How to set up Amazon Affiliate Links and where to put them

OK. Now let's talk about the Amazon Affiliates program. So if you don't have your own products to sell or your own merchandise, you can always sign up to the Amazon Associates program or the Amazon affiliate program. And according to this website, you can get anywhere between one and 10%. So what this means if someone clicks on a link of a product that you recommend on Amazon, you can get anywhere between one and 10%. Most of the things that I recommend are either the 5%. So musical instruments or even 6% for headphones, that kind of thing. For example, if I'm doing a video on youtube, I might say buy the same microphone I'm using now with this link and for a £500 microphone, for example, I would get maybe five or 6%. So around about 25 to £30 if they click on that link and then buy the microphone I'm promoting. So using these Amazon affiliate links can be useful for your youtube channel or your website. I'd only recommend stuff that I genuinely use or actually really like, I wouldn't ...

go and advertise any bad products or advertise any products that I don't recommend. The good thing is Amazon is so popular. If someone sees an Amazon link, I don't think it's dodgy because everyone knows Amazon. So you can just Google Amazon affiliates. I'm in the UK and there is a UK affiliate program. But to be honest, I normally use the amazon.com Associates programs. So the affiliate program for the US because for my education business, I actually have more students in the US than in the UK. But it really depends where your fans are based. If most of your fans are based in Germany. For example, you might want to sign up for the Amazon affiliate program in Germany, but I'm going to use the US one. So you can just click on here join now for free. This won't cost you anything to join Amazon Associates or the Amazon affiliate program, but I do actually have an account. So I'm going to log in now. OK. So narrow on the dashboard and all you need to do to set up a link is go over to this section here, search and create links for products. You can also create short links. So for example, I'm going to type in a keyboard that I use, which is called the M audio Oxygen. And then go over to go and there we go. This is one of the keyboards that I use the Oxygen 49. So it's a USB keyboard for music production and composing music and then click on get link. And now what I do is actually go over to text only cos I just want the text for my youtube channel. Then we just go down to this section here and we have the html, the standard link or the short link for youtube. I really want the short link. So I'm just going to copy this and then I've just pasted this link into an incognito window and here's the keyboard. So if someone buys this keyboard through this link, I would get around 5 to 6% of the sale price. So let's go back to this main window and choose another product. So I'm going to choose a more expensive one Sony A nine, which is a camera that I use. Obviously, this is a lot more expensive. So if somebody buys its product through your link, you'll make a lot more money. It doesn't have to be high priced products. It could be much lower priced products. But like I said, I only recommend doing this for products that you actually use or will help or benefit your customer or fan. Let's just try one more, something less expensive. Let's try uh man auto tripod. So this one here, this Pixie mini tripod, you can go on to get link and text only and then go down to a short link. And here we go, we will get around 5 to 6%. If somebody buys this product through your link. Let's just paste this into a new window. And if they click on this link, you get around 5 to 6%. Obviously a product that's only about $17 or so will not be as much money as a camera that's over $3000 but it can add up and your customers or fans are probably a lot more likely to buy a product for $17 than for £3000 from a link. So this isn't just for camera equipment or music equipment. You could do this for clothes as well. And if we go back to the commission, you can see here 7% for clothes and accessories. So you can make a bit more money if you're advertising clothes. So say, for example, in your music videos, you always wear maybe the same trainers or sneakers, you can maybe find these exact trainers. I'm gonna type in Nike Jordans for example and see what comes up. And let's just say for this example, you always wear these shoes and these are your favorite shoes to wear. You could get the link for these. So let's go on to text only and go on short link. These trainers are still quite expensive. They're 100 and $95. You could use this link on your website, your youtube video. Your fans may want to wear the same clothes as you if you are very fashionable and that's kind of part of your image and part of your style. So that's how you can use Amazon affiliate links for your website or youtube channel or other places where your fans can actually buy certain products that you recommend and you will get a commission if they buy the product through that link. Like I said, though, I only recommend you promoting products that you actually use or wear or really trust and believe in, don't start promoting products that aren't very good. So that's Amazon Associates and how you can set up Amazon affiliate links. Thanks for watching.
