8 Posting Ideas
Let's jump into eight posting ideas, and Jen actually hit on a few of them. So I'm gonna talk to you and spend some time on each of these. Thes are eight, and there's there's so many more and I just want to focus on eight, so I don't completely overwhelm everybody, but we touched on some of them earlier. First of all, everyone should have a happy client or customer. Were you not in business? I mean, you're in business to make money, and if it's not a customer that's buying something, it's a client that has hired you for Your service is so I think this is really the easiest post to make and whether or not you want to be in your picture. I like to be in pictures you might not like to be in pictures. I jump in pictures with all my customers. It's an opportunity for me to just show what I'm wearing and to be a part of the conversation. So in this particular picture, the background is my store. I have a happy customer that just brought this great dress, were both rocking out with the rope o...
f Maine bracelet, which is one of my most popular bracelets that I sell. And, um, it's like she just bought that dress. How could you not be happy? She was just, you know, put it on like a looks good. Get over here. We take a picture. So look it. I mean, she's smiling, She's beaming. It's a great photo, and it gives people the opportunity to see the background of the store to get the feeling of the store. It's as I said, very KP. And, um, I thought that was a great picture. So I shared it for my service based business. The picture might be me at a conference, sharing the experience of being at the conference together. It depends on your setting of what your business is. I don't want this all to be focused on product based businesses because I am very conscious of the service based businesses, too. And I really think you can come up with your own creative strategy. This one just works really well for me every time someone buy something and I mean every time s so I have a ton of photos for Sue be doo, and it works for May. Maybe we could have our students brainstorm a little bit on how each of these posting ideas might work for their business. Great idea. Good. Really good. Yeah. So how would you then do this tactic of the happy customers? Yeah. Yeah. Who's your happy customer? And well, how would you portray that on instagram? Um, well, I do. I refurbish furniture. So it was an old desk or something. And then it turns into anything. So I actually work for I give the pieces to Limit, has a little shop called the Walrus. And so I told her when you know, does it have a happy home? So I asked her toe, you know, take have them see the furniture and its new happy home and, uh, put it back on that. And does she Does she give you? She just did. And this was before I mean, to be honest with you, Instagram with something I used because it was a cool square, and I like the borders. I had no idea before this thank you room with just a square with a groovy borders that I couldn't get on another thing. Yeah. Yeah. So So you're going? So do you now that I know that exist. I mean, I knew what to do, get ideas or a feedback from customers, but I had no idea where to place it. So now I can marry the two things you can and you can use dip, tick to show the before and after. Yes, and you can actually write on their in text before and after or or even if you were gonna get into the video tomorrow but a 15 2nd video showing that could you play post and I you know, I'll put it on my Facebook or I'll put it on the But I had no idea that that I didn't know People talk back to you before that. Yeah, before, before this that they don't well, that I told you. I mean, people are double tapping all day. That's really easy school. And the comments is what it's all about. And the repost is. People think I love you. I love what you're doing. Yeah, and I did get like when I put my hashtag chalk paint, which is the new population. And so I got answers back from people that were in other countries, like she was saying and I got French answers in Spanish answers how to use the paint that U S. O just like another ideas and other pieces of furniture. So it was like, get to see what they're doing. I find that when you comment and ask if you see a recipe and it's not list. If you see something you want making the recipes, not listen, you ask how they made it. They will tell you they will tell you because they're so excited. You you posted a comment, And so if they're curious about what paint to use a word that you want to use and you ask, people will answer those questions. Once they've seen the post, It might not be. When you write the Post, please tell me accident once you've posted it, if there's someone curious about what you're sharing, and for me, it's usually how did you make that that look so delicious? I haven't thought about what I'm cooking for dinner. I will get the recipe that happily give me the recipe and they're just excited. So the comments you do, you have no idea we're gonna get not a clue. It was good I just friends. I had a couple friends that used