External Clues to Your Dream Career
So here we are again external clues to your dream career and the cat's out of the bag so what we're doing next so I hope you guys have done your homework and you've connected with hopefully for three people that have answered these questions about you what do you admire most about me? What do you think I do best or what have or wood or do you come to me for help with on what about me makes me nique so those of you who have who weren't here before the break you could do this now I am your boyfriend or go call your sister or you could put it up on facebook if you're really brave and the answers will start coming in and to make it not so scary to essentially asked people to compliment you, you could offer to do it for them once they do it for you. So for those of you who did it, I am hoping that they've had a really great responses about you and I want to hear what they said as well as the common threads between what they said and maybe to what surprised you. I hear from my clients a lot ...
o this friend said this and that was actually really surprised because I don't see myself this way so I love to hear were you guys able to do that on our break here from anyone yes, I don't want to tell me okay uh one of my best friends wrote to the first question she said your ability to pick yourself up and dust yourself off and keep going and then for number two what does she think I do best ability to make people laugh and then number three what makes me unique said your beauty which I like the most of it I love that that's fantastic and I can't wait when you get the other responses you'll be able to see how they overlap and maybe how they're different it's really exciting to kind of get that window into how people see you what should be just don't do very often who else either here or online? Yes jenny I had, uh I asked my best friend and she said that patients is the thing she admired but I always feel like I'm really impatient I don't mean patient with myself, but I was like really happily surprised that she said I was patient I love that so that was a surprise total are you because you don't see yourself that would I be surprised too if anyone told me I was extraction new yorker that's also you know I know it's like it's a big kind of assignment and usually what I give this to my clients they have a week to do this to put this together so we're doing it quick, quick, quick, quick, quick uh so you know, I think just keeping at it following up with people getting like three gives you enough of kind of a sub segment to see you know where it is that and what we're doing. S o that's really exciting as things come in, jake oh feel free to jump and you will do that because we are waving and four alive friends and family finding school we're gonna be so exciting eso until then talk to me a little bit about what this exercise kind of brought up in you guys when you first heard me to tell you to do this what what was going through your head and jenna it's really hard? Teo asked for the compliment innocent and also, um I noticed for myself I've jokes throughout the years I have like a work jenna and a out of work jenna is and so those are the two groups I went to him like, well, who have I worked with? You can speak on that um because I'm in the bucket that I like my day job, but I want a passion on the side and then personal wise I went to those friends for the creative area so it was smart thank you for bringing that up I think that applies to really all of us now that we have multiple personality disorders I sometimes make my I give my client's multiple personality disorders you know it's like think of yourself this way then think of yourself this way and then who are you if you were like this but knowing I'm different at work than I am with my boyfriend or with my kids and so you're getting those is to segment's going to be really interesting to see the lenses that they both see you and then we're going to call on the spot do you mind coming up here? Uh I'm really excited because nicole's boyfriend is on skype come stand by a exciting isn't e everyone I think we're ready what's his name michael michael you ready to talk to michael to get him to answer these questions about nicole likely there. Oh, okay. Yeah yes, you are. Oh, my god. It's like the booming voice from above right, truman show in here I love it. Okay, so we're putting you on the spot michael and literally nicole like standing right here. What do you admire most about nicole and please go beyond the fact that like oh, she's my girlfriend like tell us why she's your girlfriend? Well, that's a really long list oh, what's the first thing that pops in pops into your head that's it her loving nature, her independence, her determination of bravery um perseverance her she has a lot of like stick to itiveness when she decided she's going to do something and she follows it through always um her loyalty she's probably the most loyal person I've ever met she's extremely passionate about my whole life success not just like financial or something like that it's about health and wealth and wisdom you know education, fitness, family then financials in there as well. But it's it's it's like it's not just a single minded success. I love this and I'm so glad we were recording on that. So when you get in a fight with my alright like look at all these great things about me uh, so the next question is, what do you think nicole does best or like, what is it that you come to her have come to her before for health wealth? Anything in particular comes to mind she's my property so come to her with everything, huh? What does he do best? What do you think she does best? Maybe for other people. What do you see me doing for other people, or what do you see other people coming to her to do for them? Um really? I think, uh, problem solving she's just amazing and solving problems, she has a strong moral