Update CC 2018 - Adding Multiple Lumetri Color Effects

in the new premiere Pro CC 2019. There have been some updates to the blue metric color panel. So if you go ahead and open up any clip that you have to follow along. This video is showing you how you can create multiple lou metric color effects right from this drop down menu. So before you can do all of your color grading. So you select your clip, here's a clip from our photography masterclass. Say we want to add a vignette to this clip. We can take our vignette tab, crank down the vignette slider So we haven't been yet. Maybe make it a little bit more feathered, maybe make it a little bit smaller. So now we have a vignette, we can then go ahead and add a completely new lou metric color effect. Now notice what happened in our effects controls panel up here that previously metric color effect was added. If we choose add blue metric color effect. Now we have a reset panel over on the right hand side, in our lou metric color panel, our window and then over on the effects controls panel we ...

have to lose metric color effects. Now we can go ahead and do other color grading? Say we want to change the white balance of this? I think we need to warm it up. Maybe add a little magenta. Now we can do our fine tune editing now. Why would you do this. When would this come in handy? Well first let me show you now we can go between these two effects. We can even rename them. So it's a little bit easier. So let me just go ahead and open the vignette panel. So if I go between these, you can see this is the new effect that we didn't adjust the vignette for and then this is the vignette one. So let's go take the vignette one, click that. Drop down and choose rename. We're gonna call this vignette Now, this is helpful for a couple of reasons. One is we can turn on or off this vignette effect right within this panel and we can go between the two and kind of see and undo different changes. So maybe you want to see what this clip looks like without the vignette. And there's other ways to do this. You can go ahead and turn this on or off, but one other benefit of this is that we can easily copy this vignette from one clip to the next. So say we have this clip and let me just go ahead and take this next part of this clip. I'm going to edit this into two pieces and I'm going to delete these two blue metric color effects that were added. So now pretend this is a brand new clip. What we can do now is go to our effects controls of the first clip, copy that vignette, see how it's in parentheses. The vignette effect that we renamed and then go to our new clip and paste it now. This is good because we want this vignette effect but we might not want those other color corrections that we've made to the other clip. So that's why you want to necessarily want to have all of your effects or all of your grading done in one lou metric color effect. You might want to separate it into multiple, especially if you're editing a clip that has lots of different interview clips, Maybe different interview clips from different days or different people or just different lighting situations. There might be some things, for example, a lot of times if you put an input lut, if you add a lot to clip, you will definitely want to add that to all of the clips on your timeline that uses that same camera. But a lot of the other things the white balance the creative effects that you add the vignettes. Those things might not be exactly what you want across the board for all of your clips. So it's just a cool thing that you can play around with and it might help you with your color grading workflow