and I think you should go to Instagram. So I just saw the picture of their kids and cute. But that was that was it. OK, so you're in a completely different space today. Um Well, what I have had is testimonials on my newsletter. I I've written to eat clients and asked them if it would be OK for testimonial and and with a picture of them Perfect. So now I'm going to ask if it's going okay? Not only if if I can use it for the newsletter, but could I put it on instagram right with their picture. And you want you're gonna ask them. Are you on instagram? And if they are, you gonna tag them, right? Okay, which is great, because it will, You know, they'll like that. It will take more people back to their feet. Toe follow. Is there like a limit about how long you should have a post? I mean, how many words or something opposed to be? I mean, Twitter's very short on instagram. I was like, How in the description? Yes, you can write it. You can have it be as long as you want with white Optimum. It all depends on the content, the value that you're giving its great value. People want it. Okay, if you're going on and on about something, that's just way too much information, they might start on following you. OK, you do not want to be sales e in your description. I don't know. The people, you know cost this by that. Go here. That's not what ISS at all. You know, that's an interesting point you brought up about pumpkin dot sunshine. Remember the Micro blawg? So that was really interesting way to use a longer form sort of expression on incident. She did a beautiful job, but answering questions that are constantly being at How do you create that photo? What kind of lighting? What kind of camera? Who's pumpkin, whose sunshine, You know, they're just, you know, people are curious, but yes, and they took the time to answer. I read every single answer I'm like, I want more great. I think the whole has a comment for my customer testimonials because the majority of my people are virtual and we meet over Skype, and I remember when I first started. I was like, Sue, I don't know what to post And you were telling me to actually take screenshot And so I would take screenshots of me and my customer and I would warn them sometimes. Okay, I'm gonna be taking a screenshot. This is going on Instagram. So you know, I hate to catch them off guard there, like a lot to do my hair. And so I would warn them ahead of time that this is what I was going to be doing. And then I moved it to video. I would take the video and put music with it. I haven't done it in a while, but, um, yeah, that's one way you can do it if your customers are virtual if they're not, If you don't have a storefront. Absolutely. So they said yes to the screenshot. Oh, yeah, definitely. We've actually got some feedback online. Elegant, KB says. Interesting discussion. As an eBay seller, I sometimes receive positive feedback for my customers. Is that something I could screen capture and share as a testimonial? I get excited when my customers are happy, but I'm not sure that my followers would care so in that situation, I would almost again, I'm going dipped it because you could put that testimonial there and maybe put a photo of what she sold with it. So it's just not all text, but people can have some contacts to the to the item that she was purchasing or what she's selling. So having some visual eye candy with text is usually the right idea. You know, these testimonies that that something is an idea. It's not something that I would you know. It's like one every 40 or 50 post. It's not a re occurring theme that I would suggest doing. But it's certainly something to do if you're stuck on what to Dio, and especially if you can tag people back and bring it back to them and give shoutouts to them as to why your posting a testimonial, there's ways to do it that turn it into good content. Great, great. Okay, So the second posting strategy is behind the scenes, and we talked about this. A few of you mentioned this. This is one of my favorite things, often showing behind the scenes of me doing a webinar and what that set up is like I have my computer, my snowball Mike, my IPad, my phone and the most important thing my water. Because you are talking for an hour sometimes and you're not looking at anybody and you have to keep your energy really high, and your voice needs what you need some water to get through it. So people like seeing, like, what does her set up look like? Podcasters do this a lot, which I like. I've seen a lot of podcasters show their home Mike set up and what they're room looks like, where they're broadcasting from. Starbucks does a really good job at showing behind the scenes, especially with celebrating their employees. I like that, and they're notorious for that. Another account, Ben and Jerry's, also is a great INSTAGRAM account to check out that shows a lot of that. Some ideas for you would be the behind the scenes of how you're making your jewelry or your art how you're painting. Um, you're like even unpacking your inventory and all the little pieces your kabash on your you know, putting