Marketing on Pinterest Q&A
I was wondering when your batch posting to pinterest from a blogger post and then repeating that to multiple boards are you waiting a day or so to re pins that you don't have a lot of duplicate stacked in your pinterest feed this is a good question yes ideally no practically so often what ill do actually is I will do that batch painting so yeah that does philip my pinterest feed right and then about once a month I'll go back through and re pin those throughout because actually what I'm looking for when I when I have that I have actually trigger that goes off once a month to remind me to repin and that that's my reminder okay what if I paint what I blogged and pinned in the last month and where do I want to reap in that inside of my feet which which freshens up that feed with my existing images on dh then those photographers that you know gosh in the winter months maybe we don't have anything for two months taub log or to share the great strategy to go out there creating new board here'...
s my board for men with colorful ties boat and I'm going to repaint all of those right that time that that makes sense so yeah I think the best strategy would be ten everything and then wait a predetermined amount of time and then re pin or cross pinto other boards great question good question I I got a little bit confused so I need to kind of go over that order again we have a folder full of images that you're going tio put up on instant yes instagram okay and you're gonna balog and after you've done that those same images they're not going to be pinned however those images are linked back to your website and you're taking him off your website to put him there so where does that door isn't in the description there's good question once once they're on the website they live on the web site that's where they live forever when I pin them from there to pinterest all pinterest does is it shows this image in this particular social media platform in this category or board that I place it in but it's actually pulling that image directly from my website so jared jared talked about this earlier that we want to keep those old we want to keep those images alive and just let them live on our website forever unless it's really time to retire that image but but in general we lead reside on the website once it's there than any time someone clicks on that image from pinterest they're going to come back to our website so would that include the step than taking them from that block folder and putting them on the website those that you're going to pin yes so that you can make that and then you have thousands of images way have five years five or six years of blawg posts and then and it just boy just really adds up quick thank you uh got some questions from online have someone who says I'm not familiar with pinterest do you tell friends and family that you have the pinterest board do you have friends or fans on pinterest or just people that repin your images is there any sort of community generation that you're trying to do right you know when we started when we started with pinterest no we just wanted to get them out there my initial thought was I just want them out there so that you know those air nice links back to my website you know was thinking at the time that would help my rankings on google for my website it doesn't really work that way it turns out that yeah we want to be engaged with others so the people that I do follow on pinterest tend to be other planners wedding planners other vendors that I that I want to follow other publications that I want to kind of have an engagement engagement with s o that's how I began to start relationships with and and honestly a curated that for probably two or three months at the most where I'm actively following and actively engaged and I just ran out of energy I think that people that really love pincher wrist can kid be even mohr engaged and expand their followers by being really engaged on pinterest just like any platform them or engagement um or more people will follow back most of our followers and we don't have that many on pensions we have enough to make it worth our while most of them came from you know someone pinning something that we pinter they repent and then someone else repented someone else repentant and someone could end up following us every day if I look at my little messages in pinterest we've got another couple of dozen followers and all of that is with zero effort all I'm doing now is just painting images I'm getting them out there so I you know I think the best again we're talking about best practices be incredibly engaged on pinterest if you're going to do it be incredibly engaged that'll help expand that follow orders those those followers and the people that are liking your images and then it just it takes on a life of its own once that ball gets rolling on again best practice once that ball's rolling keep kicking it and keep it going but for us we just keep pinning and it just keeps expanding that's what we do know that is great thank you would you have a pin it button and they like it button on your block does it need to be attached to every image on your post good question I'm not a big fan of the like button a lot of times the like button has account next to it so if it does have a count do what you can to get the number of likes off because pictures that have zero likes that just doesn't translate well doesn't look good I don't have a problem if it's a pin it button and a like button oh no we're talking about pinterest I was going off of facebook going with direction I'm sorry I only wanna pin it button yeah way have somebody who s I don't blawg can I pin from my facebook page I I don't believe so I don't believe it I don't believe we'll connect back to facebook you could double check that but I'm pretty sure I tried it and I don't think it connects back great we have somebody in the jet room and I apologize I didn't write down your name but somebody who was asking something along the lines of does it bother you that people are basically pinning your images then probably printing out that page taking it to another photographer and saying I want this because that happens with interest a lot I think a lot of people acknowledge that what are your thoughts on that aspect of it the benefits outweigh the downside to me it's definitely gonna happen funny thing we actually found images from pinterest printed and in a show home in colorado it's a handful of our image is used in a show home and you know what's really awesome when that about when that happens when it's a large company they will pay you for their error so that was actually kind of nice it was a nice little surprise but the reality is you people going to steal your unjust people are going to create their own boards based off of your images and hire another photographer to do that we've actually gotten requests from brides like hey we really love something like this and I actually know who that photographer is and who did that that's just brides being bride's people being people and using pinterest for what it's for the benefit of brides finding us on pinterest and falling in love with us totally outweighs the downside that yeah hey r r hard work is being used for something that doesn't actually benefit it fit us in that situation but good strategy and getting the word out there worth it worth it for the bookings yeah absolutely really quick fairly simple one you said two to four p m and what time zone is that is that your local time zone is that something specific you're local local time zone with the idea that you're attracting brides within your area great if I'm that's that's actually brings up that idea that if I'm a new york wedding photographer lives in colorado but I only really shoot in new york and I shoot cosmopolitan kind of situations I'm gonna divert my strategy to where I think my bride is in that time zone perfect on go one more question here and we've got another quest from in the audience do pinterest and instagram really benefit you if you're just a local photographer you're not someone who wants to do destinations or travel or anything like that is there still value in doing these things yeah you're talking to a local photographer we don't really like to travel for wedding we love traveling you don't love traveling for weddings eh so we find a lot of our bright well and we also live in a destination so a lot of our clients maybe eighty percent are traveling to colorado for a wedding s oh that makes sense primarily for us even though you know local brides find us here as well but I think the investment in that with the idea that I'm even if your local photographer only shooting local weddings for local couples and they come to your website on day see you're blogging and they see they see everyone else's website all of your competitors have links to their pinterest page their instagram account their facebook page everyone else is doing it and then they were actually doing a good job at it boy that really means you've got to step up your game and do an even better job those because they're looking it's almost as if it builds your credibility or decreases your credibility you're not doing it s so I think that would be kind of my limits test in a particularly local market like that uh sweet app equivalent for instagram that you're aware of say that again I'm sorry is there a hoot suite app equivalent for the for instagram that you're aware of their boy that's a great question there are a couple of aps um on the iphone I think one is called later graham so you can actually schedule out some of your instagram work there's there are some pinterest programs that allow you to schedule those out as well I can't tell you how great they work I've tested I've tested some scheduled instagram some scheduled pinterest stuff in the past sometimes it's worse for me other times it hasn't worked for me so I've literally just come back to until the technology is fantastic for all of that I'm kind of manually just doing that but but definitely there's definitely some tools out there to to test out and explore with and even as we talk right now or somebody two months from now watching this rebroadcast this possibly going to be some really great tools in place so definitely worth exploring all right and final just very quick question do you what your thoughts on water marking for pinterest definitely a personal preference our preferences not not to do so with the idea we really want our brides if they really like it they will figure out how to find us the downside is that our images do get stolen but watermarks are really easy to remove his well be one if I was gonna argue this on the other side because I can argue both sides of this thing all day having your your watermark show up on multiple images thousands of images and people repeating them creates a nice little brand awareness hey that's jason and gina but for us what's really funny is that people people will tell us you were out on an engagement you were having a conversation with the bride and she's like you know it's really funny on pinterest now and I just know the image is that of yours done that's what we're looking for they're going to recognize our brand because of the because of our style and the way we shoot so I can argue on either side of that my preference on guy think I think it's a strong preference on dh recommendation is don't watermark if they love your work they're going to find out who who shot it

