Adobe Sensei – It’s Magic
Adobe sensei is a core feature of Lightroom and other creative cloud applications. It is a spectacular feature, in fact, it's almost magic and it does a few things, number one, it does auto tagging and key wording and so you don't have to add keywords to your images. I will show you that in this session. It will blow your mind. The other thing that Sensei does is also in the edit module when you're editing photos, it has, it uses machine language and, and artificial intelligence to figure out the best way to edit your image. It's pretty groovy. It also will help you choose the best images in your lightroom library. It will look at all your images and say these are the best ones that sort of also a fun feature. And then something else we're gonna talk about a little bit later on the enhanced feature, All of this stuff is powered by the cloud. So artificial intelligence, machine learning all that stuff that's happening on the servers in the cloud that happens and you can use it on your l...
ightroom. And so uh, this is sort of crazy what happens here. So let me just give you an example. So normally you would go in here and so here is Karissa, she's got a blue dress, it's a portrait. Normally when I would enter something, I would add a bunch of keywords Karissa, blue dress, brunette model, phoenix, whatever I added all those in the keywords, but notice I have no keywords here. None at all. Um, and for like this, there's there's one keyword spain and this one right here, there's a couple, but this doesn't say it's water or lake or anything like that, but watch what Sensei does. So almost all of these photos have no keywords. I just added them. I can go in here and search for something. So I'm gonna just search for water, water and all of these photos that come up of water. Adobe sensei analyze these in the cloud and figured out these all have water in them. And so if I look at one of these, I'm gonna look at this guy right here, look at the keywords. Water is nowhere to be found in any of these keywords. So Eileen chile and Patagonia are there, but water is not On this one. Glacier and Patagonia, but water, none of these have water as keywords. So Adobe sensei has figured out these are all water or I'm gonna go in here and I'm just gonna type in a color. So I'm gonna type in red and it's going to go here and it's going to find things that are red or if I type in, let's type in a different color, let's type in blue. It's going to find all the stuff that's blue or I can say what about some mountains? Where are my mountain photos? Boom, here's a bunch of mountains and it's crazy. So um, sometimes things don't turn out correctly. So for example, if I type in dog, you get a picture of this right here, which is a dog and this picture here is a dog. But in that little picture there, which is a dog. That's crazy. I didn't even realize, but this clearly is not a dog. So that's sort of funny that you'll see that uh, this Emily is not gonna be happy that she came up with a dog search and these are clearly not dogs. So it's hit or miss on some of these things, but it's a very, very quick and fast way to find things and you don't have to do any kind of key wording for this to work. I can't even type in, let's just type in rain and see what we get and so on rain. None of these are correct except for this, uh, this one. So you can see that there's rain in this alligator photo. And so it's sort of fun. It's something that you can play with a little bit. But what will happen is, um, at first when you start putting your photos in Lightroom and their sync to the cloud there analyzed. But the longer they're there, they're analyzed more and more and the more adobe sensei analyzes more of your photos and other people's photos and learns it gets better and better and better at figuring out what's in your photos. And so if you're sort of like me and you don't like adding keywords you're a little bit lazy about it. Lightroom CC will save your bacon because it automatically figures all of this stuff out for you. Well, there are more ways to go and figure out where your files and folders and all that stuff. Your images were, how they're organized and that is with the people view and the date view. So let's look at that next.

What a great class! I've started & stopped a few Lightroom classes up until now, but generally gotten bored, confused or felt I needed to step away to learn something else like Adobe Bridge first. Mark is a great instructor, engaging, specific & very clear with his explanations. I finally feel confident to play in Lightroom instead of feeling constantly overwhelmed by what I don't know!! Awesome! Thank you, Mark, you've also inspired me to dream about travelling again now the world is opening back up :)

I'm glad I bought this course. It was very basic but just what I wanted. My plan was to see if Lightroom could replace my current Lightroom Classic. Some of Lightroom functions are fantastic it looks like many of the functions I use with Lightroom Classic are just not there. So in short Mark answered many of my questions.