them in piles and showing people what you used to make. What you designed is really interesting people. You know they buy a finished product, but I think you have so much more appreciation when you see how that was made, or the pieces that it took to make that or the paints that you used to do that. There's a stronger appreciation if you're in the health and wellness space and you are cooking, show how you actually make what you did and the process. I enjoy watching often like smoothies, how they just throw in like six ingredients, and seconds later it's this delicious movie. Giada occasionally does a video showing that if you're in video production, show what equipment you use. I know Nicole does a good job, but sharing her behind the scenes. I've enjoyed knowing, like what lights I should buy for video. You also show like what you use so people know what to buy if they're going to start doing video on their own and just really showing what your workspace looks like. And this could be no better work space. We got Holly's picture here, she said. You know her workspaces in our office. She's showcasing some of her pictures that she painted and she put it, knew that natural light I'm showing you this mostly because this is how she takes her photos, the behind the scenes of how, when she's taking a photo, she has the natural light and it's this easy. She's putting it on white foam board and she's getting the natural light coming in and she's doing her photo shoots. And if you look at her feed, her images are always, you know, really crisp and clean. Right? So So I like, you know, again, let's have some participation here. What you think of you could do behind the scenes specifically for your industry, And this will help give other people ideas as well. Okay, you're gonna laugh. This is a reach. But I I watch reality shows and I, you know, I'm I'm unashamed about that. But there are certain ones that I watch because I'm a psychology major, and I, you know, I'm interested in what? How people react when they're on camera. And so the shark tank loving that I watched love because it's it's in my industry. It's in up my alley. And so when I'm actually tweeting during TV shows and I learned this when I was with a Silicon Valley startup for two years and we would divide up the marketing department and we would take TV shows and we would live tweet during that. So I would be doing that on INSTAGRAM. I would be taking it a shot, you know of this of my TV screen, and then I would instagram it out in the night, cross posted over to Twitter and Facebook to. But you know, that gives people kind of ah, a sense of what appeals to you, what inspires you. So if you are in a service based business, especially business development, marketing anything like that, where you want to reveal a little bit about what, what types of things, you study, what kind of books you're reading. Sometimes I'll take a snapshot of the books that I'm reading right now, like we'll have three books sacked up and I'll take a picture of him and show people. And then it's a good chance for me to shout out those authors absolutely and inspire other people who are maybe in my same industry to go out and get that. And I have one from this morning that I posted on instagram of you getting your makeup done. That was a good Well, I did it from a part of It is amazing, but it is. But I just I did it from the doorway. And then Shane a Schulmann wrote s so nice to see beyond the veil. I love creative life. Enjoy that. Yeah. Yeah, well, what you said earlier about your TV shows that you're watching. And of course, I love shark tank. Um, you know, so letting people know that that's a Nessen of your personality, and that's what you get a lot of inspiration. And they were You study in the fact that you're using that is a form to do something that you love by sharing on Facebook and tweeting it. And being a part of the live chat is cool. And if you concerned that a Yeah, yeah, right. And you say, Can you believe that they want that millions of dollars for that or whatever? Then people laugh. It's entertaining. Yeah, and you probably could be following the hashtag that they're talking about on instagram and see some visual content being curated. One question and then we can move on to the next one. If you're ready, the Bev Bev, Bev says. How about recipes? Get I'm giving a full recipe is giving a full recipe on your post there to drive a good idea to drive to your cooking. Blawg think what they're saying is behind the scenes and then the actual recipe. So we talked about this yesterday with Giada Um, and I think if you show a photo of what you made and how delicious it looks, and I would spend some time making that photo look really good with natural light, you know, John talked earlier, but her photos were grainy and didn't get much engagement. And then when she invested in the right IPhone in the right, lighting things exploded for her. But what she said that really resonated for me is that she's keeping the whole recipe there. She's not having me go to the blawg toe access it. I think that that