Leaving the House for the Ceremony

One more? Just a couple more, actually, just that. That's it? Yeah. And just hand it to Talisa. Talisa, can you straight-, yeah, just movement without pulling her hair, that's it. Okay, Danny? Looking forward, and you're walking down. Yeah, walk down. (camera shutter snaps) Slowly darling, slowly darling! It's not a normal day, okay. Beautiful, okay, let's go, let's get married! All right, hold on, let me get on this side. It's okay to be fashionably late! Casey and Jo Jo, ♫ Let's get married! How 'bout marriage songs in the car? (car drives by) Turn toward the car and look down. Okay, that's good. (low talking) (car motor revs) (excited chattering) Danny, stay on this side. Danny, stay on-- Roll it down a bit, and then here. I can't really, ow! (women chatter excitedly) Hey Danny? Yeah? Give me a smile! I can't breathe! I'll see you in a minute! (laughs) Close the door now? (car door slams) (camera shutter clicks) Perfect, and look over there, t...

hat's gorgeous, Danny! Stay there, sweetheart. (camera shutter snaps) Beautiful, yeah. And look over there. Tilt your, yeah, that's it. That's very, turn towards me and look here, Danny. Relax your shoulder, sweetheart. That's it, perfect, stay there. You look amazing, Danny, let's go! Okay, you see, Danny was a typical bridezilla! (laughter) She is one of the girls who comes, and they say, "Yeah right, this bride is doing some acting, you know? "Why is she doing?" And she did everything that she had looked at other brides, she did it herself, you know? She was so obsessed with everything, so this wedding got one year to get prepared, so we heard more about her wedding than our clients. So, but it's a girl's dream, so let it be. You know, so this shot, walking down the step, you see I put them there. She didn't want the picture there, because she didn't liked it, but I think it was a great moment for her to walk down, and the expression, you know? Movement, walking down, and capture it. This is, look, 6,400 ISO. Grain, I added to it. To created more, but what I wanted to achieve, what I saw when that staircase was this, a bit of movement, so it will compliment into the album, you know? Just a bit of the details of the dress and just movement. So that was natural movement, but I added a bit more to it. Are you concerned at all about continuity between images in your album? Yes, 100%! About the grain being similar? Yes, I need to have continuity of the whole thing from the start to the end, and tell the story. Yeah, they're going to be one or two pictures that are not going to fit in there, and I won't put it in. I need to tell the continuity of the day. It's so important, so important. I'm telling her the story, you know? When I show her the albums, I tell her the story she wants to hear, my version of it. "This is you, your father next to you, and things." It's very important. You know, I saw this reflection through the outside the car window, so it's a reflection, but the good thing was this greenery in the background, so it was good angle. If that wasn't there, it could have been a white sky, it would have been boring. But that greenery on the side, then inside the car. On an angle, so try to capture different angles, because not every one will go in the album, the one she likes, but give her variety.

I am SO grateful to CreativeLive as well as Yervant for taking the time to put on this class. So many times while sitting in this class I thought to myself "what have I been thinking?!" I have so much to learn! I loved hearing about Yervant's process for creating images, but what inspired me even more was his advice on how to view, and treat yourself as a professional. I completely agree when he said photographers are creative but we are "terrible business people." But I aim to change this in my business from this point forward, thanks to this class! Yervant's advice on how to value, protect, and sell your art is priceless. I have always valued printing and creating products clients can hold, but I don't think I understood the real emotional value in it until this class. When he pulls those images we just watched him create for the last two days, off of that printer, and they are there before our eyes, I had an emotional reaction to it. I want my clients to experience the same, so I must value it and create opportunities to educate my clients. Thanks for the kick in the pants that we all needed Yervant! And I hope this will not be the last time I get to experience your education in my life. I said this many times to other students during the class, but I will say it again here, I want to carry a mini Yervant with me every where I go! Thank you Creative Live and thank you Yervant!

Yervant’s ardent love for wedding photography and capturing his brides in their best light is unquestionable. His love for this photography community and his regard for our respect in the world hierarchy is without reservation. Yervant’s willingness to share his knowledge and skill for all these things to come together is beyond generous. These are some of the things that help Yervant to effortlessly stand out as a photography master and this is exactly what this class is about… plain and simple.
