Create a Small Unit of Complex Shapes to Use as a Base of the Whole Illustration

now everything is ready to start tracing the sketch here, tracing means interpreting your sketch into a group of shapes. So use the zoom tool and make sure you do me in enough to see enough to see everything and look for any recognized shape that you can use. Start from this area. I'm using shape tool and one tip for this process is that it is easy to set no fuel in colored stroke colored stroke color that way it's easier to see against the pencil sketch lines that way it's easier to see against the pencil sketch in the background. And also it is easy to see the process of the tracing. And here I started combining different shapes and edit the shape to match the line of the sketch and when you combine, select the multiple shapes and use pathfinder menu in this case select united options and sometimes you can use direct selection tool to edit the shape and sometimes you use the pen tool just to create simple lines. Now this area I'm going to use this round rectangle tool and use the sel...

ection tool to select the bottom of the shape and notice the anchor point right here is selected and hit delete key to get this shape and whenever you can see the repetition, hold an option key and move the original shape to create a duplicate. I move on to this eyeglass area. I select the round rectangle tool and use the direct selection tool to edit. No I selected the anchor points here and anchor points their command J. If you're using Windows control J. Then The two points that selected has now connected lines again whenever I see the repetition using option key. If you're using Windows it will be old key. And sometimes it's very useful to use pathfinder minus front function and repeat this process to trace the majority of the lines in some cases Use pen tool to connect two lines but I tried to take advantage of the shape tool and keep combining multiple shapes to create the design that I want here. I just created the square and duplicate the square, select both of the square in she's pathfinder minus front option and I see the similarity in here so I can just move by holding the option key. Old key for windows to get a duplicate. Then father ended with direct selection tool. When you walk on the smaller area make sure to zoom in enough so you can see the details. This area will be a combination of a rectangle this size and use direct selection tool to just move the bottom side and sometimes reflect actual is also a very useful tool to make a copy in different angles. Sometimes you can take lines out of original shape like this way when I moved to this area again I can start from simple rectangle shape. Use direct selection tool to edit the shape in combined or sometimes substructure from the shape by either doing pathfinder option, unite or option minus front. So we will repeat this process and by tracing you can probably understand it is actually not tracing but it is actually coming up with different shapes to fit into the area and use that group of shapes as a tracing tool. And when you combine this shape tracing and Penta tracing for very simple lines, this will be very efficient walk floor. Remember you want to leave most of the details for now? This way you can keep paying attention to the most important part of the design and later on creating a good sense of balance and good sense of death would be easier to achieve. Even something looks rather complicated just using the simple shapes sometimes can be achieved pretty easily by choosing the right tools. For example here I can choose round rectangle tool in using direct selection tool to edit the shape. And then you can combine with minimum use of pinto and really take advantage of copy and paste, duplicate the object. For something like this. We have scissors tool which will cut the line desired point. Then we can select the area that we don't need and get rid of it by hitting the delete key on the keyboard again using the scissors tool to create the point that you want to cut, go back to direct selection tool and delete diarrhea. So what I just did was to see this shape, this particular shape and I could interpret this area as a duplicate of the part of this shape. In the same way I can finish the rest For this. I can rotate the shape 45° and again using the scissors tool and create the cutting point and they read the area that you don't need. And as much as you can try to use the shape tool for tracing. In this way, you don't have to use too much pen tool to speed up the process, and it is important to zoom out from time to time to see the overall balance.