is really important to give the value right in instagram and build your trust and your community because they will come back for more of the same. Fantastic. Thank you. Yeah. Okay, so we talked about this earlier. Um, and it's one of my favorite things to do and It's one of the easiest things to Dio, especially now that you all know about Camba and Ward. Swag is quotes and aligning, making sure that they align with your brand. So putting up quotes for the sake of doing it cause it's popular and other people are doing is not what I'm saying at all. What I'm saying is to be authentic and really put up a post that aligns with your branding and feels like you're branding. So these are my brand colors on my soupy Zimmerman website, and I use the hashtag instagram gal tip, which you can search on instagram to find all of our tips. And when you have it done in a way that is associate with your branding, it will be memorable, and people will recognize that that's it doesn't necessarily have to be your quote, but it could be others. And if you do, you want to make sure you give them credit right there in the graphics. And if you forgot to put it in the graphics, I strongly suggest you put it in the description or in the comments or deleted and start again because you can do that so We had the presentation here with Ban who really showed us and, you know, a great tool where you can just in minutes upload your own quotes. One of the things that I did for the presentation, all the rainbow stats that you're seeing throughout this was created in Ward Swag. So the presentation was created in Camba and the stats. I consistently used the same rainbow background so that you guys would think. Okay, Whenever I see that, I know that's a stat. Now I know that's a treatable I know I should write it down. I know I should share that because I've been telling you guys that this is a good opportunity to just pause and become a part of the conversation, the community, and share that out because those air good things to share, So showing your personality. And even though this might seem a little vulnerable, sometimes you're like, really? Do people really want to see that? I think they dio I think they dio I do. I was at a craft show. I do direct to consumer sales for my store Soupy. Do I not only have the store, but I set up it venues. I set up a craft, shows I set up it road racers, church events, fundraisers. I, um, bring my products to the consumer. I call that direct to consumer selling. I know a lot of the artisans air. Probably familiar with this. You see, you know, it's my favorite thing to Dio, quite frankly, because the customers air there. I've even partnered with Ah, but appear bar, which is bar sculpt in my town and Wellesley, where I do events within her facility around the holidays where I bring my products and sell them and give her a percentage of sales that are generated. She loves the activity I bring. We do cross promotion to bring people in, and it's a win win. She makes money from having me there. It's an activity in her store. So this is one of those director consumer venues. I was in Cohasset, We were inside and there was a balloon guy there. I'm like, Okay, so I need you to make me a balloon hat. I need some. I need some energy over here. I need to attract some people in my booth and I was just scooping off, and of course, I had to take a picture and posted on Instagram. Okay, so this is playful and fun and a little bit, Really? Am I gonna do this? I'm like, yeah, I'm gonna do this. So you guys are all smiling, so I think you like it. It's little entertaining on but might not be exactly what you're thinking of. But does anything come to mind where someone like, OK, I could be a little wacky and show something that someone so unexpected sees? You're nodding, Say, do you want to share what it is, what you're coming up with? Like I have danced in the carnival parade in San Francisco. So I have my and actually, I think the picture that a little bit in the corner, which is not I mean, I have a head shot that's being redone right now, but I think that got picked up by you or something. But I could put one of my carnival dancing in the parade in San Francisco in that I mean, that was that'd be great. Very different thing. Yeah, fund. Another side of you know, people don't always get to see a lot of people do this all the time. I'm just saying that this is an idea. This is okay, you know? And you want to just kind of bring it all together. And this went up on my soupy due account because I was selling some products at this event because I only have right now my business, you're good with your business. I'd like to see you focus on your business. You don't eso I wouldn't put the carnival picture. You could, because the carnival culture like travel. Yeah. Yeah, it works for you, right. Okay. It works for you. What would you do? Well, through my business, I do sponsor local fundraisers and different things. So we'll have a color run or five K or different things like that. So I often show those kind of things. Ah, lot of my posts I've put up