Gluing on Ephemera
Okay, so to finish up the night sky piece what I'm going to do is glue down my moon where I want it and I've got the got the tacky glue again from I love to create to make sure this one's open today I love grand and glue and I'm gonna use that toe hold it in place my idea was I always put glue on my piece and I like a lot of goodwill dabbed the glue all over and then I'm actually gonna put some right on the wood itself so that the glues sticking to the glue this is a good way to get everybody everybody happy and working together and it does try clear so if you happen to do all of it outside of where you end up you're ok because it'll be a clear, clear drying glue so I'll leave that right there and then I'm gonna take you guys have some to find my little vial of sequins let's have some sequence over there and I just used those with little tiny bits of glue I could just add a little bit of additional starlike quality tio my night sky so put little dabs of that down and then I'll just put...
my little sequins right on there at a little this is fun because from a distance you get a nice little shimmery shine of the stars and it just adds another textural element to it I'm all about adding all sorts of different things to just give it that little bit of love to do that the last thing I'm going to do before I put my boat on is take some white paint and just a small brush I'm a dab on a few dots appear to just add a few more really far away stars and then I'm gonna just swirl it down in my blue to just give it a little bit more of a look of water and waves and then I'll put on my boat well china save the sequins and I'm dropping them everywhere okay so my white paint take a tiny tiny brush just a little anybody round one just a little bit of weight on there just his small little polka dots throughout me my night sky here you're really adventurous and you want to make a star go for it I'm just better with dots on that I'm just going toe makes the little waves down here and just kind of give it that little feel of the water means do not have to be formal but all this is just kind of like little swirls here you guys good okay are we feeling ok about our projects? All right, we need anything that's the next question it's job number okay actually I'm gonna let the moon dry for a minute before I set it up to put the boat in and while it's drying, I'm gonna do the side of my piece and finish it up, so that when I sit up to put the boat, I'm the moon doesn't fall out, because that will happen. And you could do this with any sort of find little scene. I just happened to like the idea of boats and moons and sailing off into my dreams. So can do all sorts of fun stuff.

This class was wonderful. I enjoyed Stefenie's teaching style and that the entire project (except the paperclay pieces, which needed drying time) could be completed in just a day. She introduced many media that were new to me. I would never have accomplished so much in such a short time without her inspiring project and encouragement. I completed my first shadow box two days later. I will watch any class Stefenie teaches at CL!
