Introduction
first and foremost, I really like you all to understand that I have been an instant addict for two years now, and the reason I love it so much is because I've had such insane success using it and as a small business owner, which you all are. And I'm so excited to see how dynamic my audiences and that there's 10 of you here, which is makes it so nice to be talking to all of you with different professions, because I think it's gonna make the whole course that much more dynamic. I really feel like the challenges that we all have is time like time to do it all time to do one more social media platform or even to start something new. And, of course, if you're a mother, never mind a mother of twins. It's even that much more challenging to fit it all in. So I'm just super excited to be teaching this because I have, like the magic sauce of how to make instagram work for any business. It doesn't matter what business you have. I really feel confident that everyone watching will have some value a...
nd understand what an amazing platform it is. And most importantly, I've learned how to make money using it. Because at the end of the day, that's what we're all trying to do, right? And even though it's hard and challenging to figure out what you want to do on social media throughout the next three days, I'm going to show you all the different things that you could do with Instagram to really start making money. What I want to jump in first and foremost for those of you that are listening that are completely new that are not yet on Instagram, I think, Sandy, Anyone in the live audience besides Sandy, not on our year on E. Okay, Okay. What is there anybody else here that hasn't yet downloaded the app in the live audience? Okay, so anyone in the world wide audience I'm talking to you and welcome so happy that you're here If you don't have instagram yet, I'd love for you to open up your phone and download the app and you can absolutely start following along today. I really want you to my my goal for the whole course is to have everyone who's walked watching toe walk away with the confidence to use Instagram to really understand that it can be such a productive and fun tool to grow your small business. And the operative word here is fun, because if it's not fun, you shouldn't be doing it right. Okay, so let's get to it. You guys ready? Okay, So I want to point everyone to this Instagram feed. And first of all, I want, you know, it's called Instigate Alive, and it's a new account. As I got the hashtag assigned, we also set up an INSTAGRAM account. So now I have six instagram accounts and we'll be talking about those throughout the next three days. And for those of you who are new, I just told you to download the app. See, I promised you I'd already give you something so you can understand what we're doing here. And this is the anatomy of instagram. When you open up the app for the first time, this is what it looks like. I'm gonna talk through all the different key points here on the app on the home page. Okay, so let's start at the bottom because those are the five main buttons that you really need to focus on on the far right is the home button, and that's just like your newsfeed on Facebook. It's were you see other people that you're following and you see their feet. The second button over is called the search button, and that's where you can search hashtags or user names. Now I want to let you know that when you search your user name, don't assume because the name of their business is going to be their name on Instagram. Often people go over to Instagram, and because there's over 200 million active users now, they're not able to get their business name. So some people need to be a little bit creative in how they get their business name, and we're gonna go over that in the course later. But you can also search hashtag and do some market research, which I'll dive into a swell. So that's the search button. The 2nd 1 over the 3rd 1 is the button that you pressed to either take a photo in the instagram app or start a video, a stop and go video, which will be talking about video on day three for the whole day. But for Now, when you take a photo, you can do it right within the app, or you can actually uploaded from your photos that you already have in your library's. You don't have to take it right within the APP. I typically store mine on my phone, some always armed with photos throughout the day to instantly upload and share. And the fifth, the fourth button over is the heart button, and this is my favorite button. So if anyone is really taking notes, which I recommend that you all dio I'm a digital girl and I take him on my phone. But if you're writing it down, this is the button that you need to really understand how it works. That is your notification button. It's the one when you get notifications for who's following you. Who on Facebook just joined Instagram? The comments that are left and of course, those are the ones you want to be responding to and just all the activity. So I actively go into instagram or frequently now because of this show. There's a lot of activity for me, but I go in there throughout the day and check my notifications because on Instagram the stream is you see your last 80 notifications. So if you have a very active stream, you might miss some comments and information. So that is definitely one that you want to pay attention to, especially if you're new to instagram. The one on the far right are where you all your pictures air right there. And you can view your pictures two ways. You can view him as a grid multiple photos or you can view them one at a time. So on the far left, it says how to view pictures. See the great it looks like creative Lives logo. You can grit it like that. You could do it like that or you can view one at a time. I like to see them one at a time and, um, work that way. But however your brain works is totally fine. The top right is the setting button. So when you press that it takes you to the back end of Instagram where all the different things are that you can do now there are over 50 buttons on instagram and I'm telling you about the the five that you see when you open it so There's a lot of back and activity that you can that will be talking about and that you will learn later on in the course and the one under that is called the location that looks like a little do drop. And that is a really important button that we're gonna be talking about specifically. It's called Geo Tagging your Post. So I'm gonna be going over that later. That's how you turn your notification on toe. Let people know where you are located so really important for a Bricker border or anyone with a physical location and then lastly, the pictures that you're tagged in So that's really cool to see. So when people at mentioned you so I'm hoping minds kind of blowing up right now when they at mention you, you see an orange number and that number goes up depending on how many times you have mentioned. And so to be at mentioned is kind of like on Twitter. When you're at mentioned, you get a notification on instagram, the same thing happens as well. So that is the anatomy of Instagram. I'm gonna be bringing the slide up again later, but I'd like to know if there's any questions in the live audience. And then obviously, if there's any from the worldwide well, I just wanna make sure that everyone's on the same page with us. I was just because I also have IPad. And there's Pata Graham, the same instagram. I always look a my instagram account for my phone, not for my IPad, so I'm not familiar with that. Okay, Just curious. Is it a different interfaces that what you're saying? I should be the, um I have an android based phone. Um, Samsung Galaxy fourth, Um, and some of the ah, I guess the icons are