we're going to go through to set up a fan page and once we go ahead and get up here on the monitor we'll go and get started but again the idea here is that we want to build a fan page for you guys so some of you guys who haven't built a facebook fan page yet no problem let's see here let me get this going for you guys something guys having built a facebook fan page yet no problem this is going to walk you through how to build that for those you have built it just go ahead and monitor along with your facebook fan page and you guys can see the different areas that you might need to adjust you might want to adjust you might wanna update this is a brand new facebook page this is caitlin she's our marketing coordinator this's her pseudo facebook sorry pseudo photography business this isn't really her photography business but we figured we start from scratch and so the first thing you want to do once you go ahead and get that you want to get to twenty five likes so you see here we have sixty...
two lights thanks to a few of you who went on and like that we got twenty five lights beforehand and the reason that's important is up here up until you get twenty five likes they're going to give you just a random number and so it's very difficult to share this facebook page of people when it's facebook dot com slash you know paige slash eight two four six eight three four three two one but when you get to twenty five lights you can set up your vanity you are also the first thing you need to do is get to twenty five likes ask your friends your real friends help him out again to help you out get a twenty five like and then secure your vanity earl makes it a lot easier to share and looks more professional next you want to go and add a cover photo and for this I'm gonna go ahead and upload a photo we'll go to the desktop here and here we have the first one in my folder now I know that we have a link out there for proper facebook sizing and this changes every year there's some wonderful people that go ahead and put together every type of size you need to have every dimension and everything on dh hopefully we get that shared in the chat room somebody gonna have access to that I had that saved and that's going to tell you all the dimensions and we'll see why that's so important down the road but it's going to tell you all the dimensions that you need to have your facebook photo size that so here we have a photo and just in case you got a lot of photo that isn't size properly I'm going to show you guys how easy it is to drag and reposition now one thing to note is that as you're applying a cover photo note howthe headshot sits over top of the bottom left of your photo make sure you design a facebook cover image that properly takes into consideration the fact that you're gonna have this head shot here also I really recommend that you put your brand message up there s o caitlyn crisp photography's brand messages nostalgic timeless and sophisticated I guess that's what caitlin came up with for this it's kind of nice and here's a beautiful image works wonderfully with that again if you want to post a photo of a bridegroom in there or some like that to me this is the area you want to be a representation like we use on your website you're authentic brand message next you'd want to go and upload a profile folks are hits st changes next you want to upload a profile photo on dh that's already been done here which is great again a nice head shot of yourself color black and white that's up to you this is the area that russ was just asking about create call to action you can use this area but see I don't like any of those maybe you want to put a contact us but that might work depend on the life cycle interaction that your client is that but none of these were learned mohr or you know some like that's that's why we didn't do it um that's why we don't do that call to action there okay so let's go to scroll down so we talked about the tabs here here the default tabs that they give you a timeline about photos likes and more the more section all it has right now is videos so again you want to use this to the best advantage that you can see our way starting like this page that's great um let's let's look at the about section you're gonna want to put in some information here about you people do go and read this just kind of like your bio you're gonna want her stuff in here categories are important uh and so we're not going to spend a ton of time here because you're about paige is going to be very personal to yourself but you do want to have that filled out here's a great link for how we can go ahead and input uh twitter app so we just go to this link here ap stop facebook dot com slash twitter dash tab dash app he's gonna ask you to select which facebook page you want to put the twitter app on and this is going to go ahead and again sometimes it doesn't work but most of time it does work and so what we're going to see here is that there's our twitter app now installed and we can adjust this if we want teo so here's what they kind of recommend and we're gonna want to do is set up our own twitter there by going to the administrator panel and putting in our twitter account so we'll put in um let's just put in shootout at his twitter account and there it is so here's an update of twit of shootout at twitter feed which is obviously not caitlin krista photography's twitter feed but this now shows a nice scroll of all the tweets that she died it's been doing about five minutes ago an hour ago hey look jared's on creative live three unique