Lightroom: Making an AI Preset
1 I don't want to necessarily have to do that over and over 2 and over again every single time that I want 3 to smooth someone's skin. 4 And so what I'm gonna do now is I'm gonna go up 5 to the preset area and I'm gonna click on the preset panel, 6 and that opens up all of the different presets. 7 And I'm going to create my own preset here 8 with this plus button. 9 When I click on preset or that plus button, 10 I can name the preset, 11 and I'm gonna call this standard. 12 No, not standard. 13 It's fairly minimal. 14 So let's call this minimal 15 skin smoothing. 16 Okay, so minimal skin smoothing. 17 I'm just gonna put it in the user presets, 18 and then I'm gonna come to the select option. 19 You can see that I've got lots of options 20 as to what to select for this preset, 21 and I'm gonna drop down that menu and say none. 22 So I don't want to start with anything in it. 23 And then I'm gonna go, 24 I'm not gonna choose profile 25 or anything that I've done to the image. 26 The on...
ly thing I'm gonna choose is the masking. 27 And if I drop down the masking with this little Chevron, 28 it shows me all of the masks. 29 Now there's only one mask, so I click on that mask. 30 But I could choose multiple masks, 31 or I could just choose the one mask 32 if I had all these other masks that were being utilized. 33 So I'm just choosing the skin mask and hit save. 34 So now I have a preset that is specific to this amount 35 of skin smoothing, 36 but not necessarily to this person here. 37 I could go to any version of her, like this one. 38 This is a much different photo. 39 And I haven't even adjusted it yet, 40 but I can go to this preset now, 41 and I can go to my user presets 42 and hit minimal skin smoothing. 43 And when I do it, see how it smoothed her skin? 44 And if I go to the masking area 45 and hover over it, look at that. 46 It chose her and her skin here 47 to smooth that skin. 48 It just did it automatically. I didn't have to go find her. 49 I didn't have to go in and create a mask. 50 I just clicked on the preset 51 and it found the person, found the skin, 52 and did all that I wanted it to with the smoothing. 53 And then I could go in 54 and adjust my image to whatever it is I want. 55 Oh, I'm still working on the mask right now, 56 so let's double click that.

After giving up on Adobe long time ago (for apparent reasons). I decided to go back with my recent coming back to photography. I’ve been a heavy Photoshop user but never Lightroom’s. Since I signed up I was straggling to decide between the “new” Lightroom and Lightroom Classic. It was obvious LRC is more versatile but I loved the modern, cleaner look of the Lr. At the end I am a visual person :). Jared’s workshop made my decision easier and cleared up the question I asked Google repeatedly about managing Adobe cloud storage. A very comprehensive, easy to understand and fun course. Can’t wait to rearrange my 20+ years photo library. Thank you, Jared!

Jared Platt is the best educator when it comes to explaining how and when to use each program in the Lightroom ecosystem. He knows and explains extremely well the pros, cons, and tricks of using LrC, Lr, & LrMobile together. Most people teach each independently. Jared teaches in depth knowledge of how they interact --amazing!
