Distribution
In this lecture. I'm going to show you some of the emails I received on CD Baby and also some of the places where my music can now be streamed. So the first email I got from CD Baby, which was on Friday and now it's actually Monday was the confirmation. So this was the CD baby purchase confirmation and it has my order confirmation number. It's just really a confirmation that I purchased the CD Baby album submission and the U PC barcode on CD Baby. The next email is saying I need final approval for this music. So all I have to do is click this link to approve this album for digital distribution. So we just need to check that the audio's ok. The artwork's fine, the drama's ok and there's no spelling or mistakes. So I recommend going through and just making sure the audio's fine artwork and all the other things are absolutely fine that it says in the email and that was on Saturday, it's now Monday, ok. And the next email is saying this album focal is finalized for digital distribution. So...
it's saying it's in the queue, it will be delivered to the digital partners such as itunes, Apple Music, Spotify. And here, if you can see below it says you'll be happy that we'll send your music to them within 24 hours if they haven't done. So already also says that the amount of time it takes itunes to make good music available for purchase on the site is beyond their control. So it can take a few days or it can take a max of 1 to 2 weeks. So just be patient if you've waited a few days and it's still not up on itunes or still not up on Spotify, just be patient for me. It did only take three days, but I could have got lucky. It could have been a little bit longer. So please be patient if your music doesn't go up within one or two days and the next email I received was ready, Thomas George Focal and then it says your CD baby page is now ready. So I've got the address. So if I click on this, you can see it's available on CD Baby. So people can purchase this, they can purchase the album, they can purchase the individual tracks all on CD Baby now. And the final email I got was congrats on your new release. Here's what's next. So CD Baby are telling me that my music is now released and there's an article here saying 10 things you should do as soon as you sign up for music distribution. So it's worth having a look at this article that may have changed this email sequence slightly, but it will be similar. I do recommend reading up just a few more things you can actually do. But more importantly, let's go onto the streaming platforms. So like CD baby said is out of their hands, it can take one or two weeks. So please be patient if your music doesn't up straight away. But for me, like I said, it did take three days. So the first one is Spotify. This is the web browser. Of course, a lot of people will be using their smartphones. But for this, I'm just gonna type in Thomas George and you can see here the album Focal has appeared. So Focal by Thomas George, an artist Thomas George. So it's on Spotify, which is great. If you clicked on tracks, you can see some of the tracks are here by Thomas George. If I've clicked on Focal here is the album that we uploaded. So 2018 Thomas George Focal. OK. Next is Apple Music. So I'm actually using link maker. So link maker allows you to create links for Apple Music, the itunes store, the App Store and a few other things. So if you want to send links for promotional material, it's a good thing here. Also, Apple Music is quite difficult to actually search for an artist on there without having their subscription. So I'm just using the link maker here. And I've typed in Thomas George. If we scroll down, we can see albums Focal. So it's on Apple Music, which is great. The next one is Amazon Music. So I typed in Thomas George and Focal you can see has appeared on Amazon Music. And the last one that I'm going to show you is tidal. So tidal as well, you'll notice I searched for Thomas George and here we go, Focal was here. There are a few other platforms, but these are the main ones we're going to look at Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon and Tidal. OK. So this album is now on the streaming sites. I just wanted to show you what happens after you submit your music to CD baby. So thank you for watching this lecture and I'll see you in the next one.
