Spotify Artist Profile
Hello and welcome to this video all about editing your Spotify artists profile. So, editing your Spotify artists profile allows you to have more customization over your profile. And it also allows you to have a look at things like analytics. OK? Now we're going to set up a Spotify for artist profile. You'll notice here my profile, Thomas George on Spotify is pretty bad. There's not really anything about it. There's no about, there's no related artists and there's no overview. So we want to add mainly the about section. We want to make this a bit more interesting. We we can also add images. So if we go over to Radiohead, we can also see here image of this image in the background. And if we clicked on about, they've got all this information in the biography. It just makes the profile look a lot more professional than just having this boring bland background with nothing on the about. So what we need to do is go over to Spotify for artists. So just Google Spotify for artists or artist.spo...
tify.com. And here all we need to do is just click claim your profile and here we need to find ourselves. So I'm gonna type in my name here and then hit. Let's go. And here again, we need to log into CD Baby and it may take a moment to load and then here we go, Spotify for artists. Just make sure it's your name here or your artist name and click get access. Then all we need to do is connect CD baby to our Spotify account. So just hit. OK. OK. And now we need to select the role. I'm going to select artist, I guess nowadays a lot of artists are the managers and even the label. But for this, I'm just going to select artists and then I'm going to add in the email address. Then you can always look at the privacy policy and the Spotify artist terms and conditions and if you agree with them hit the check box and hit submit. OK? And now we're on the Spotify for artist page. Let's go over to profile and here we can go on about and here we can add an image here, we can add more information. So I recommend just going through and just filling this all out just so it looks a bit more professional. OK? And now I've uploaded the image from here, just hit this pencil tool and you can see here your image was saved. It may take up to 72 hours to update on Spotify. So if I refresh my Thomas George page, now you'll notice there is no image, just give us some time like it says here up to 72 hours. OK? And then we can add more information so we can add links to our social media sites, Wikipedia page and more. And then we can also add a bio. I definitely recommend adding a bio and if you want to promote yourself as well, I do recommend adding some social media links. So I'm just going to add a bio now. OK. So I've just added Instagram and Facebook to the more info. You can also add in Twitter and Wikipedia. And then I've just added a quick bio over time. I will update this. I will make this bio a lot more descriptive. But for now, just for this information, I've just added a quick bio. Hi there, Christopher here. I just wanted to talk to you about the widgets part of the Spotify Artists page. So the purpose of these widgets are so that you can kind of integrate your Spotify artist profile with your website so that you can have, for example, this little box here, if you have a website, which I recommend that you do, um you can have these widgets on the sidebar of your blogs or just featured on different landing pages on your website. So people can just click once to follow you instantly on Spotify. There are many options here as well for the formatting of these buttons and these widgets so you can explore those and choose what works best for you and your brand down here. We also have the Spotify player. So what I recommend with this is that you have a Spotify player of either an album that you have or a playlist that you might have created here. So for example, if we pull Thomas's album, so let's go to focal and click here, copy album link and I'm going to tab over now and paste this link into here, click final call. Now we have this player that we could paste onto Thomas's website. For example, we also have a couple of options here about the formatting of the widget. So if you want a light widget, if that matches your website better or do widget and cover art and list view as well. So just experiment with these different options to find the format that works best for you and your brand. And then all you need to do is copy and paste the code that it generates for you into like a widget on your website or onto the portion of your website that you want it to appear on. OK. Now, if we go over to the audience tab right now, because we've just released this album, there is no data here. So there's nothing to see. However, as time goes on as you get your music onto Spotify playlists, inevitably people will start listening to it and the data about those listens where they've come from the amount of listens, the sources of them, their gender, their age, et cetera will start to populate on your audience. So you can visualize what your audience looks like. There's also some links here that will help you drill down onto your audience and start targeting them quite a bit. So I suggest that you click on, get tips, hear and hear and play your music, et cetera from here. Let's go on to concerts. So if you have any gigs lined up or anything like that, you can integrate those listings from Ticketmaster song kick, Eventbrite, et cetera. I advise that you just go through the process here where it says get tips and learn a bit more about that. OK? So that's how you set up your Spotify artist profile. It's important that you do that so you can control what it looks like because inevitably if someone discovers your song or your album on the playlist and they click through your artist profile, if it doesn't look good, if it doesn't look like you've put some effort in, if it doesn't look somewhat professional, it's just less chance they're gonna follow you, less chance that your brand is gonna make an impression on them. So I highly recommend that you do everything that you can do in order to really communicate your brand through the Spotify artist profile. Thank you for watching and I'll see you in the next lecture.
