Capture Apps
Let's start the capture conversation. So for this boot camp, I'm using an IPhone with APS. It doesn't matter what camera you have. I just happen to be using the IPhone 12 for my demo. You could be using Ah, Google pixel. Plus, you could be using all sorts of Androids. It really doesn't matter now. The functions I'm going to show you are very specific to an IPhone. However, I assure you, if you look in your camera, your particular device, you're gonna find different or similar. Excuse me, Similar functions. So each app is different. This is really, really important. So I'm not sure many people know this, But just because you're using your mobile device, it doesn't mean you need to stick with the native software to actually capture your picture. So choose your applications wisely. They could make such a huge difference. I'm going to talk about a few of these applications right now. I am for this boot camp. I'm gonna talk about native IPhone app and I'm gonna talk about light room mobile.
However, there is a plethora of different APs available out there for you, So if you want to shoot raw for example, on your mobile device, you can use light room. You can use the 6 45 pro you can use Hell, I'd camera plus pro Camera IRA, and that's specifically camera applications to take your pictures in camera raw format. You can shoot in native, black and white if you choose to, and there's some APS for that. You can also do long exposure with an app, not just the native app for the phone. Now I have Thio do low caveat here about night photography. Uh, previous to the IPhone. 12 dark environments with the IPhone sucked just flat out sucks. But with the IPhone 12, they've made amazing leaps and bounds technology changes to make it better. Um, it's been my experience that a Google pixel plus is a little better for night exposure. But do your own experimentation and you can find out at this point I just want you to know that all this is available for you to do some experimentation and see what works for you. Now, regardless of whatever app you think you want to use, I strongly recommend that you do a comparison, and what I mean by that is actually test each one of thes cameras out with the exact same subject at the exact same time, so that you could make a apples to apples comparison and you'll see here on this particular shot. I think I was using an IPhone 10 at the time. This is an IPhone shot, same exact shot, the same exact moment using light room or and or, I should say, the 6 45 pro and then the moment. And for me, for myself, work hands down the light room camera on the IPhone. My best results ever. So for me, that's the decision I made. But I didn't have to guess. I tried. I didn't experiment. So I really recommend you do that for your own well being and edification.
