not looking at your results is like driving a car in the dark without headlights. If you don't look at the data you won't know what's really working and what's not sure you can guess or in some cases things may be so obvious but the data doesn't lie. More importantly, the data is how we remove our own personal bias from the evaluation of our success. When we agree on our evaluation of success up front, looking through the data for that particular metric or KPI becomes so much easier. So it's important to know where to look in the data and what it is to look for. So let's take a look at some of the metrics that might be a sign for each particular objective. So for awareness, some metrics we might be interested in would be reached impressions. People who viewed our video mentioned our brand or viewed a page on our website, consideration metrics might be engagement, clicks on a website or clicks on a link, visits to a web page, completed video views, shares of information or post and repe...
at visits conversion metrics could be the number of new leads, the number of downloads of an app. The number of new orders, new customer acquisitions or even repeat purchases and retention metrics could be measured by repeat purchases, referrals and even annual recurring revenue. Understanding how to tell if your marketing efforts are working is key to understanding how to make them better analytics can seem overwhelming and even like a burden of some however, knowing how to quickly read and interpret the data to improve your results is a characteristic of a true business leader.