compass and our ethics so when people have problems, they come to her knowing that she can listen empathetically and understand from their point of view, but also the point of view of the person that they're having a conflict with. S so she can kind of really see both ways and help guide you in the direction so buy for myself, for instance, so I don't put my foot in my mouth. I I refer to her a lot on those things before I get myself in trouble and say something I shouldn't she's also goto a lot with, like, organization she's really good at system izing thing. So as far as like bills or groceries, or even organizing on, you know, small businesses that we've had in the past, she just really get it, putting everything in a functional order so that we can we can follow through on on whatever it is that we're setting towards. Oh, seems like she's your life coach and also like your personal organizer, maybe it's so great is any of this surprising you, nicole? Some of them it's, it's just really nice to hear a little overwhelming, but there's a standing here and listening to it's really, really nice, but some things, but I think I okay, nothing like a big surprise that you're like, that doesn't sound like you're not yet ok there's still time my girl there's one more question what about nicole makes her unique so you already told us all of her great personality traits and attributes, but is there anything that you're like? Oh, this is this sort of stuff is is not very common or this is her unique mashup of personality trades? Sure, well, I haven't told you all I mean, look at her she's beautiful ever I mean, her personality, her laughter, her smile that I think she's just amazing person if I had to choose one unique quality it's gonna be one that's not surprising to her, it would be as a mentioned or the her ability to list empathize with people that I find that at work and friends or be gone with, you know, a friend of mine and he's housing, new girlfriend or something by the end of the night that girl is texting her, you're asking a relationship questions or she's has this uncanny ability to to get people to trust him very quickly and to listen to them without judgment do you set out to do that? Nicole? Is that like, I don't know any sort of conscious intention of yours when you meet new people or you're out with people or anything not to me not really I don't really try to but I do know from previous experience is being in a situation where you just want everyone to feel welcome and I feel that listening and engaging with people makes them feel comfortable in part of the group and that's what I want people to be let's all feel like we're together we're here we're all doing this that type of feelings I love this and we're gonna hold on to all of us thank you so much michael when nicole gets home she's gonna do this for you and you could record it if you want teo would be amazing thank you so much for joining us um is there anything else that you want to come in on that? Michael said that was either I don't know mr price really rang true for you um I mean the listening as some of some of the stuff I guess I don't fully you look at yourself and you don't fully believe well, I might do that people might feel that way, but I'm not really fully sure that that's something that I see myself s so hard to trust a little bit where I say saying and sometimes too I've gotten clients who've asked me like, is it allowed to talk to a family member of my husbandly? Is that cheating right? And I think a lot of the times they're actually we're honest people that don't know us that well way have thio going back to trust right trust it's the hardest thing about this process so we're taking this in and where trusting it and I think just in general it's easier for us to internalize the negative feedback we've gotten in the rejection we've gotten that we take to heart but I have a tendency to bounce off of you know, the compliments that we get in the nice things people say and to say like no that's not me o o or that it's not a big deal or like really me and quickly and we need to stop thank you so appreciating you could get out of the hot seat yeah, okay, so on that no to expand on this exercise and you just you need to do this in general right? Whether you're having trouble with this exercise or not this is this is a must you need to start your wind book. Okay, so this is a tangible place it could be an actual notebook physical notebook it could also be I'm a g mail folder it could be my one book lists and ever note uh it could be a word document on your computer it's a place where you collect your compliments and you're thank you's and from other people and you could add to it your own accomplishments so when you know that like oh my god, I got my website long sure oh my god, I got my first client or oh my god, I signed up for that training whatever feels like an accomplishment you add it to your wind book and not only is it they're for like when you have those days that you just feel like, oh no, things were gonna work out, I'm so horrible about what I do this it like we all have those days hopefully it doesn't last for much more than a day we have our one book to go to toe build us up, but we also it's such an important tool and creating your dream career because once you start putting all these things in one place, you're seeing the common threads you're seeing what people say over and over and over again. So for nicole, what michael said was all about your listening and you're and you're empathizing and you know, it could mean that like, if you hear that from other people, sure you could go be a therapist, you could go be a life coach, but you don't have to take literally what people say and then turn that into a career, but you just know that's part of who you are that makes up your unique, witty and, you know I mean for me sure I'm the one I grew up coach, but I do this