00:00:02.04 --> 00:00:04. We're gonna go to the movie mode in order to get to 00:00:04.02 --> 00:00:06. the movie mode we have to put our cameras in the movie 00:00:06.21 --> 00:00:08. mode so flip over that little lever all the way to 00:00:08.62 --> 00:00:11. the movie mode and we're going to see a number of 00:00:11.51 --> 00:00:14. features that we just talked about but you can have 00:00:14.77 --> 00:00:17. him one tailored for live you and then tailored slightly 00:00:17.89 --> 00:00:20. differently for shooting movies because movies are 00:00:20.69 --> 00:00:23. different than still photographs so with your camera 00:00:23.35 --> 00:00:26. in the movie mode the first item is the focusing system 00:00:27.17 --> 00:00:30. for movies and the a f method has the same options 00:00:30.24 --> 00:00:32. we just talked about a moment ago for live you and 00:00:32.71 --> 00:00:35. I'm gonna stick to my same recommendations I think 00:00:35.24 --> 00:00:38. for a lot of basic type video sh...
ooting the flexi zone 00:00:38.48 --> 00:00:41. a f allows you to be precise about what you want in 00:00:41.96 --> 00:00:45. focus and keeps you in control of what is in focus 00:00:45.07 --> 00:00:46. and where it's in focus 00:00:47.82 --> 00:00:52. movie servo a f is something that you can enable if 00:00:52.47 --> 00:00:55. you want the camera to automatically continued to 00:00:55.04 --> 00:00:58. focus and so if you are going to be focusing on somebody 00:00:58.08 --> 00:01:01. or something that's moving you would want to enable 00:01:01.0 --> 00:01:05. this no if it's not moving around you might want to 00:01:05.44 --> 00:01:08. put this to disable but because it's a little bit 00:01:08.27 --> 00:01:10. more dynamic the way we're suit shooting and video 00:01:11.2 --> 00:01:14. enable is my recommendation here but my warning on 00:01:14.34 --> 00:01:18. it is it's not very fast it's very slow in its following 00:01:18.6 --> 00:01:19. a focus. 00:01:21.98 --> 00:01:24. Do you want to be able to focus using the shutter 00:01:24.9 --> 00:01:27. release button on the camera? And so you can either 00:01:27.91 --> 00:01:31. disable this. Or you can allow it to do it's one shot 00:01:31.48 --> 00:01:34. auto focus, where it just tries to gain focus of what 00:01:34.13 --> 00:01:37. you're doing. And it's. An occasional nice tool to 00:01:37.23 --> 00:01:39. have when you want to focus, is convenient button 00:01:39.34 --> 00:01:42. to press to get that, focusing to activate kick in 00:01:43.1 --> 00:01:45. and so it's better to leave. It turned on. I think, 00:01:45.19 --> 00:01:45. that turned off. 00:01:48.08 --> 00:01:50. Grid display is that same type of grade we talked 00:01:50.35 --> 00:01:52. about before it's, mainly for compositional reasons. 00:01:53.12 --> 00:01:56. I would default by leaving it turned off in most situations 00:01:58.08 --> 00:02:00. again, the meter in timer. How long do you want to 00:02:00.46 --> 00:02:03. leave? Timer on? Select the number that works for you. Battery life in accordance with khun convenience.

Great Class! John Greengo is an amazing teacher. I have a t6i for like 6 months and this class helped me a lot. Totally worth the money!

As a student of John's for the past 2 years with the Fundamentals of Photography, the Nikon D3300 and D5500, I recently traded my Nikon D3300 for the Canon EOS Rebel T6i. As always, the training was superb, easy to understand, and I feel better in being able to use a digital camera. The reason for the switch in manufacturers was because of the ease of use of the Canon. I look forward to referring back to the lessons if I need a refresher course. Thank you, John. Your teaching is starting to click, finally.