ways to shoot the wedding details will be a great way if you use twitter to share but it's also a great way to add to your time I know again you're gonna want to add things like maybe a free content guide may be called to action tow your other social profiles like instagram this is area you're going to do that okay let's go and move on let's go ahead and share blawg some block post the way we talked about both a link share and a photo share so I've got these worked up here for us so here's a link share a link share's going to where you grab a link from an actual block post you did so here's a block post it we did it she did it we'll use that one this is top five tips for posing way went out we asked roberto valenzuela he did a webinar with shootout at it and we made it into a block post and shared his top five tips for posing so we're gonna do is we're gonna go ahead and grab what we wrote about it top five tips proposing to use at your next wedding and then we have the link there and we'll go back over and we'll add it here at our timeline and this is where I would just drag unplug that in now let's talk about the image that it pulls in this is the image it pulls in naturally first off amber hi talked about how you can scan and scroll through notice what happens if the image is not properly sized for facebook this is how it's gonna look if you pressed share and that doesn't look very good first off it's not doing your business any good second it's not actually helping you out doesn't look very professional and so again with that link that shows you how to size your facebook images you're gonna want to do that this is pulling from the header banner on our block post notice how the header banner has been designed but there's space on the edges that's because we made sure to design it in a manner that when facebook pulled it in it would perfectly crop it and that's all thanks to our designer kevin he does a great job with making sure all of our designs could be shared and fluid I'd like to see you guys do that I'd like to see you guys learn the different dimensions and make sure you're designing images that gets shared on facebook that you make sure they get shared properly so again these dimensions are changing every year but where you hope they have a link out in the chat rooms for that and so what I would do is I would literally just press post and this will get shared and that's how it's gonna look now I can't if I click on this notice if I click on the image it goes straight to the block post you can see that here in the bottom left it's gonna go straight down the block post that's one of the benefits of a link share if you do a photo share and somebody clicks on the photo it boots the photo up and they have to actually click on the link in the photos so they takes them two klicks to get to your link versus one lot of chance for people not to follow through on that that's why a link share is better if you don't have anybody to tag again not only to get more organic reach but just from an intrinsic level link share is better because it takes one klick to get your block post versus two now if you have people to tag that might see proceed that we'll get into that here a second now let's go ahead and boost this post again if I were to just boost this post right now as is it would boost it to everybody united states who's eighteen to sixty five plus I don't even keep track he once you get over sixty five you're just a number to them at that point here all sixty five plus terrible and you know what that would get in front of ninety two two hundred forty people per dollar I spend and is that one hundred ten million people that could go to that's a big number that's a lot of people it cost this is coca cola style right here is like if you're coca cola this might be how you set up your target audience they'd probably say the whole world actually let me show you can create a new audience right here now as you can tell this isn't as sophisticated as what we're working with and so that's why I don't recommend you use a new audience here inside the boost I really recommend you do it inside of the ad platform so we're gonna go ahead and do that here in just a second so I won't boost this photo this post yet so let's go ahead and try on image share rather than a link share ok let's go ahead and do another post and this time we're going to do it with an image share but first I have to go and upload the photo and I'll do that by hitting photo video upload photo and then here we have this okay good here's a nice is this for a block post we're going sharing about posing the bride's maids a nice graphic that kevin has made for us we'll go ahead and now in an image share your and notice that it doesn't crop it the same because when you're sharing an image is going to share the whole image I'm gonna go back here and while it's uploading go and grab the notes I have to have the lincoln here so I had the link I've shown you both what a shortened link looks like and what a non shortened link looks like you can it's up to you if you want to shorten your links or not there's lots of services like bit dot l y lately that will shorten them for you for free makes him a lot more manageable that's up to you and your brand if you want to do that so it wouldn't copy this I'll go back over there is the image right there I'll go and post that and I'll hit post now look it didn't cut off the image of all if I go here to the block post I can see that the image is actually that wide if I dunno link share it would have cut