Power Networking Networking
now let's talk about networking and a lot of people think networking is about being shiny and charismatic and building relationships. I want to give you a scientific way on how you can decide exactly who you want to meet, to build your personal brand and how you can attract the people that you do want to meet. So they come to you because of how you resonate with the content that you have. Let's start breaking that down, networking is based on authority for someone to want to spend time with you, you have to be worthwhile or notable. So what does that mean? You can break down authority into three components. There is the what? The who and the where? So the what could be, what are you talking about is an interesting topic. The highest authority content is where you're demonstrating how you got something done, step by step in a checklist, like a recipe, I could give you a recipe on how to make chocolate chip cookies and that would have value to you if that's something that you're looking ...
for. So instead of promoting myself, I'm teaching, I'm providing value. I'm not hiding it behind a webinar, I'm just putting it out there freely. That's the quality of the what? One out of 10 points you want 10 every time if you can, there's who, so who's saying it, it could be, you're doing one of our courses on facebook ads and then you hear Mark Zuckerberg say, well blitz metrics has done some of the best work I've ever seen and they're the number one seller of offers ever, in the history of the facebook platform that carries more weight because it's Mark Zuckerberg who has authority on that particular topic versus some random person saying, oh yeah Dennis is good at facebook ads. So who has the most authority in the area that you want to be known for? Not just because they are paris Hilton, not just because they're celebrity, but in the area that you want to be known and respected for who are the people that have the most respect that you can work with and be associated with. The third part is where where is it being said? Is it being said as you're walking down the street and Times Square Is it said on stage at a conference that people respect in your industry. Is it being said in the Wall Street Journal or on CNN I was lucky to be live on CNN talking about Mark Zuckerberg and Senator. We run ads and Cambridge Analytica and that has high authority. So any particular piece of content you can break down into these three components. How much authority is there and what is being said? How much authority and who is saying it and in where it's being said So I want you to stop right now pull out a sheet of paper or a google sheet. Take all of your content that you have, go to twitter and do a search for your name and your company name, do a search on google, go to youtube. Talk to your friends, look inside your phone, look at podcasts, look at customer testimonials for example, you might have people that have rated you well on yelp because you run a small business, those are great pieces of content. It doesn't have to be content that you've produced. Put all of that into a sheet and start to rank them 10 points each on each of these three components of authority. So you're maximum score could be 30 points. Rank all of those and take your top four or five pieces of content and say, what is it about this content? Is there a certain pattern here? Is there a certain person that's there? Is there a certain place I'm at that carries the most authority? And how do I get more and more power out of it Once you have your content here, this is the beginning of your content library. We're gonna next talk about how you can use fiber to be able to maximize the most you can out of that existing content. To be able to build your network and to be able to build your authority