and I've deleted. And so I do need to go back out and put because I'm re strategizing because I've got a lot of different things going on in my feet right now. So, um, but I do want I show those funds sides the family size that things that we support and that we believe in and that my business supports. So yeah, big color run with the talk all over. Yeah, tie dyed. We didn't really talk much about charities, and and I think that's a great a great thing to celebrate and share. And most likely they're online. Probably instagram, at least with the hash tag. And you can leverage that community for sure. Um, we we don't have any live events right now, but when either Tracy's here in the Bay Area or I'm in New York, we do a gathering of just anybody in the area that's in our community to come out. And, um, it's been really fun to meet people who we've been, you know, even Lloris as part of our community. It's really been wonderful to meet her and and we take lots of pictures and we'll post, Um, but it's, Ah, great waiting. Give them some, uh, social media attention, but also to celebrate just the connection we have with our community to great love. It I was because that's what I've been doing with my feet, just competitive, posting random things that I think about myself that for example, I posted a flip flops picture I ran out of my house and wore two different flip flops. I wasn't paying attention. I was like a little my purse. I was on Instagram. I literally was on Instagram and I asked, like doing to anything. So I posted that I was kind of funny, I thought was really funny. And but I was wondering if you could give us like, a ratio. I've heard FACEBOOKG ratios for, like, how much business content to be. Is it like 70 20? So again, I'm gonna just focus on featured personal, I think on your personal page, it can be what you want it to be. And if you're not using that for business, it's OK if you're trying to get people over to your business account, you might have a different mindset for that. But I think keeping your business page really clean, especially at the beginning, until you build your community so they know exactly what kind of content is that you share is A coach is the best strategy, but I think two different flip flops walking out the door. I totally can really, I've had that happen. I think it's kind of funny, but it would be like the the humor would be in the description of you say Okay, I was on Instagram. I was carrying this. I paid no attention to that. And this is what happened. Just like I love instagram so much that this is what happened to me because I love Instagram. Okay? And then give a tip. Yeah, and then gave a za coach, You know, I say, you know? Yeah. So what you got go on the business page? If I did that value in the statement, I think if you could give value from the visual in the description, too, what it is you do so, people, it's still lining up. I think you're okay. Like Holly did today and I pointed out when I came on, she most she pretty much is guarded with on Lee showing illustrations on her featured account. But today, she or last night she put the feature of her on the Google hang out and me on stage with her, and I think that was more a celebratory example of this just happened to me. I'm so excited. I want to share it with all of you And because I've become this well known illustrator I'm now sharing my talents with the world, and so that's OK. So it's OK if you break it up a little, but you don't want You don't want to break it up too much. You want people, you want people to fault that fall, you come back and get that content that yours sharing. Let's see the feet and get it. I would wait till you start building your tribe and they will tell you what they like that you're giving them. Especially in your space. Cool words. Totally Dio words, Words. Way getting on that today. Yeah. Yeah, that I think was cute. Everybody loves work. Swag. Now it's my favorite. There's reason. Yeah. Okay, so we don't look at the balloons. Good. Um and then posting idea number five is showing. We've talked about this a little bit. Speakers, authors, thought leaders, you know, really people who you know that you align yourself with that are that are in the same mindset is you that you really respect or I think that we mentioned this earlier to Lin said, your favorite book. So when I when people hire me as a coach before I start working with them. There are three books that I have them read before I even start working with them. One is start With Why by Simon Cynic one is Crush It by Gary Vaynerchuk Check and the 3rd 1 is Book Yourself Solid by Michael Port. So here's my picture. I just got the book in the mail. I'm like, I want people to know that this is my mindset, that I work with red velvet rope policy clients and I choose who I work with because they're the ones that make me happy. And they're the ones that e don't. It doesn't feel like work because I really like to be with them. So I lined myself with the people who I enjoy being with and working with, and it's fun. And this book is put your mindset in that