part of the madoff because I know that I went ahead and for the for the facebook share notice of the graphic is different and so you can use different graphics to share your block post on facebook if you do it image share okay so now we have this and this is the difference here notice now if I click on the image it doesn't take me to the block post it takes me to the image and now I have to click here to go to the block post that's I was talking about when I sing now tagging people though that's a different option and so if you have somebody in the image you want to tag that would be why you might want to do an image upload I'm sorry image share you want to come back and a little bit more about tagging here in a second in the meantime let's go ahead and set up some audiences make sure I have that done right so I can create an ad here and let's say I want to boost my post and so is gonna ask me which post I want a boost and it's gonna pull in some of the most recent post so here's that post I just did three tricks deposing the bridesmaids lets go to boost that one first so it's asking a name the campaign and lets go and call this three tricks to posing bride it's amazing okay here's where we get to have all the fun we're talking about so let's go ahead and just say that we're a photographer that's in oklahoma city so there we have oklahoma city and so again I can even change the radius ten miles twenty five miles I could make it custom I can make it no radius we'll even twenty five miles and now we have this area that's in the united states in oklahoma city I could add another area for what reason I have two locations so that I could add more and let's say that I know that my target market is between twenty five thirty two we'll focus on women I'm not going to really worry about the language and then here to the demographics I'm gonna go ahead and focus on relationship and then I can actually say engaged I could add more in here if I wanted to so you can layer maurren and so now here I have already right here a target audience instead of those nine thousand people like we had in san diego forty four hundred people that are in this target market that is wonderful now I'm getting my message out in front of forty four hundred people instead of in front of the entire world I'm not blasting the messes that people aren't going to care about I'm going to go ahead and focus my authentic message at the target market that I know that is perfect for who I'm trying to talk to I can say five dollars per day you can say as much or as little as you want or you can just say you know what let's just do it for one day which is what I'm going to set up that by this time tomorrow to be done to make that nine twenty here we go andi I went to may know why that was so expensive for best results you want to run it for long let's just go ahead make facebook happy and run until ten twenty more see if that'll go away ten twenty one there you go all right so there we have it was going to run until ten twenty one tomorrow now here is the important thing on the right side is that we're gonna get this in front of six hundred ninety eight two hundred people of the thirty four hundred so if I want to get that to all the people in my market I need to extend this for probably two or three days I'm saying this could get between six hundred nineteen eighteen people so I want to hit everybody and guarantee a hit ever in that market I could do it for all thirty I could get for all thirty forty people probably take me a couple of days of boosting so take me probably about fifteen dollars to get this block post in front of my target market or I could go you know what I don't want to spend more than fifteen I don't want to spend more than five dollars I'm just gonna spend five dollars and get in front of about a thousand people are so whatever you want to do just for the sake of our conversation will do it for five dollars this is how it's going to look now here's something you can go I don't really like it when it's in the right column you know this a write columns you on facebook I don't want my my sponsored poster that looks to add looks to spam e I'm not going to do that I recommend keeping her on mobile mobile because everybody's accessing facebook these days mobile and so now you have this and you can just hit the button campaign too short all right let's just go ahead and set this to run and tomorrow I'll stop the boost great here we go and there it is out there for the world now what's great about that is that I just set up and here's the campaign section this is also a little bit confusing and we'll just go through the easier version tomorrow let me just quickly go over and show you how you can actually said these audiences so you don't to do that work every single time when you get into audiences which is inside of the campaign manager you can create all of this different stuff so again I'm not going to really go through that today but when I wanted to do assure you that it is possible to do that you can also create lookalike audiences and again that's what you brought up for us when you asked about I want to target everybody who is like this certain pages a certain fan page that's a great idea it's a wonderful idea theoretically people who like a fan page that is in your target market we're also be interested in what you're doing and then you can also build these saved target groups so it's going to go back to the page and sometimes it's a little bit complicated to find your facebook page but there we go so here we have