The Importance of Video

Hi. In this video, we're gonna talk about video. So the reason we're gonna talk about video for you as a music artist is because you can't not do video. If you're a new music artist and you want to build fans and get the attention of people on social media, you can't not do video. Ok. The cool thing about video is that we all have video production studios in our pockets via our smartphones. It's quite easy to make video. The good thing is as well that especially on like Instagram, Facebook that you don't have to make like ridiculously high value production stuff if you can do that, definitely do it and that will serve you well on things like Facebook and that will serve you well on platforms like youtube. But when it comes to making content on a daily basis on Facebook and Instagram just make as much video as you can. It doesn't have to be great, doesn't always have to be a full on music video, but you gotta do it. Even if it's just you documenting your process, you're talking about th...

e release that you've got uh coming out ahead of time. Gigs that you're doing. It's all good stuff. It means you're just turning up on the feed of your fans every single day. So they never ever forget about you. That's what a lot of this stuff is about. That's what kind of success is about in many aspects. It's just turning up. Ok. And if you're turning up every single day, if you're building your fan communities online and delivering them content that entertains them or gives them escapism, you know, just makes them laugh or makes them cry, give that to them every single day. And it's just as easy as you telling a story or documenting something funny that happened and just posting it on Facebook and Instagram. Um but when it comes to the higher production stuff, you could definitely do that. Music videos are great or cover songs or anything like that. Um That stuff can go on on youtube as well when it comes to official music videos and lyric videos. Um You could do a mixture of both. You might reserve your budget for high production uh music videos for your proper releases and stuff like that. But if you don't have the budget or if you don't have the time, you can easily do just lyric videos, OK? Where it's just your song and then maybe just a sort of blank background and just the lyrics uh on the screen and you can easily mock that up using an app on your phone or maybe imovie or something like that uh or Windows movie maker or any just cheap or free uh video editing software that's available to you um on your computer. So yeah, the point of this video is just definitely go all in on video on all of the different social media platforms because like it's like kind of like I said before, like you're not just a musician, you're not just a music artist, you are a brand and your brand needs to be turning up on people's feeds every single day and providing them content of value and that value might be different things. Like, I mean, I know someone who um is a pastry chef and like, they kind of integrate that with their social media output as well. So anything that you've got um anything that you might, that you feel might add value or entertain or just, you know, provide to your audience, you should definitely do that and fuse it up with different things and uh keep people entertained. Hodas useful and I'll see you in the next video.
