Adding in Bling and Ephemera

So now that this is dry over here, what I'm gonna dio is I'm gonna sit this up. So you guys, the camera guys gonna hate me at this point because I'm showing them the back of the wooden piece so we'll turn it this way if I can. And we're going Teoh glue on our little boat. But everybody here has a little tiny ground container, And inside is all the treasure that goes with your boat. So you've got some cute, vintage inspired bling. You've got some seashells, you know, it's the is your treasure troves there some pearls in there and all we're gonna do is just really go in. And I add those to the boat and just to the little area around it. And that kind of becomes our cute little our treasure that we that we got with the boat. So again, I'm gonna take my glue, and I'm going to add it to the bottom of the boat here. And since I like my glue to come out really fast, I'm gonna cheat a little bit here and use my scissors to cut the tip down a bit more so that I just get a whole lot at once if I...

can. The other thing is I love thes new bottles. I always used tacky glue. It's like the crafting go to glue. If you don't use hot glue, use craft, use tacky glue instead. And they just came out these bottles where you store them actually with the tip down rather than tip up. So it's like instant gratification. I don't have to wait for the glue to drop itself down into position. It's just right there, just so nice. So again, I'm gonna put glue on the bottom on wood as well as the bottom of the boat just so that I get a really good solid adhesion to the peace my little boats now beached on, uh, on the sand. And then all I'm gonna do from here is begin to add in my bling. And I'm actually gonna switch adhesives for the bling because I want something really strong because these buttons have some weight to them, and I also I'm gonna put them at weird angles. And so I want to make sure that what I use is really gonna grab on and hold on to them. This is this is strong stuff. So I will warn you guys of that before you open it. It's the strong glue. I'm gonna pop the top here. That's a new one. It's clear. So you don't have to worry about that either. And then I'm gonna cut the tip off and I will start adding it on. This is like all of a sudden you're like, for the next level of we're going with the Big Lou. We're gonna trying to get that year Agos up and out. We're just gonna play around and just make our little escape here. And I just like bling. Anything that shiny and pretty. I just It just makes me happy. So And I got the shells from you can buy shells in bags and things at the craft store. Or, if you're like me, you're like, Oh, look at that. There's a little bag of shells for 99 cents at the antique mall. Okay, I don't know that they're actually antique shells, but I really didn't care. So now it's just about decorating and just making the pretty I will say if you get the 7800 on your hands just take a baby white and try to get it off. Don't let it sit. You can leave like the tacky you want to get it off while it's still fairly damp, or it's gonna be there for It's like, you know, industrial strength glue. It'll be there for a while. Otherwise so. I tried to get it office soon as it touches my skin, so keep ah white puny while you're using it. But this is just the the pretty fun part of the day. And then once we get this song, all that's left to Dio is Add the rest of the ephemera over here if you want, and if you don't, that's fine, too. I always find this part to be the most. I just enjoy this cause I just move little bits around and play so I could futz with this all day. But I have to stop at some point here and show you how we finish everything up so I can always add more later, Teoh, we'll let that just sit here for one more minute and I'll get these out of the way. We want them kind of in place before I lay the lay it back down. And normally with this, what I would do is if I have, like, a straight pin with a head on it. I'll stick that down in there just to kind of keep that blocked and then pull it out. So Okay, so before, see, he's gonna stay. All right, So to finish up way have left. Really? At this point is to add gonna add my little owl, and I'm gonna use my tacky glue for that. I could use the other glue to I just I try to use this more when I know what's gonna be It's gonna work, and I say of the heavy duty stuff for special occasions. But if you like to use the heavy duty stuff all the time, go for it. And our youngest creativelive viewer today, Daisy, she's and she's decided to make an in the night garden 10 sounds really cool. That will be really cute. Daisy. I hope you share your project when it's dying. I would love to see it. That's so sweet. Are you gonna put fairies or something in your garden? Because that would be really cute. Okay, so I am going Teoh, use the tacky glue to add my milk cap. I have to. Does everybody have at least one? Because maybe I have somebody's milk cap. You have yours. OK, good to know. I will bring you a milk cap too. I have extras of those as well, but evidently are boxes somehow traded supplies. So I'm gonna add that guy down. And then I am going to use the big guns, Put my spoon down, and I again, this is one of those random things I get often times at antique malls or thrift shops cause I use these to make jewelry. I used these for my mixed media. Do all sorts of stuff with old silverware. Just lots of possibilities with it. So put that on there. I lay it down. It's just a different a little bit toe ad here. The peace got that down. I'm gonna square that a little bit. And then all that's left really, at this point is just to let everything dry. It make sure it all kind of stays put. Any last I know we're coming down and kind of unwinding down with three v mixed media. Any last final thought Stephanie on this particular version of mixed media three dimensional art displays that you want to take our viewers with as they go home. I just think the biggest thing is to not be afraid to play around with something if you see. Like I said, this is meant to be a serving tray. So if you see something and it's got one purpose and you're like if I turned it or if I moved it, it doesn't hurt to give stuff a try. And I think people often just get really stuck and so just play and have fine and make molds out of random things and just and just have a really good time with it and try different mixed it, literally mixing different media together and having a lot of fun with it. This really we've got spoons. We've got paper Clay, we've got painted. Bachelot owes. You got Decca pies. It really is a true mix of things, and you don't normally think about gluing a spoon onto an art piece, so just have some fun with it and play around awesome, and I actually would like to show our online audience what some of these products. What? Some of these are displays there looking like they're looking really, really cool. I'm wondering if any of you guys are able to hold it up to the camera. Just I know they're not finished, but just what you've already created. The color schemes are just gorgeous. How they're so great, That's beautiful.

This class was wonderful. I enjoyed Stefenie's teaching style and that the entire project (except the paperclay pieces, which needed drying time) could be completed in just a day. She introduced many media that were new to me. I would never have accomplished so much in such a short time without her inspiring project and encouragement. I completed my first shadow box two days later. I will watch any class Stefenie teaches at CL!
