Scaling: The 3 Ways to Grow a Custom Audience
wow! All right, so you've heard us say it a few times by now that custom audiences are the crown jewels of facebook but they're ironically also the bottleneck when it comes to targeting because custom audiences are based around the if then triggers or basically people that are actively in your funnel, you're almost always going to be limited by audience here and like we talked about, it's better to be limited by budget than audience. So as you start running ads, you're gonna likely discover a few custom audiences tend to perform really well and I want to share with you three ways you can grow your custom audiences to effectively scale these winning ads. Alright, so way number one, extend the timeframe. If my 20th day website custom audiences just smashing it, I might open up the time frame little by little, I can run a 60 day and day and eventually 180 day website Tasmanians by doing this, I'm able to spend more money and have more people to show my ads too. Way number two working ups...
tream, let's say my 20th day website custom audiences again performing great. Another way to grow this custom audience besides tweaking the timeframe is to work upstream by this, I mean increasing the ad spend against, adds one step up in the funnel. So for example, maybe I have some ads that are driving trying to drive clicks to the site and I'd increased spend against the ads that are giving me the best cost per click. So this way I can grow the custom audience at the bottom of the funnel that's already converting or if my facebook page engagement audiences do really well, I can increase spend against ads that gave me the best cost per engagement. Maybe you find that just targeting fans of the page converts, you want to set up some ads, taking one step up to help you get new fans. So in essence you can grow any custom audience by taking one step back in your funnel. Alright, third last method is creating combo audiences. If I'm dealing with a lot of small custom audiences, rather than have 10 different ad sets of 1000 people each, I can combine the custom audiences into one ad set. We call this a mega custom audience is targeting anyone who's engaged or watch the video or been to the side or as a fan of the page, et cetera, funneling these audiences together into one grouping will lower your overall CPM. So rather than trying to hit each of them separately, it's a great tactic to use when you have clients who have small custom audiences is bundling them together, keeping your data in one ad set. So now that we've covered how to grow your custom audiences, let's discuss how much spend each audience can sustain