space. It's a great foundation. In fact, Michael was here teaching at one time so you can find his course on creative life, too. So does anyone have a favorite author or book that they've posted? Did they want to share? Because I just mentioned three that are really worth buying? Just got an interesting idea and maybe I the ladies here can start brainstorming. But what would you post a book review? Like write your book review as sort of a mini blawg and with Graham with a picture of the book cover? Okay, Yeah, I like that. So again, I'm I keep turning to dipped it cause it allows you to have multiple images easily upload. And that's my go to place. If so, I would put that with the book. I think showing the cover of the book is great. I've also done when Gary, these new book came out passing my mind. Yeah, I got it in the mail and I instantly did a video saying, Look what I got. Jab, jab, jab, Right hook and I did a fun little right hook in the video, held it up and did my 15 2nd video, and I got a lot of engagement on that and tweeted it. And I got Gary's attention, which was pretty cool. And in that case it's really important to use those hashtags and to make sure that you've you're tagging in, right? What are the some of the common mistakes you said? You said the right thing. Okay, thing to do is would be toe at mention Gary B. Which I did. I tagged him. I mentioned him in the Post and I hashtagged his book, which is J J J R Age. Um, and it's a really fun hashtag to check out because there are so many posts with that book. Um and yeah, I mean, he in the title of the book, the author of the book and if that person is on instagram tagging them and that's letting people. What's interesting is you get a lot of people say so I got 35 likes on that, but a lot of comments. I read that book. I love that book. Tell me what that book's about. Why do you like it so much? The whole conversation could be around the book Onda book is like, You know, part of your value system, like this is a type of book I like to read. And when people start reading the same and they say I love that book, what else do you got for may like? Tell me some of your other favorite books, you know, it's just another way to connect with him a little bit deeper, a little bit further. Well, you know, I have a book to h. Human to human and, um, bringing back the human side of communication. Um, Brian Kramer is ah, amazing CEO that I follow. And he has a company called Pure Matter in San Jose. It's a marketing company, and, um, his wife, Courtney, is his VP marketing. Yeah, I met Brian. It's such a meeting marking world, and he said to say hi. Yes, and he's awesome. So I definitely recognize this talk about required reading for the people that I'm gonna work with. This is what? Do you yet have a picture of yourself with the book and have you found it? Yeah. Okay. You've done that. You get you get this little when I got it? Yeah, it's great for the author. It's really great. But also, as you said, it speaks to who you are. That and what you value. This is what whatever it is that you're showing resonates with you. And so you know, it's not a one size fits all. So your clients or your customers are gonna come to you because they know that you resonate with the things that they did. Absolutely so books is for everybody. You guys, everyone can do that. Um, strategy number seven is posting events that you attend or workshops that you go to If you're a jewelry designer or creator and you go to a workshop specifically, I'm gonna say trunk shows or gallery shows, exhibits that you might attend, a gallery exhibit that you might attend or even a cooking lesson. I mean, these are all things that you probably do throughout your day that you can create a post for This is May rocking the hashtag sign. I told you, Wherever I go, I take him and this is the hash tag at an event I did in Victoria Ah, social media camp. It's the largest social media conference in Victoria B. C. And it is gorgeous there. As you can see from that backdrop, I just had to sit there and say, This is an instagram. Better on that sign was a part of the event throughout the whole of X. Everyone wanted to hold it and take a picture with it to document that they were there at the event. So I've learned over time that my hashtags had signs have become part of my branding and my visual storytelling. And not only do I sell them in my business, but I create them for all the events that I attend and I speak at because the signs give more energy in the picture and I, you know, just posing on Instagram isn't doing it for me. It's jumping off the rockets, having movement. It's having energy. Andrea Lee just letting people know that you're, you know, having fun and like in what you're doing. Number eight is. You know, we talked about this yesterday a little bit, is really running a contest and weaken Dive Mawr into this because I think each one of you, we could come up with an idea of a contest for your business. And it might help the audience at large as well, Which is for us. It's that double tap Tuesday. So I'm showing you