything, but I never go for super straight lines. I'm purposefully crooked because I know that if I tried to do a straight line, it wouldn't be straight anyway. So I did just I have low expectations for my lines to be anything other than like they are. So we did that. I may just go in and add a few little cute scallops to this one, just love to doodle that just adds another little bit of fun flair piece, just like that, really simple, really easy, nothing tio complicated, or, you know, meant to be perfect by any stretch.

This class was wonderful. I enjoyed Stefenie's teaching style and that the entire project (except the paperclay pieces, which needed drying time) could be completed in just a day. She introduced many media that were new to me. I would never have accomplished so much in such a short time without her inspiring project and encouragement. I completed my first shadow box two days later. I will watch any class Stefenie teaches at CL!
