Patch Tool And Content Aware
a lot of times in retouching images, you're doing stuff. I do stuff like this. If I just like, remove logo's from things or remove events, there is a great tool for this, and I don't think it gets enough enough air time. So it's called the Patch Tool, and I'm gonna show it to you. I think it gets neglected, but I love it. The patch tool, unfortunately, does not work on a blank layer, so it's like the one you have to actually do on the background. But the way it works is you just click and drag a selection around something. You want to be kind of generous. So I'm including her shirt here, and then I'm just going to click and drag it to a solution. So like that her logo is gone. So repeat you make a selection with the patch tool. Basically, you define the problem. It's right here. It's a lion logo, and then you drag it to a solution and you let go. And then you commander control D and it's done. So I used that same technique in images like shooting weddings. I was always like, Ah, this v...
ent in the ceiling. I hate it. And obviously when I was shooting, I would try to position myself to block it. But, like sometimes it just wasn't gonna happen. Especially when you're shooting live action events like weddings. So I would spend time later going through and feeling and healing like events. And I will see, I see a little remainder right there. So sometimes you heal something and then or patch it whatever. And then you just do it one more time to finish it. So, like light switches or outlets events I was always fixing. Another cool thing that you can do is make use of something called content aware fill. So I can just select this young lady in my toolbar. I'll go back to that lasso tool. Remember this freehand lasso tool where you could just Oops, Not not The polygonal won the regular lasso. So people often think this tools useless. Like what can you even do with it? This is what you could dio select something just loosely like that. And now I'm just gonna tell Photoshopped Get rid of it. Fill it in by figuring it out. And the keyboard shortcut is sift, delete or you could come up to edit and choose fill. Either way you get here and then it's asking you what do you want to fill this? And we're going to say I want to fill it with content aware material. You just click, OK? And then Photoshopped thinks for a minute, choose on that and then fixes it. Kind of amazing. Now I will say, sometimes it doesn't work out so nicely. Something fails in real life. You may have to do this and then you may have to touch it up. You may have to follow up with a little more retouching. That's normal. I was kind of shocked. I'm always shocked, I'll say in the images that it works in. I'm like, Really? I can't believe it Nailed that in this image and then in an image that I think will be easy for it. It totally bombs. And I'm like, What? So you never know. But it's pretty amazing when it works out

What an unbelievable teacher Khara is. I have wanted to learn photoshop forever but was intimidated, overwhelmed, then I watched this course. OMG I learnt so much, more then I imagined. I am so excited now to start using Photoshop, I can't wait to try out everything she taught us. With the skills we learnt over these two days I think this course provides everything I need to know to feel and more. She was outstanding, the absolute perfect teacher for someone who has never ever used Photoshop. Also great moderation by Kenna. Thank you for this awesome, amazing, wonderful course. I am sure anyone who watches this course will agree it is incredible. I couldn't recommend it more. This course was just Smurfy!

I would highly recommend Khara Plicanic's Practical Adobe Photoshop Basics. The name of the class, implies that the class is for beginners, but that's not exactly true. Most of us learn Photoshop by the features we need to know at any given time. As many will agree, there are a number of ways to get to the same end. I can only speak for myself, but... I would bet that many of us don't know all the strategies that are taught in this class! Check it out, I doubt you'd be disappointed! Khara brings a fun and relatable approach to everything she does. She is very entertaining, while being a superb instructor. Last, but not least... This class brings with it a ton of useful bonuses. Warm Regards, Roz Fruchtman aka @RozSpirations
