How to Get Your First 1000 Streams on Spotify
Hi, Christopher Carvalho here and in this video, we're gonna talk about how to get your 1st 1000 streams on Spotify. So, if you've ever released anything on Spotify, but you didn't quite get traction, you might have noticed that you get that less than 1000 plays caption next to the next to the, uh, track. Now, in general, you're probably not gonna get a lot of plays on Spotify. If you either don't have a massive audience already, you are gonna just definitely stream your music when it's released or you don't get on, get on any playlists if you aren't relatively new and you're trying to get some traction on your release and it's, and it's a recent release. The best thing that you can do now is reach out to independent playlists. The best way to do that is to open the Spot Spotify app itself and just go to the search type in some keywords, keywords that are relevant to your music in terms of genre, in terms of demographic, in terms of mood, any keyword that you think might suit your song...
and find some playlists. Uh, what you'll normally find is that you have to go to like click more or something like that cos you might only see one playlist at the top. So you might have to go more and then make a list of all of the playlists that you find. I would go for the smaller ones, the ones with maybe just a few 100 followers or something like that because you'll find they are more accessible. You'll find that, uh when you click through to the user of that playlist, you'll be able to find that person on Facebook on Twitter or what have you. And sometimes you've got the same profile photo and stuff like that. Now, obviously, at this point, don't just go spamming them with your link. Facebook will probably filter out the message anyway. So don't go doing that. What you should be doing is you should just be going in without the attainment of trying to get on their playlist. You should be going in and trying to nurture a relationship because they might not put you on this time, but they might put you on, on your next song or you know, your, your third release or your fourth release, right? But what's important is that you nurture a relationship with them because that will pay dividends in the long run. If you just go in spamming your Spotify link, you're not gonna get a response, you're not gonna have uh an opportunity to create a relationship with them and you're probably just gonna, you know, piss them off. So, so don't do that, just going with the mindset that you're nurturing a relationship, just ask them maybe what motivated them to make the playlist, how you can support them and build a relationship from there. And then from there, they might be open to giving you feedback or when you come to your next release as part of your sort of pre release strategy, you might be able to um you know, drop them like a private link to your work in progress and see what feedback they have and whether or not they might put it on their playlist next time. So like I said, open the Spotify app manually, search for these playlists and reach out to the creators start with the smaller guys because they'll just be more accessible and more receptive to random artists just hitting them up on Facebook. Hope that's useful and I'll see you in the next video.