Love love love creative live! I have since passed on this fantastic learning environment to my friends! At this stage it's true I'm not a big purchaser not income flush just yet! But want to give feed back on 'content marketing for photographers and the presenter! Actually he's ok good sound information, clearly knows his stuff however my friends and I ditched it because this phrase 'loved on' which he seems to use A LOT! is very creepy, in fact it pretty much grabs our attention so much we keep missing what he's saying, the other one ' lean in' these seem so juvenile teenager like and especially the loved on.... Seriously sounds like a crude sex act! Put us off from buying the content! Shame because we need his help.

Wow - such a great class! I have heard Jared speak before (mostly on pricing), and I have to say, he really knows his Marketing! Absolutely loved the structure of the 3 days, and after each segment, I felt like I had so many actionable items to take and apply to my business. From social media tactics to solving clients' problems through guides to proper blogging strategies, there are so many new ways that I have learned to use content marketing to strengthen my business this year. Jared also found a way to take topics that are not as interesting, such as creating effective emails, and make it engaging for the entire segment! Such a talented speaker. Personally, I think it's great that Jared has small catch phrases such as "lean in" and "love on clients" - it makes him unique! Not only that, but his strategies WORK, so he can phrase ideas as he wants! :) This is definitely a course worth watching, regardless if you have been shooting for years or are just starting out!

Since watching this course I have told not only my photographer friends about it, but many of my other friends who run their own businesses/organizations. This course can transfer to anyone who wants to learn from the best in marketing. All of the presenters were amazing and this course was WELL worth the money and then some. Thank you for sharing so much of your knowledge you have gained in your very successful business to help all of us succeed in ours!
