Shoot: Close Family Image on Furniture
This is gonna be a good shot of the whole family. We're gonna get... Mom, you're gonna lay on your tummy. Straight at the camera. Yep. So like, right here. It's a little awkward, but it'll look good. Feet have to be flat down. Or you can even take shoes off if you want. That might even be better. I'm not gonna see your feet. I'm not gonna see your feet. I'm just gonna scoot these right back here. Dad, Chris, you're gonna sit right back here. Your back is right next to Sophie. Here, you prolly don't need the tiger. Here you go. Nope, you're on the ground buddy. You're on the ground, yep. So, what we're gonna do, I'm gonna start and get one shot of you, and we keep adding the kids. So, what we need, you guys can scoot up further, so Sophie's feet can lay down, yep. And so what's important, your heads have to touch. That's the trick of this one. So Sophie's kind of, Dad sits nice and tall, and then Sophie you're kind of leaning down into him. And then I want to shoot a little bit of this ...
above angle. That is so beautiful. You guys look amazing. Lets see if we can get that one to come up. Perfect. And lets start adding some of the kiddos in. So, come on guys. You guys are almost done. We have a couple more. We need the whole family. So, Riley for sure, is gonna be behind Dad. Right here, kneeling down, yep. Kneeling facing the window. So you're kneeling on the ground, yep. We're gonna have, there you go, scoot in close. This is a snuggly shot, you guys all close together. We're gonna see if Kiomo, will she sit with you Dad? Or mom, she can be with Mom. Okay, I need Kioko. Come here. And then, so I need probably Kioko sitting on your lap Chris if you want to grab her. And then Mom, Sophie, you're just gonna have her up there next to, in front of you, whatever you thing. She can sit on your back. Whatever you think you can get her to do, we'll add her in, okay? And then, we've got, so Chris you're gonna sit down, hold Kioko, Riley, I mean Kai, sorry. Kai, you're gonna kneel down right next to Riley. So you guys are making up the back of the shot. So, Riley and Kai, you have a tough job. You're kneeling down, you've gotta be right up next to Dad. And then Chris, your feet are not actually in the shot. Just kinda scoot them up a little further out of the way. That is so cool. Oh my gosh I love that. Let me back up just a little bit. Hold on. So Riley, can you be taller? Yeah, there we go, you need to be a little bit taller. Perfect. Everybody look at each other. Look at each other. Hold on I'm gonna come tweak this. So, this is what I would do. I would shoot it to make sure we get it, but I'm gonna tweak some things. Let me come up. I love it. So, this is where I'm gonna try to. I love this, we're gonna try to get this shot just right. Hands need to be snuggling more around. Daughter Kioko, you're gonna hold Daddy's hands. Yep, bud, I love how you're doing this. Can you turn so your legs are a little bit closer to Dad? Yep, and then honey, how tall can you be if you're straight up on your knees? I need you as tall as you can be. Yep, that's perfect. Can I get a little fuzz off your shirt? Okay, okay I'm kind of loving that. Lets do it, lets do it, lets do it. Okay Riley, you need to get a little closer to Dad. Maybe, and then Kai scoot closer to Riley. Yep, you guys are good. Yep, perfect. Sophie look here. Perfect, oh did you get Mama? Oh, Kiomo, kiomo, peek-a-boo. Kiomo, don't you look at me. Don't you look at me. Oh and then Kioko, hands down. Hold Daddy's hands. Kioko, you have to hold Daddy's hands. Hold Daddy's hands. Perfect. And then Sophie actually, lets do one all of you guys looking at each other again. Look at each other again. Fun. And now everybody hug. Lean in on each other, lean in on each other. Lean in on each other, smoosh, smoosh, smoosh. Riley, don't hide from me. There you go, get tall. And kai, I love it. Everybody look at me. Everybody looking great, smiles. Oh, it's busy, right there, right there. Oh, Kiomo, Kiomo. You got Daddy's glasses. Okay we're gonna take this, is she gonna put them on? Okay everybody keep looking at me. (laughter) That'll be the glass-glare picture. There we go. Perfect, and then everybody looking right up at me. That's great. Kiomo, peek-a-boo. Oh can you give Daddy back his glasses for one? Can you give 'em back for one? So I can show you the difference too. I like the higher angle here, we're gonna try one more with that higher angle. Uh-oh, oh lets do this, look right up here. Kiomo. Wait, who has the best quiet smile? Ooh, that's good. That's good. Sophie, you got it? Kiomo? Kioko? Lookin' right at me. Hands down, that quiet smile. We're gonna wait for, right there. Lookin' right up here. Okay, I'm gonna get it. I found that tiger. Kiomo, where'd it go? Where did