How to Use the Visual Triangle with Pictures
Ok, so let's talk about the visual triangle with, um fotos that's another way I have a question as she came in from rodal do you have a certain minimum or maximum number of embellishments you like to use? Or is it really just about I appeal on the visual triangle will do you really try to limit yourself to no, I don't I do not think myself and let's talk about that let's look at the next lay out and we'll talk about not limiting myself. It is a great example of a lot of yes talk about embellishment and how crazy it can get. Now the purpose of this play out was to look like a bulletin board, which would be crazy in full of stuff if you're doing it right. Eso how when you have this much embellishment, how do you create that visual? Wait, how do you know where the eyes are supposed to go? What are you supposed to dio? Well, of course, since the photo was always the focus of your layout, we're gonna make the visual triangle with photos so there's a few different ways through this, you can ...
obviously see how I did in this one so let's move some of these clusters around to create different visual weight, and so I have the photo with the clusters as well, and so this is obviously the main photo is going to have the most visually that has all three boys it's bigger, and so we really want this to be the focus, so we don't want it to be somewhere in a part of the visual triangle where it doesn't make sense. So if we have the visual triangle like this, where we made these two photos right next to each other so that they had a lot of visual wait, it kind of confuses the eye and you're not quite sure where to look anymore, and the point is to lead the eye and not to confuse the eye. So what we want to dio is we want to have it somewhere standing alone, and we want to take these smaller photos and make sure that they're standing alone as well. So we have one point, two points, and the third point of the visual triangle would be down here, it's obviously creating an actual triangle shape, and this is how I would start this layout. I would start with the photos, and then I would cluster around and underneath them. And then after I had the triangle worked out in the visual wait where I wanted it to be, then we can start really adding and clustering and and adding all of this title work in all of this craziness so, no, I don't limit myself to a certain number of embellishments. I'd go with what feels good. I have a lot of pages that I've done very minimal work, and we're going to talk about white space. And then I have a lot of pages like this that are just absolutely bizarre and crazy. And I adore them because that's, what it's supposed to look like, embellishments. You're using three hundred d p I yes, ok, um, typically all scrabble kids are going to be three hundred d p I twelve by twelve papers. Um, I know that there used to be some sites that were different, but I think that they've all gone up to three hundred d p I and told by tall.

I have recently discovered digital scrapbooking and have been using a great scrapbooking software that I downloaded on-line. There are limitations with the software that prompted me to look deeper for ideas. Traci's course was fantastic! I learned so much from her not only in scrapbooking layouts and using different elements in a page but my level of understanding of photoshop has improved dramatically. The presentation was easy to follow and broken into perfect chunks to go back and review the techniques. Thank you so much Traci for presenting this awesome course. I will look for more of your courses. Your scrapbooking is beautiful and inspiring!

I'm a photographer. I do a lot of graphic design for my business. I feel like I'm fairly knowledgeable. I saw this class being shown for free on Creative Live one day and it wasn't my first choice to watch, but was the best out of the list... I was wrong. This is a great class. I didn't expect to learn that much and I've been learning a lot! Great info!

Not only did she talk about how to do things in Photoshop [the computer steps] but she also explained art and design tips: what looks good and what doesn't on a page. That was a very nice touch.
