SubmitHub Setup
OK, welcome to this lecture where we're going to submit a song via submit hub. So the first thing we need to do is head over to submit hub.com and then click on, submit a song in the top left. And here it says, which song would you like to use? I want to upload one of my songs. So I'm going to click on upload a new song and we're going to be focused on Spotify. So here we can use a link or we can upload an MP3. But here I'm going to choose Spotify. So let's click on that and here Spotify will open up. Now, I'm going to go down and launch the web player and find my own song. So I'm going to go on to search in the top left and I'm going to type in Thomas George and here we go find the artist and, and the songs. This one falling out of love part one, this is the one going to use. And here when we go over to the three dots to the right of the song, we can go on to copy song link and you can see up here the link is copied to the clipboard. And now let's go back to submit hub and then just p...
aste the link in here. And here we can see that's here's the song, you can just preview the song there and below it says great. This song will work, but first you need to make an account. Ok? So we need to make an account for submit hub. You can do this by clicking on sign in in the top, right? And then I'm going to actually make an account. Now, you can use Facebook, Google Plus or soundcloud. So I'm going to click on Facebook. So here it says submit hub will receive your public profile and email address. So I'm going to continue here. Ok? So what might also happen is you might get this thing pop up here so that link should work. Can you also upload an MP3? This is so bloggers and play Listers can listen to it on submit hub. The MP3 will be kept private. So everyone will see your Spotify link instead. So they're here and see this link. But this MP3 version is just for bloggers and play Listers. So what we need to do is just submit an MP3 as well. So here's my MP3, just drag that there and it may take a moment or two to load. Can this song be streamed anywhere else added a soundcloud link? I'm also going to add a Amazon music link and then I'm going to add a Apple music link and then go down. So is this track released? It is released was released yesterday from actually filming this and hit next. And then I've added some song information. This isn't a remix. It isn't a cover similar artists. I'm going to add a radiohead link to more music. I'm going to leave that blank for now and then I've added some information about the track and then I'm going to hit next. Then which artist profile would you like to link to the song? I'm going to use mine. And where's this artist from? I'm from the United Kingdom. And then I'm going to hit finish upload. Ok? And then it says, what type of credit would you like to use? And we've got premium and we've got standard so standard is completely free, but it is capped at two credits every four hours to keep bloggers from getting overwhelmed. And there is also no guarantee or response or feedback. But if you choose premium, the guaranteed response within 48 hours, your submission filters will be at the top. Bloggers must listen for 20 seconds before they make a decision. You'll get at least 10 words of feedback before your submission is declined. So I'm going to choose premium because I do like these options. There will be a small cost like I said, standard is free, but I do think it's worth paying a little bit of money for this. You can also see here, who would you like to send to your blogs and channels or record labels? I'm going to choose blogs and channels and then hit next. So there's a price up here. We've got five credits, 10 credits, 30 credits or 100 credits. So it really does depend on how much you want to spend and how much you want to push this out. I'm going to choose 30 credits and here I'm going to enter in the payment details. I'm going to choose paypal and hit next. Ok. So I've just paid for the 30 credits, which was $27 and now I'm going to hit next. Then there's a bit more information. How important is the quality of written feedback for you? This is quite important for me. I think feedback would be useful than if I go down is one or more of these more meaningful than the other. I'm mostly interested in written blog reviews. I'm mostly interested in Spotify playlists. I don't mind. I'm just looking for exposure. I'm going to choose, I'm mostly interested in Spotify playlists because this is really where the eyes and ears are at the moment on Spotify playlists. So I'm going to just select this one down below. Are you comfortable receiving feedback in another language? I am not, I can only speak English. So I'm not going to select any of these but say you do have a second or third language, maybe select one of these. But for me, I'm not going to select any of these. So that's the end of part 14, submit hub in part two, we're going to look at actually getting on playlists.
