Shape Tool Basics

in this lesson. Let's look at the basic control of how to draw. Basic. There are shaped tools in two box in this rectangle tool. When you click and select put the castle on the document in creek and drag to create a shape, few creek sideways in drugs. Then you get horizontally long rectangle. And if you click and drag vertically, then you get vertically long rectangles. If you want to switch shapes, hold down the rectangle tool and you get other options, you have rounded corner rectangles and you get elipse tool, you have polygon tools, he have startles. You can do more with these tools by combining shift key. For example if you're in rectangle tool, hold on safety and create a safe that you always get at this perfect square shape. If you switch the shape to ellipse tool and hold down the shift key, then you always get these perfect circles. Also if you hold down option key and shift key, you can drill shapes. Also if you also. Also if you hold down the shift key and option key, then y...

ou can draw shapes from inside and out here. I'm starting from the center of the circle so you can click your castle from center to the outside, you can combine holding down shift key and holding down the option key. For example, if I have random rectangle and if I want to align the corner of the rectangle in the center of the circle, then I grab my ellipse tool and put the castle on one of the corner of the rectangle. Hold on shift and option key, Then I can make a circle studying from the corner of direct angle. Now I can match the center of the circle and the top left corner of the rectangle. Also we need to review the function of polygon tool. And right now whenever I use polygon tool it's creating The six corner shape which is hexagons. If I want to change the hexagon, two Triangle, for example, the best way to do is to click anywhere On the document. Just one single click. Then it will open up this dialog box and you type three in here. Then from now on every time I make shapes, was this polygon tool, then I can always get triangle and go back to Hexagon. You type in six. And if I type five in here then I get pentagon shapes and if I hold down the shift key then the bottom of the line of the shape is always horizontal. Also I can hold on shift an option key so I can start from inside of the shape and drag out for the start tool. If I hold down the shift key and I can stable the angle of the star. If I'm not holding down shift key, then I can rotate the star shaped before I decide which angle that I want to draw. But then when I hold down the shift key then I can resize the shape but the angle is very consistent when I'm using startle. If I'm holding down shift and option key at the same time, then the star shape will look like this and here's the star shape without holding down option and shift. Also before you let the crosser go to decide what shape you want. You can hit the arrow key on your keyboard up, will increase the spikes of the sort, increase the spikes of the star, and if you hit the down button it will reduce the spikes of the sort, it will reduce the spikes of the star. Let's remember this basic control of the shape tools.