because I'm a relationship builder and my communication skills and building relationships are the most important things to me and so I make sure to bring that into the work that I do no matter what without me being like a relationship expert or ah thera best or whatever it is so it just gives us that inner compass gives us a way to brand our businesses for those of us who are looking to bring more authenticity and more of our personality and so what we dio the wind book is a really great way to say, oh, people seem teo, you know, notice how much I have listened I should make sure that I communicate that on my website or with my clients or for me, I've been told over and over again I'm gonna own it that I enthuse people with optimism and energy so I get the compliment all this time for my clients that at the end of the session and they're like, oh my god, I could do everything and I want to do the thing then they're bouncing around cause I'm probably bouncing around esso I know that that's that's what I want in my branding and my marketing and my copy so it's a really, really great place for all of these things did we get anything in the chat yet about these friends and family findings? On what people have heard? Some of the common thread, some of the surprises. Well, I think they were too wrapped up with your boyfriend. Actually way. Got lots of great come is what guy wanna nice guy would have. Well, what a keeper. Accept me when you get the recording. He could have that to hold against you. That's not so true. When's the wedding somebody else's eso no, I think our audience got a little boy it's ai wei want here? We want to hear at anyone else here, have any anything that you ask? You never, uh, I asked a friend of mine and she talked about strength and resilience. And I thought that was interesting because she's talking about the time that she's seen me when I've been going through something traumatic and how I've still been able to kind of see the best in it and stuff like that. But it's interesting to see it from somebody else's perspective. Because those are the times when I feel the least strong and it's nice to know that somebody you know, sees that's that's amazing, and we often just don't give ourselves credit. I can't see that again. It's, my life coaches have life coaches. I feel like it's so hard to get inside yourself and be able to say what people see and what do I project and people come and help me with on. I have to just add to that to the things that you end up discounting. You could ask yourself, what do you people come to me for? What do I help them with what I find myself doing that gets a lot of thanks and appreciation. And the things that usually come the easiest us which feel easy are the ones we discount the most. So if you know that, like you just helped your friend go to a vintage clothing shop and put together a fabulous outfit for thirty dollars, that is such a talent of yours. And that could be something that could be part of your dream career. But we have a tendency to say like, oh, anyone could do that. Anyone could know if you find yourself saying anyone could do that that's where the magic is we need to pay super big close attention to that. Like big, circled, blinking life's marquis stuff, yes, si, si. I got two replies on fly, so I appreciate that yeah, one of them was from my best friend, so I'm not going to read hers because I'll probably start crying on here and I don't do that, okay? But I'm definitely going to add it to my wind book and I think I'm going to do a pinterest one because I like to wear my jewellery also, I think to put the pictures of them wearing it in a dish into some of these comments are really nice, but my friend that went with me to craft vacation, which is where I actually first saw you wrote that my ability to make things happen, which was the thing ah and she's seen me take risk over the past year and basically at that event somebody said, oh, you should do this and gave me a suggestion about my brand and I was like, oh, yeah, I'm gonna do that and I ran and she was like, literally the next day you had a new website, you had this and you had that, so I appreciate her saying that reminds her yeah like because so when you get yourself into that spiral of doing what you can do it, I don't follow through I'm lovable like that that's that's proof you're able to remind yourself of those moments where you took it and ran amazing super anything anything else like charity thing is saying a lot of people my best friend my aunt my sister said that I have the ability to relate to anyone and I'm wise from my age without being unrelated ble to younger kids interesting a comedy gumball machine who we heard from earlier on in the segment was saying my friend in the u k didn't email me back but I have my mom's responses which are admire she admires kindness, her openness and her love and the best ass tribute is that she's a good christian a human being? The best attribute is kindness absolutely on amanda elizabeth say my best friend and my boyfriend said that they both have my right my ability to balance work school life I love that you love that so lookit lookit all the variety right and what people are saying so you know again it's easy for us to just oh that's what let's say to everyone I know everyone says they're kind of everyone you know everyone says they're beautiful is no it's not it's it's for you it's for you this is what you're putting out there and we need to just start soaking in our compliments away we soak in our rejections a lot of the times yeah there's a one line song in the threshold choir repertoire that is won't try to sing it but I will believe the truth about myself no matter how beautiful it is oh I love that that needs to be a quote pens heiress and that everyone pin the kind of late to get out that to the wind book to remember right when people say these beautiful things about you