Identifying High-Value Keywords
So how do you identify the questions that your customers are searching for? We do it through keyword research. This is research that is meant to identify the specific terms that are relevant to your business or topic. A keyword is the exact word or group of words also referred to as long tail keywords that are typed into a search bar. We want to get our ads to show up when relevant keywords are searched depending on the context of the search. This can indicate high intent to purchase or interact with your product or service or it can indicate someone early in the discovery process. For example, a term like iced coffee doesn't exactly indicate if they're looking to learn what iced coffee is or if they're looking to purchase one at a restaurant near them. On the other hand, a keywords such as ice coffee at Brooklyn coffee house would more likely indicate someone with high intent to purchase the product or at a minimum engage with ice coffee at Brooklyn coffee house. It is with this under...
standing that we approached the creation of copy for our ads for the keywords of interest here are also three other tools you can use to identify the key words that are being used most. So let me take you through a couple of different tools that you can use when you do keyword research. The first. Pretty simple. So let's go to google dot com and go to google and type in a certain term. We noticed that as we type that term in there's a whole bunch of other words that are coming up. This is called auto fill, google. Auto fill populates this based on what you're typing and how many other people have input. A similar keywords. In other words, the keywords that populate this auto fill are words that are highly searched words by google and it's google's best guess at what you might be actually searching based on what many other people have actually searched. If we hit enter for the search and we scan all the way to the bottom. We see searches related to the keyword that we entered into the keyword search bar. And these are other keywords that are highly searched that are also related to the term that you put in use this as well as an opportunity to identify new keywords that are often searched by your potential customers. Another tool that we can use is Uber suggests Uber like the car company suggest like I suggest you follow along dot org. We can simply type in another keyword term and hit enter Now we can see the particular volume on each search term in this case, this search term gets 201,000 searches per month. The difficulty is out of 100 so 90 out of 100 means it's pretty difficult to organically rank for this particular keyword pay, difficulty is even more difficult and this is the average that a customer or average that a company is paying per click. As you scroll down in this tool. you can actually see the number of searches for this tool by month and see that it peaks during certain time frames. So for terms that might be interesting to you or your business, you might be able to identify if there's any seasonality in that particular search term. And then finally on the bottom there are a number of other keywords that you can use. These are keyword ideas based on the initial keyword that you typed in. As you can see, you can find the trend or seasonality of that particular term, the total search volume by month. The cost per click on average that's paid for those paid ads as well as how difficult it is to rank from a paid or organic search standpoint. Uber suggests is an amazing tool to help with keyword research. But there are also quite a few other tools that are out there. So I highly recommend you do some research yourself on a number of tools from google trends. The google keyword planner, there's a number of other tools that are out there that can be equally as effective. Has this particular tool