and we can see that it's been boosted or it's going to show up is boosted a soon as it hits um one thing that I really recommend doing is making sure that you save your target audiences so that they could just become a drop down menu so that would mean that if I wanted teo and his facebook updates I couldn't boost post and then I could hit and I would be able to select my target audience is here and so you do that to that target audience stage we don't have time to build that target audience out today but I'll walk you through how to get to that target audience area and you basically build out the same audience we just built but you save it as a target audience and so you khun actually share with that target audience instead of having to build it out every single time you can do it right when you post the block post I don't want to go too much further than that I want to show you guys how to build out your facebook profile I want to show you to add one thing I didn't do it is if you need to move that twitter tab you can adjust it by just dragging it and dropping it and as you add tabs in there you can adjust them so people can see it facebook a sect update here we have the twitter I want to show you guys the differences between blogging sharing a blogger post or sharing a guider sure whatever it is they're sharing between the image share and the actual link share last before we go ahead and kind of take a few questions and end this segment when I want to do is just go through a couple of the hacks that I know about for tagging people through a fan page now let's hope they work you never know um there's a a photo that I grabbed that caitlin had photograph of a wedding on dso we're going to upload a photo this has people in it and so that makes it obviously I don't want to tag that brides I wouldn't tag that bridesmaid I'm sorry I wouldn't tag so even though again roberto contributed roberto valenzuela contributed to this top five tips proposing I wouldn't want to tag him in this that's considered a little spanish because he's not in the photo that's not what facebook intends for you to do and so I really don't recommend that you actually do that hang on one second we'll have a second for questions I want to hear your question I wouldn't recommend units I recommend tagging people in images when they're actually in when they're actually in the images themselves so it's going post this photo and often times when you go and you go to tag people it won't let you tag anything but businesses and so if I hit this and I know that I want to tag you know somebody in this will just take that's an actual business or that's a fictional character let's say one to tag let's say that was me when the tag jared bombing the diamond fictional character jared bombing see it won't let me tag an individual and that could be a problem because you want this to be tagged with that individual's name let me show you a couple of tips and tricks that you can you can employ to try to get a tag gun first step that you khun dio is try switching what you're accessing facebook as to your personal brand so right here you're posting and acting as caitlyn caress a photography that's your fan page name try switching that to the actual person caitlyn carisa often times that will be the trick that does it for you didn't work no problem let's try another stressing else drop this menu down hit more options and hit edit post here there and now I can tag jared bombing so now he's tagged and while it's not a tag like when you screw over the name it will be shared on jared bombings profile so that's one of the options you can use to get around and the third option is to actually hit at it and do it here ah fourth option is to actually right click open link in new tab head over to the new tab and down here hit tag photo and look there I can tag other people in it now so this is some of the hacks to get around facebook's not allowing you to tag and I think it's it's useful to just share you've mentioned a couple times but just kind of disclaimer any of these things could change it any time I mean and that's that's one of the hard things with this is that you kind of do have to stay up to date with it because it is changing all the time I really recommend that like you talk about russ that you understand the concepts behind facebook and really the overarching theme of getting your message in front of the target audience it's you know I mentioned john loomer and he's a great person to follow along with there's no reason why you need to be an expert in facebook but what you do is a business owner need to be is you need to make sure that you surround yourself with experts in all areas of business you don't have to be the expert in every area of business a matter of fact you should really try to focus yourself being an expert and only a few areas and try to trust others to contribute to your business in expert way because let other people be experts and so with facebook they're going to continue to change the way they do things they're going to continue to change how they let you utilize it but the bottom line is that right now it's one of the best vehicles for sharing your authentic brand message in front of a targeted audience you know otherwise wouldn't be able to get in front of and let's be honest facebook is the thing that people are constantly accessing thie usage rates of facebook are sky high it creates a lot of challenges though it really does what I really want to do is introduce to you guys how even today where facebook has really