that baby tiger go? Okay, hold Daddy. Oh Kiomo Kiomo Kiomo. Here we go, you can sit up. Yep, sit up sit up sit up, that's great. That's adorable. You can actually still, that's great, I love it. Snuggle on her and lean in on Dad. This is the hug-all. Kiomo, Kiomo, do you want the tiger? Hold her up taller. Will she sit on his shoulders? Or one of them? No, no, we're not. Should we not even do that? Do you think these broad shoulders? Get him, get Daddy. Oh just lean on him? There, everybody Kioko, Kiomo, Kiomo, Kioko. Everybody there we go? It's hug-all. Oh, Riley, that's not your real smile. There we go, there she is, there she is. Right there, hold her up a little bit we're losing her. And Kioko, Kioko, Kioko. That's okay. Soph, can you scoot this way up a little bit. (screech) Do you want this? Okay, you guys sit. Here's Mom you can just, you don't have to lay down if that's easier. Your feet can go this way. Yep, and then that way you can kind of lean on Chris. That works super cute. So, yep, Kiomo. Okay, I'm gonna throw it, I'm gonna throw it. You guys all have to snuggle close. Oh yeah, so throw her up there, or just sit here. Okay Riley you need to put your hand around Dad. You need to be in closer. There you go, cute. Okay Kai, get right next to your sisters. You gotta get right in there. In fact, we'll do one variation, Chris turn your face a little bit to the left. Kioko, Riley, and then Chris lean towards Riley a little bit to make some room for Kiomo, yep. There we go, Kai, Kai, Kai. (camera shutter) Kiomo, peek-a-boo, peek-a-boo. I'm gonna throw that tiger. Oh, here I come, here I come. Kiomo, don't you look. Mama's gonna tickle you. Tickle tickle tickle. Oh there's a little smile. Kioko. (camera shutter) Kiomo, Kai Kai Kai. Kiomo, and Jed's gonna be showing head-swaps later. (laughing) No, this is great. You guys are doing amazing. Kiomo, they're over there having fun. Let do, look at each other. Make it a fun one, make it a fun one. You guys are doing good. Kisses, kiss your Dad. Kiss your Dad's nose. Oh, there we go. Snuggly, do this. The last hurrah. Everybody stand up, stand up, stand up. The kids are all gonna stand on the couch. Mom and Dad are gonna be behind the couch. So, here, come here quick. We're gonna do one last thing. Lets everybody... Mommy... So we're gonna move the couch, whoa everybody stand up. Perfect, okay, so. This is what we're gonna do. Lets get it a little bit straighter, and then, so what's fun about this, kids, is you can be holding her too. You can hold her that's fine. Some of you guys sit on the couch, sit on the top of the couch. Maybe you're standing on the couch, using this like a chair. Lets see, looking at colors. Lets make sure, yep we've got the white shirts on two opposite sides, that's great. Perfect, you're in front of Dad, that's good. Okay, hold on sweetie. I'm gonna have you scoot back. Maybe sit with your legs criss-crossed applesauce. So Riley, scoot all the way up. Can you sit criss-crossed applesauce at all? Oh, you know what? Can we push your couch back? Shoot, I'm sorry guys. We're gonna push you guys back a little further. Yep, just a little yep. And then Riley, I might have you, I'm prolly gonna have you sit on the couch too, like on the top. I think that'll be cuter, yep. Yep, so everybody scoot close to Dad, Riley. So you're not hiding, Kiomo. Here we go, here we go everybody. Work it, I love it. That's so cute, yay. That's so cute. Now look at each other. Look at each other. [Kids] Cheese. Kisses, hugs, snuggles. Now everybody looking back at me, one last time. This is the last one. Everybody snuggle. Big smiles. There, there, big smiles. Actually lets hold some outtakes. Kids upside down, or on the shoulders, or sideways. (camera shutter) (giggling) Perfect. Perfect, and done. Good job guys.

All I have to say is - Vicki you are a saint. To handle four kids, dog and their parents too, not to mention a class of students watching...AND YOU'RE TAKING PHOTOS, GOOD ONES!! All I know is, I could not handle that as you have even though I was a teacher for 25 years (K-12, all of them) - and wonderful people like you are far and few between. May you stay healthy and happy and continue interacting with kids and parents - you really have a talent! (I had to turn the sound off on the vid because it was driving me crazy,, with kids, dog, etc etc!)

It was true to life and yes, a bit chaotic. But I enjoyed it, it shows the work that often does go into a session with all the multitasking. I got some great ideas for poses, and learned some new way to interact with younger children. Thank you for a honest session and not a perfect planned one.

Awesome class, really informative, and loved how you handled all the chaos. Great sales and promotional advice from your hubby too. Fantastic, well rounded :)