visually what we've created. And this was one of our first double taps that we did. So if you looked at my soupy jewels account now you'll see some that a little bit mortgage offically enticing. But this is where we started, So that's why I wanted to show you we highlighted the earrings. We gave this away at the time we told you to tweet and post to Facebook to increase your chances of winning. And I put the website so I've come a long way since I first did that double tap Tuesday. But this is where I started. And now we really do a call to action where I lay out number one. Do this number to do that. Number three Do this. And people really need to know what to Dio. You've got to tell them if you want them to take action. And as I remember, as I said earlier, is that when they get the gift, the freebie we put in there please take a picture and post it to instagram and hashtag this and do that. And we everyone that we've asked to do that that has won a free piece of jewelry has. And you heard Emma Johnson yesterday talking about whenever she gives away her free jewelry, she puts the card right in there and tells them what to dio because if you don't ask, you're not going to get it on. And I think when people get something for free they're more than happy to do whatever they can to help promote your business. We did an incredible brainstorm earlier on all sorts of ways to do that. Giveaways. You're really great. That call to action has that spawned a lot of ideas for, for all of all of you out how you would do your give aways how to do them. Do we have any questions about giveaways that we anything? That's unclear? Because I think this is such a great strategy? Yeah, yeah, And what we heard yesterday to is that the results they get from doing giveaways has its like, especially from from Natalie. When she gave away the Longchamp bag, she said, you know her? Sure Feed blew up when she started giving away really good things of high value. So it's not like let's give away the thing that's not selling or that I don't really want to do. It's like, let's give value and more people will come. You know, people come back and start falling for the same. Has anyone here done a contest? But that idea not successfully e. I learned a lot, but it was it wasn't realistic. What we're hoping to have have happened. Um, I think it was more the logistics of it, which I'm learning right now. And I'm figuring it out through you guys and how to run a successful one. And just it was It was Do I do a lottery? Do I do the best photo? Do I do the best video? It was the logistics of how to award it, so yeah. So did you end up having a winner that you were able Teoh did? Um, I did. I ended up having three winners and what I did, you know, I contacted them via email and let them know you've been chosen based on these criteria. And so you've wanted a free If you drop me a 5 to 10 minute video and Dropbox um then we edit it for you. For you. Oh, that's nice. And I hope to do more. OK, really. I want to just really say especially to small business owners. They're starting out on Instagram contest can really jump start your account. If you're giving away, especially is an artist. If you're giving away something in the mail that they can actually get, that's tangible and not just for artists but service people as well. I mean, you can give away, like I said, a download, PdF or an e book recipe book. There's all kind of every industry can come up with some kind of free gift that they give. Yes, promoted hashtags mostly. Or is it? I don't know. How does that work when you have the conn when you're doing the contest? Yes, So you would you would come up with a custom hashtag. I use double tap Tuesday and I promoted in the description, and I do the call to action. But honestly, it's people that are entering the contest that you mean you can say that you're running a contest on Twitter over on Instagram Come on over or Facebook. But it's the people that are entering the contest, that air really promoting it for you, and that's part of the contest. And do you suggest, like we partner with somebody else? Like, I don't have a product that maybe there are some products that, like are really awesome in a line of their brand? Do you suggest doing that? Yeah, I think there's great positive things that can happen for you if you do that as we heard from Kate and Holly that they've partnered together and they, both of their accounts, have grown because they found that when they feature one of their post on the other, and they give a shout out that they grow and that they've had contests where they've given away the sequence straps. So I say research and find people that align with what you're doing that you think would make a good partner and do something with them and, you know, it's people call it Shout out. I don't like to say that because I don't like to say if you do this for me, then I'll do that for you. That's not what I'm saying. But a lot of people, just the law of reciprocity. They want to give back if you're gonna give them something. And so if you could do something where