Set Your Objective
once you understand your business, it's time to clearly outline what you need to do or set an objective before we start any type of tactical planning, we need to know what our desired outcome is setting. Your objective is simply getting clear on your desired outcome. In this section, we will discuss types of objectives and a best practice method for setting your objective. So here are five different types of objectives. The first is your business objectives. Your business objective is your high level, broad, company wide goal. This is the objective that says, we will be the number one company that does X 2nd is your marketing objectives? Your marketing objective simply says, what does your marketing need to do in order to reach your business goals? Your campaign objectives will be what each marketing campaign which will have a defined start period and end period that it has to accomplish. In order to achieve your marketing objects. You may have multiple campaigns in one year, then you'...
ll have a channel objective, you will have an objective or goal for every single channel that you employ as a part of your marketing plan. Each will help you to deliver on your larger marketing and business objectives. And then finally, test objectives which are objectives that clearly outline why you are doing a test and what you hope to learn from it. However, it's important to understand that all objectives are not good objectives. You can use this best practice framework to create what we call a smart objective. A smart objective is specific, It's clear and an unquestionable articulation of a goal. For example, I will sell 30% more first. I will just do better next year. Measurable means you can tell if and when you got there or not Example would be get 20% of people to try this new product verse generate. Try a smart objective is also attainable, which means you must have the power to influence the results. You have to understand if it's possible given the resources and time you have available to accomplish something. An example would be setting a goal of producing 10 units per day. But your factory and budget constraints restrict your ability to produce a maximum of seven units per day would not be an attainable goal. It also must be relevant defined by something that fits your business strategy. If your business strategy is to target women, an objective to target men would not be relevant or strategically aligned with your overall objective. And your objective also must be time bound. In other words, you must have a deadline Sell 30% more verse sell 30% more by the end of March would be an example of how something can be a time bound goal. You will have an objective for everything that you do. Now let's take a moment to write down a smart goal for your business challenge that you have identified
