Combine Multiple Shapes with Pathfinder Tool
in this lesson I will show you how to combine multiple shapes into one shape. Using pathfinder tool. This way it is easy to create rather complex shape. Using some simple shapes for example I will start with a rectangle tool to create this rectangle here and I add circle on each side of the corner and on this side Using the selection tool I will move this circle onto the other side and here I am holding down shift key so that the movement is aligned with the original shape and also holding down the option key will create the duplicate of the original circle. Right now I have two circles in one rectangle shape and these are separate shapes but using the selection tool to select all the shapes and open the pathfinder panel and use unite option will create these three shapes into one single sheet. You can also combine this idea with the rotation tool using rotate tool, I will move and duplicate this oval shape by holding the option key to click the bottom of the oval and for example I typ...
e in 60 as rotate angle and hit copy community or control D. If you're using windows until the oval goes around. So I started from one oval shape but select all these and again using pathfinder unite then I can make this kind of flower type of design Out of just one simple oval shape. There are a few other ways to combine different shapes into one shape but I find this pathfinder united function. It's easy to understand and if you have so many shapes to combine into one, this is very efficient tool. If you have lots of small shapes overlapped each other, all you have to do is select everything and use Pathfinder unite option to make multiple shapes into one sheet. This is very useful function to create very complex shapes out of very simple shapes.