you collaborate and you both feel like it's mutually beneficial, I think it's great. But you just have to figure out, you know, for you, for you starting your account, your new feature. Can't think the focus should really be those 1st 15 post and maybe after that, think about What contest could I run? Cool, but have it in your mind. I want you all to have ah, contest idea. Seen. Did you have an idea? Um, I do, since I'm gonna be traveling, and, um, I already have some plans, you know, as a professional to talk to some of the hotels. One of the hotels when I'm gonna be in London is rated number two, um, of all the hotels in London. So, um, and she's invited me to come and take a tour of the hotel. So I'm thinking about maybe, you know, maybe ah, robe or something from the hotel that people could and I don't know. We've got to figure out what would what would be the thing. Or maybe you know something for my trip to Prague or whatever. But how do you decide who's the winner? The winner. OK, good question. So when you get the comments and you're hoping that this quite a few, there's a website called random number dot org's, and you literally say how many people have commented and it generates a number. And what I do, some people count backwards. Some people come from the top, but you want to let them know that you use that to pick the winner and that you didn't randomly picked the winner yourself. So it legitimizes how the winner was chosen, and you might even want to take a screenshot of that that you did it that way. If anyone's questioning the winner when you When you When you when it popped up like number seven popped up from random number, I would just save it because sometimes people question things and you can or you just It's a security thing I recommend, you know, just initially just to see how it's going, especially if you're giving something away. You know, Robe, terrycloth robe is like 50 to $100 from what I I've observed. And if you're giving something away, that kind of value, you just want to make sure that it's done in a way that people trust that you're picking random, rejecting winner. OK, that is exactly great. Thank you. What is the, um is there any sort of rule of thumb as faras not giving away all the time? Like issued be once a month, is it once a week we was, and I knew It depends on brand. So I used to do it weekly, and then we got sick of going to the mailbox. Okay, so we said, OK, maybe we're going to just do this monthly because now we have the followers. So you're trying to get followers basically. So this is on soupy jewels. I think of all my accounts, it's the one that I probably have the least amount of followers right now. It's hyper focused, very nici nautical jewelry. And it was just getting a challenge to to get what we were giving away to the post office and wrapping it. And, you know, the time that was taken to do that was more than actually creating the contest. So we decided we don't have to give this away every week. We can do it once a month. And the same is true for my insta bio Friday, which we do on the INSTAGRAM expert account. We were doing that every Friday, and I was getting so busy that I didn't have the time to create bios every Friday. So I looked at Rachel Morgan and I said, Let's just do this every month, and so at first it's to really attract some activity. T attract your ideal follower. Get those comments going, get the community built out, get the engagement. I mean, that's really what we're talking about have happening for us, and contest is absolutely a great way to do that. And I want to stress more than anything that you want it to have value. It's not your castaway. It's not the piece of jewelry that no one's buying. It's something that someone's going to say. I really want to win those. The ironic thing for me is, every time I do this, we sell 6 to 8 pieces of the item we've shown because someone wants to win it. That didn't and asked us how much it is and we send them. Ah, pay Pal Link or a square linked to invoice to buy it. So it's for me. It's been a lost leader in my soupy jewels account for my instagram expert account. It's become something taking me, taking me away from other things. I need to dio

I tuned in to the live stream from Cork Ireland a few days ago. It was late into the evening GMT. What I noticed was infectious enthusiasm laced with fun and instructional support. Without so much as a glass of water to rehydrate her @suebzimmerman went storming from one success to another. She was so sharp, empathetic & strong in her own skin - just the kind of guide you'd be proud to have.Every day I urge another person to check her out - because, for a business person who wants to become loved on line, she is the ideal coach. I've tuned in to many people on line - many who project an image of being wonderful - SueB delivers. Together with @artisancheesecompany, she "rocks" as you say in North America.Thank you for all the help you've given me and my company @changeagentsbranding. PS I've never met SueB - I simply love her ethos on Instagram. Paul O'Mahony @omaniblog
