The Right Camera

in a nutshell. The right camera is the one that you're actually gonna use. Um, were fortune enough that CREATIVELIVE attracts some very creative and talented people that have amazing cameras and camera abilities and camera skills. So I'm sure some in audience Internet audience people are gonna be producing some amazing videos. But the average business owner has never filmed himself. They've never touched a camera in their own a camera. So I like to teach. Let's keep it as simple as possible because we can always improve. So I have two things to requirements for people. When looking to invest in the right camera. The 1st 1 is always go within your budget. How much are you willing to spend right now? How much is this really worth it to you in your business? If you tube is your entire business, it's gonna be worth a lot more than someone's like. I just need to make a few business business videos to get people into my local studio. You know, that's gonna be that's gonna make a huge determi...

nation of what kind of camera you buy. The only other thing I like to look for in a camera it's some sort of camera that can improve the quality of your audio. In other words, it has some sort of audio jack so we can plug in a microphone and, ah, and improve our audio because most people think if they want to make better videos, they got him. They got toe by a brand new camera. They got to get a super expensive video camera, and that's what's gonna make better quality videos. And in my opinion, that's completely false. The first thing we can do to improve quality videos is improved the audio quality because you can have a masterpiece looking video. But if I can't hear you because the audio save, you hear her bones because it's really echoey and far away. Or maybe there's a plane flying overhead or there's the wind sound. You know it doesn't matter how good it looks. If I can't hear you and it doesn't sound like you are like right next to me, it's not. It's not going. You're not gonna connect with people. Audio is so important. So we always look for a camera that can get an audio jack because you can buy a microphone, which we talked about a little bit for, like, less than 30 bucks. A little wired Lovell ear lamp on Amazon for 20 to $30 on you could always upgrade to, you know, a top of the line $500 microphone as you get better, instead of spending $2000 on a camera, even by better microphone here, three cameras If you have a smartphone and a mill amount you you got a camera. You're good to go the mill amount, By the way, guys allows you to put on a tripod. When your cameras on a tripod, it's gonna be more sturdy and not shaky. And actually the quality will improve. You see the videos that are shaky. They get all way more pixelated when they're uploaded. I love the go pro camera, and this is something that no one else really talks about, because most people are in their like that used the GoPro, the action sports people. But I say if we can make videos on the go showing, like what we do like, you know, walk into the city that they're smaller than your smartphone there about yea big to produce HD quality videos and you could do things like captured dolphins while you're surfing on dolphin camp or film yourself surfing in Costa Rica or jumping off a cliff. Eso I trying to use my GoPro as much as possible. It's more of like my B roll camera were like, I kind of take that wherever I go and I can film fun things. And then I usually put those into my video somehow some way, but you could totally use. This is your full camera. It has its HD. You can get the tripod mount for it. You can get a ah, microphone Jack, for it can do everything. It's it's just an awesome camera and they started, like, 200 bucks. So it's a It's a great little piece of equipment, and I love it for people who are on a budget but want high quality stuff. And then the next option is. I only recommend this for people that are comfortable with the tech or the camera or the photography world, a DSLR and for the business owner that it isn't, we recommend selling That's a simple is is easy, and I don't have this camera specifically, um, but the canon rebel t three I. But a lot of creative, like people are like amazing photographers. And you have a camera that you're using. You recommend most people I talk to. You never touch a camera. Before, I wanted to be simple and easy. So you it always needs to be within your budget and within your camera experience. Because I don't want you getting a camera that you don't end up using, cause you don't know how it's one more excuse that we don't need to waste our time with OK, so we have a time more cool stuff like this. How to choose the right set. How Teoh, how the light your videos of basic stuff like that. Um how did just make him look better? Something really calling a show with you. Call the money shot something. I do it every single in my videos and will be doing that after the break. But we got a question or two before we, uh, we wrap that up for for lunch. There are tons of questions coming through. Okay, uh, we had a couple here. Um, I'm making the video, presenting the video and actually recording it. K g is wondering what her James that on brain and someone else as a presenter on your channel instead of having yourself being filmed? The question is, What about bringing someone else to be filmed instead of your self? The answer's Yes, sure, absolutely. There's gonna be pros and cons with anything like that. If you are a personal brand of coach author speaker, it's not necessarily recommended. You know, I would never bring in someone to replace me. But if if that's not your business, you know, Rainy, you don't. If you're just selling that product, you don't need to be the face of the mill amount. You could get somebody else. Absolutely, um, todo to do it for you. And it wouldn't it wouldn't hurt. The big drawback you're gonna have is that if you want to make more videos, you either have to chase this person down or flying someone else or, you know, whatever. Um and you know, that's why I'm like, I'm always gonna be my brand myself. So I'm responsible for everything where someone else could go do something to tarnish your brand, I guess. But, um, but you can always find someone else to you? Yes. And those talent that talent is abound. So they're out there Any other great questions? Before we, uh we had a few questions around. Just kind of positioning and learning to stand still. We all have have its hands in our pockets touching her here. If you have any suggestions, practical suggestions for learning on. Well, I'm so not the person for this cause I learned the hard way, like, Oh, why am I doing that? Uh oh. Our people are giving me that suggestions. And so that's really even not what I'm looking at. So when other people are like sitting there in the Internet saying, Randy, maybe try saying still like that stuff like, I'm desensitized Teoh. Um, so I'm not the best of that. But I will say that watching your videos, I said you yesterday. You guys have your number one critic no one's gonna be It's harsh to you guys as you yourself. So once you get over it, what? The horrible things you're saying in your head, which I don't like. I don't like how I look a little, Uh uh. No one else is gonna be saying that Not nearly as bad. But what I always do is watch my video like second by second analyzing what can I be doing? Better. You know, like you didn't realize in the moment that you were always looking like this. You didn't realize you were moving around because your mind is doing 100 other things. So it's just about consciously focus for the next video are redoing it. Stand still, do this and have a little on. I'm a huge fan of modeling where not not modeling modeling but but modeling and emulating others. That's why I'm always watching YouTube videos and seeing like gosh, I really like what they did there. I really like what they do with their hands or how they how they opened up that and I I copied them like I am not on original talent person like I'm not this, like on camera, we get, you know, like I had anything that I do is probably something I kind of like modeled er ethically stole or was inspired by from somebody else. So, um, just always kind of be like, aware of how you can make yourself make your message, match your body language 80% of communication is nonverbal. It's that's huge, you know. So even for Randy, like having that that confidence in what you're saying will allow that that message to come across more clear and more easily to your audience.
