Creating an Environment for Converting the Pencil Sketch into Editable Vector Graphic
in this lesson, I will show you my process about how to import a pencil sketch and getting ready to convert that into vectors. Scan your finished pencil sketch. I usually scan as low res grayscale photo setting. You don't need high resolution image as long as you can see the image clearly while you're tracing. That's all you need. I usually save the image as Jpeg after scanning opened a new illustrator document and create a layer for placing the image. So this layer will be the layer to place your sketches and then create a new layer on top for victor art, click on the create new layer icon and this will be your artwork later and make sure the bottom layer is turned on and go to file menu place to locate the image that you're placing in. Select the image that you are going to import and click on place and the castle changed as a thumbnail of the image and click anywhere on the document and you need to resize the image in repositioning.