you need to believe them and trust them and that builds up our trust to trust is not something that happens overnight it occurs over time and it's a big catch twenty two as you normally can't get the trust for the thing that you want to be doing until you start taking those baby steps and doing the work so that's what we want to encourage everyone to be doing big time limiter winterbourne yang a friend a friend of mine has said this one your imagination the things I've seen you draw right about I wish my mom hafiz vivid is yours and to your drawing you have real talent there and three your quirky you think outside the box as the cliche has it sounds you march to your own beat I love that I love that and sometimes with a unique lady peace we get really caught up because we think oh my gosh my munich witty is a made up word that I made up it's part of my u nicoletti uh that you know we say like oh well other people have these attributes and other people and it's not unique and I'm not special because I make really amazing chocolate chip cookies and could put together an outfit and a vintage clothing shop for thirty dollars, you know, we tried a kind of state ourselves like I need to reinvent something I need to come up with something new and different and that's what makes me unique and really it's just it's just b s it's just because right, we're all our own snowflakes, and I know that like you could do a you could do a uh uh project right now, I'll take you five seconds for those of you guys at home, open up google and type in quotes, creative career coach and you were going to see pages and pages and pages of creative career coaches hopefully, um, at the top of the list, but click on, you know, new tabs for the first five people and look at all the people who were calling themselves creative career coaches, but look at our branding and look at our copy and look at our offering so it doesn't matter how many people are doing what you're doing, which is why I always say that I don't really have any competition, even for people that are doing career coaching with creatives. Because I know that my enthusiasm and my use of the word on these balls there it is again stasis keeping, keeping track of how many times I say amaze balls we could probably way could probably, like, have a have a pole or something, or that sami's balls playing my pink ukulele. Like some people, I'm sure just don't take me seriously, uh, might find me annoying, you know, and that is totally fine. They could go find the creative career coach with bay, resonate with, and that actually makes my business better and stronger, because I'm keeping away the people that I don't work well with. And so that has allowed me to really escalate my business, because everyone that I'm talking to, we're speaking the same language. We understand each other, and then I'm able to do such a great job for them, that they tell other people about me. So it's a total win win.

This class was sooo incredibly fun and inspiring. It was wonderful to meet Michelle and interact with her in person. She is warm, kind, approachable and genuinely passionate about helping creatives find a career they can love. Having been raised to believe that the only route to a secure retirement was to find a job with a pension or, at least, a good 401k, this class gave me the courage to believe that I could do work I love and still finance a fabulous life in retirement. It also put things in perspective because it helped me to see that I deserve to be happy as much as anyone else who has carved a successful niche for themselves doing work they feel good about. And, it reminded me that if I try something and discover it isn't the right fit, the worse that can happen is that I go find that job with a pension at that point. So what? Why not me? Amen! xoxo, Jen

My dad used to tell me, "You don't get to do what you love. You just learn to love what you do." For years and years, I've been wandering from job to job wondering why I just wasn't feeling the love, no matter how much I learned to be good at what I do. Although, I tried to resign myself to the idea that work would always be something to dread day in and day out, I couldn't help but day dream about the elusive "perfect" job! I searched for years for tests or counselors who could help give me some direction as to what I would be good at and just before I lost hope, I found this class. I snuck it in during work on my cellphone (shh don't tell lol) and was running back to my desk when I had to be pulled away. It's nice to know someone understands what I've been going through and Michelle's energy is just so positive and motivating that I know that I can make things happen! I watched the free live broadcast but even before the end of day 1 I knew this class was a resource I'll gladly pay for! I would and have recommended this class to many people I know feel the same way I do! Changed my life! We're not made to fit into a mold so why not create your dream career! My review in one word? Amazeballs!

I purchased this course and made sure to finish it before 2015 started. It was so easy to go through the course and I made sure to be diligent in actually doing the activities and homework. I never knew there were other MULTI-PASSIONATE out there like me! I thought I was just a confused human being who needs to figure out her life! Haha! Michelle's energy and passion to help others are so eminent in the way she presents and guides us. I love the setting of Creative Live as well because I felt involved with the studio audience despite having to watch these sessions by myself. :) I learned so much about myself, about how I can incorporate my multiple interests into a unique ball of career perfectly molded for me, by me. All thanks to the help and wisdom of Michelle's experiences and talents. What a great end of 2014 and a great way to start 2015! THIS COURSE IS WORTH YOUR TIME AND MONEY. :)