according to most people never been harder to use you khun still actually find a lot of value if you surround yourself with expert advice and make sure to use it within the confines of what they're allowed to do and as time progresses it's going to change but as long as you continue to surround yourself with experts who talked to you about that who add value to your business and give you guidance on the things that are changing you can continue to stay abreast of those things and how to use it to your advantage without you getting taken advantage of with all the batter is a bit with the areas that won't help your business grow let's say you that have literally no money to spend on ads or boosting or anything what's the best way to get likes from your target audience isn't just posting content that is relevant to them that's useful and tagging people as you do very much so yeah very much so the power of facebook there's still in amazing power of facebook when you get the right message in front of the right people there's still a wonderful power and facebook that they will share it and they will respond by liking it and it is a great way we're going to talk about it later in date in the end of day two and more on day three but you will if you keep plugging away at this content if you keep trying to find ways to love your customer and to solve their problems if you keep sharing in front of right group there will come a day when you're content will have a tipping point well it'll go viral when it will go crazy when something will just trigger and you're gonna get to see that wonderful explosion all right any questions one more just in regards to the post that you shared from st roberto valenzuela so I get that you know tagging him in the image might be a little spam e but as a contributor and as a fellow business person and maybe this accounts for weddings and stuff too when you want to at least text tag him as a contributor to give him that expert positioning his business page then sees that you shared it and maybe he could be like hey look at this thing I wrote for shoot don't edit and then he shares it and also you know if you don't have a budget like our person that chat room said you know that wedding image may be tagged the florist and the text or give credits to the dress shop and then chances are they may share is well I think it plays on a number of things for that article there shoot out that it actually wrote that article and so but when I think that would be a great way to utilize what we know about facebook is if maybe the comment instead of said top five tips for opposing thanks so much roberto valenzuela for your contribution you tag roberto valenzuela is going to show up on his facebook page is gonna allow him to see not only that his thoughts are being shared and used but there's a social reciprocity that comes with that that there's a social reciprocity that comes with it you contributing to the social commentary and vice versa so I think it's a wonderful way and you're right it also is a very strategic way it's very smart when you when you are sharing images for a wedding too toe mention that hey ah big thanks tow this florist a big thanks to this venue ah big thanks to this videographer this deejay for contributing it's going also not only contribute to the social economy but encouraged them to share a cz well because they're gonna want to share something that you did to feature them and so I think it's really a wonderful idea to take advantage of not necessarily tagging but commenting on mentioning them through the at and invention into the feature their wonderful idea it's a great way to use a great way to spend your day

Love love love creative live! I have since passed on this fantastic learning environment to my friends! At this stage it's true I'm not a big purchaser not income flush just yet! But want to give feed back on 'content marketing for photographers and the presenter! Actually he's ok good sound information, clearly knows his stuff however my friends and I ditched it because this phrase 'loved on' which he seems to use A LOT! is very creepy, in fact it pretty much grabs our attention so much we keep missing what he's saying, the other one ' lean in' these seem so juvenile teenager like and especially the loved on.... Seriously sounds like a crude sex act! Put us off from buying the content! Shame because we need his help.

Wow - such a great class! I have heard Jared speak before (mostly on pricing), and I have to say, he really knows his Marketing! Absolutely loved the structure of the 3 days, and after each segment, I felt like I had so many actionable items to take and apply to my business. From social media tactics to solving clients' problems through guides to proper blogging strategies, there are so many new ways that I have learned to use content marketing to strengthen my business this year. Jared also found a way to take topics that are not as interesting, such as creating effective emails, and make it engaging for the entire segment! Such a talented speaker. Personally, I think it's great that Jared has small catch phrases such as "lean in" and "love on clients" - it makes him unique! Not only that, but his strategies WORK, so he can phrase ideas as he wants! :) This is definitely a course worth watching, regardless if you have been shooting for years or are just starting out!

This course can transfer to anyone who wants to learn from the best in marketing. All of the presenters were amazing and this course was WELL worth the money and then some.