a little different, but I assume if they're in the same position there for the same purpose, Yes, I was. Yeah, I'm like J. Marie said I'm not a, you know, a frequent android user, but I definitely think if it's in the same position will be the same function. Yes. Okay, So this course is for you, if you really looking to attract and your ideal follower. And I'm not just saying a follower like someone like likes you and starts following. I'm saying someone that really is attracted to what you do specifically you and want to be part of your community and ultimately become a super fan. Because I'm so excited. I feel like I've 10 super fans name like, sitting right in front of me and it really makes a difference because the super fan is someone that really authentically engages in your content and loves what you're sharing. So I'm gonna teach you all how to do that. Also, I mentioned earlier this whole notion like a small business owners the biggest challenges time. And when I when I try to convince someone to get on instagram like, are you kidding? May You're asking me to do one more thing. I barely can get the jewelry made that I have to dio Andi, I still have to make dinner for the kids. So time the time it takes to Instagram once you become an instagram lover is really minutes to create a post and it's gonna be exciting to share all that with you and then also visibility. We all want more visibility, and sometimes we don't have time to get that visibility through creating a block post or spending time No, with a facebook post the visibility that you can get from Instagram. It's instant. If your content is great, the visibility is there. So I'm hoping that all of you will, um, start turbocharging your account and taking these three points to heart, and we'll get right into the next flight here. So I want to say that whenever you see this rainbow slide, it is a great opportunity to take a screenshot. There's several throughout the whole presentation or to share this on Twitter because there's some really good stats here that I'm sharing. And this is one of the most compelling statements on making throat The whole course. This is worldwide. This is in the planet. This is like instagram is the place to be because it is growing so fast. When I first started teaching Instagram, I think there were 100 and million active users and this was maybe 9 10 months ago, when I was actually teaching at conferences and March of 2014 it surpassed over 200 million active users. Isn't that crazy? So you want to be here. So this is my story. It starts here with my adorable teenage twin daughters and I give them the credit for being on INSTAGRAM because if anyone has teenagers, you know that they're there on the next trend. They're either dressing with the next trend there talking the next trend or they're doing it on social media. So my twin daughters were on Instagram and they were constantly looking down at their phone and just their feet, and I was like, What are you doing? And they're like, we're on instagram, mom, and don't start teaching it or doing it cause things are teaching it. And of course, I started doing it because I really was curious because I'm so curious about any new social media platform and how I can leverage it for my business because, like all of you, I have a small business as well. So I started using Instagram for my small business and the results were amazing. And I'm gonna go right into this to tell. So I have two different small businesses. Well, I have my store on the Cape. I want to call that my small Is and my other stores Soupy Zimmerman Enterprise, which has really exploded this year, which is so exciting. I have been an entrepreneur my whole life. It's just wired in my d. N A. I've had my first business when I was 13 and like many of you creative, I was hand painting bar. It's at the time, and when I graduated from college degree in nutrition job fell through. I started doing what I loved, what I was passionate about, what I really wanted to dio, and that was hand painting clothing. So this is the story where I moved to Virginia Beach from Boston with my college roommate and started doing what I loved and slowly turning hand painting clothing turned into painting boxer shorts. And this was in the early eighties, so you can kind of guess my age. And this is when Boxer shorts just started to become a trend and girls were wearing them out aware. And so I was in the throes of hand painting boxer shorts and turning this passion into a business. We started silk screening them. We got the licenses for Disney. We got the licenses with The Simpsons. We sold to every college bookstore across the country and every boutique Jordan Marsh, Filene's, all the department stores. I was 22 years old and we did a $1,000, my first year in business in sales and that success. I mean, forget the dollar amount, the success of doing what you love, really doing what you love and making money, doing what you love is so empowering. And that was kind of the foundation of all my entrepreneurial businesses there after. And so I credit so much of my success to that young 22 year old that has no idea what you're going to do when you graduate from college and just seizing an opportunity that you're passionate about. So all of you here and and on, you know that listening in as well. I'm sure you are so passionate about what you dio and when you can make money doing what you love, it's awesome. It really is. So I am. I just want to give a little bit more putting of who I am with my boxer Shorts became the mom teaching art classes I taught classes are classes. When my daughters were little because I just couldn't be that Mom was that was just changing diapers and feeding kids. I really needed to do something creatively, so I talked our classes in my house And then when they got older, I figured out other businesses that I could do, and one that was really exciting was creating a double sided tape that we used in the scrapbook industry. And we were embellishing photos. And this was eight years ago. I was on Q B C, teaching the world how to embellish photos using beads and cabbage, Schanze and bread. And it was really exciting. And so what's really ironic is that I'm standing here today teaching you all how to essentially embellish and have your photos shine with filters. Now, instead of commissions and beads and third party app that are amazing and share your photos with the world because to me, my photos or my most prized possession of anything I own so it's just really exciting to be here to have all that

I tuned in to the live stream from Cork Ireland a few days ago. It was late into the evening GMT. What I noticed was infectious enthusiasm laced with fun and instructional support. Without so much as a glass of water to rehydrate her @suebzimmerman went storming from one success to another. She was so sharp, empathetic & strong in her own skin - just the kind of guide you'd be proud to have.Every day I urge another person to check her out - because, for a business person who wants to become loved on line, she is the ideal coach. I've tuned in to many people on line - many who project an image of being wonderful - SueB delivers. Together with @artisancheesecompany, she "rocks" as you say in North America.Thank you for all the help you've given me and my company @changeagentsbranding. PS I've never met SueB - I simply love her ethos on Instagram. Paul O'Mahony @omaniblog

Together with @artisancheesecompany on Instagram - she "rocks" - as you say in North America. That 120 minutes with SueB gave me enough to last me for weeks. What I'd have got from the full course, I can barely imagine - but I bet it was phenomenal value. Thank you very much for the help you've given my company ChangeAgents Branding and the people we serve.
