How to Monetize on Instagram®

I think that this is the section that you are all waiting for. This is how to monetize on instagram, right? So there are many ways that you can monetize and you have to decide which is the right way for you because each business has Teoh do what feels best. And so some of the things that you're going to hear today from our guests might not work for your business. But I know that they're going to give you a lot of tools and strategies and ways that you can actually incorporate. Some of the things that are, you know are absolutely going to help you. So the first thing is, as we've been talking about earlier in building that visual story is the conversation. So the conversation isn't me, isn't about you, but about what can you give to add value to what that person has created for content and you want to jump into conversations where you think you can add value because you can even see in the stream Creative life Case in point. People are leaving comments on the post about this show, and y...

ou could be a part of the conversation and say Hey, I'm in the live audience or hey, I'm listening in from the World Wide Web and really start a conversation because it begins with a conversation, right? This is where we're going to talk about five different steps to making a sale. And we came up with these graphics toe really break it down for you so that you can see what some people are doing strategically. I took this from probably about 5 to 10 people. I know they're actually making money on Instagram, and we broke it down into this graphic that can help you figure out how to turn what you're doing into a sale so you can put a post on instagram. But you do not want to be sales that you do not wanna have the price tag on top of the image like you do in Pinterest. You want it to be an image that someone's going to be attracted, Teoh. But you post that image first, and you can write in the description exactly what it is that you're selling in a creative way. And then there's someone that is attracted to that, and the user wants to purchase the image the item and they will make a comment saying I'm interested. You're an artist. Specifically, I'm interested in the jewelry that you're making. How much is it? Where can I buy it? It might be at your Etsy store. Might be on your website and you can comment back with the address that they need to give you to make a PayPal transaction. If not PayPal, it can be square because square now allows you to invoice them. This is a new feature with the square app. And then you can have a successful sale right on Instagram, now one of our Google hang out. Guests used this system every time she posts her item on Instagram. The person that emails her the address first is eligible to get what she's selling because she sells 11 of a kind items. So where you lead people can be your website, your Etsy store. If you're a jewelry or an artisan and you have a store front there, I sometimes take people right over to my YouTube channel because sometimes I'm trying to grow my subscribers there because in terms of s CEO, I get a lot of things happening for my business from my presence on YouTube because YouTube's owned by Google, so searching there sometimes really helps my ranking. So I bring people over there. I have a playlist of videos for Instagram on how to use it for your business. I think there's seven different videos we can go over on YouTube, so it's giving value when I try to get people over there and telling people why they should go over there. And then some of you might have an often page and I mean, ultimately you're trying to grab email signatures so that you can communicate to them via email and keep the conversation going off of Instagram, just like Giada told us earlier. I mean, her goal is to grow her list and stay in touch with her community and where she can sell her course. She's not doing any selling right on Instagram, and that's what's working for her. But you might have a product that you're trying to sell, and you can use Instagram to to do that and you only have one hyperlink on instagram, so you really want to make it count and you want to make it easy for people to go there. So in the bio, we're gonna be talking about the bio and how to write the perfect bio a little bit later. But in the bio, you can tell people to click the link below to do X. You can have a call to action right in your bio. And that might work for your business, you know, depending on whether or not you're selling something. So our next guest, I'm really excited for these two because they are our youngest guests coming on the one on the right is Natalie, who is a recent graduate of G. W in Washington, D. C. And she has an amazing story. She was on, um, eBay with her business, and she sells reclaimed designer clothing. And she was not attracting her ideal client on eBay. It just selling reclaimed Tory Burch Michael Cores, all designer label clothing and accessories. And she just wasn't attracting her ideal client. And she attended a Tory Johnson event in Washington, D. C, where I was speaking and where her best friend Morgan, who happens to be my assistant waas and we convinced her to get on instagram. We're like Natalie, Forget eBay come over Instagram make your store there make. You can sell your one of the kinds there. Well, Natalie has experience amazing success in six months where she does not have to now go find a summer job because she is selling her one off on Instagram. And she has such creative strategies of how she's going into finding followers with YouTube and at mentioning other accounts with a lot of followers and creating her own custom hashtag And I'm really excited for you guys to hear from her. And then Emma Johnson on the right is Tory Johnson's daughter, and she is 17. Okay, Emma John came up with this bracelet line jewelry called M John Jewelry, and she has grown her business so much since I first talked with her and she was on, and she was in New York City and really leverages her environment and the connections in the city and people from all over the world. Specifically, celebrities like she knows how to go after celebrities because she does these custom charms, which I'm actually gonna be selling in my store this summer at Scooby Doo. So I'm really excited that the two of them are on together and can share with you how they're actually making money with their businesses. So they're all ready to go, and I'm ready to see him. So So welcome. Hey, Natalie. Uh, how are you? Good. Dario. Good. Let me get my notes for you. Is Emma onto? Great. Hey, Emma. How are you? My good. Okay, So the first question I want to ask both of you and Emma, Why don't you answer this first, is that you are both young entrepreneurs who have thriving businesses on Instagram. And I'd like you to talk about how you started here. And what brought you to Instagram? Yeah, totally. So I was making bracelets for fun. And one day I posted a photo on instagram on my personal A countess on a whim just to share what I was doing. And instantly all of my friends here on the Upper West Side in New York City. It started texting, asking where I could get them where they could get them. Could they have their own? And before I knew it, people I didn't even know were asked me. Where can I buy a nem, John? We're kind by these bracelets of yours. So after that, I officially launched M John and I give full credit to Instagram for getting me into retail stores. Getting a West Coast showroom Rep. Teoh right my line and connecting with people I admire, like celebrities, all on instagram and all that happened within the first few months of launching on instagram. The business is called M John Jewelry. Well, because my name's Emma Johnson and my friends affectionately at school, call me m John on DA on instagram. I'm at m e m John Day, which J O H N jewelry. So that's where it all started. That's great. How about you, Natalie? Um well, you're introducing all of it, but, um, I have, like, an eBay store front for a while for a few years, and I had, like, hundreds of transactions. I had a lot of followers, you know, people who were buying from me and reviewing. And I just really wasn't attracting my job client, because, quite honestly, I mean, how many girls between the ages of 13 and 35 are you really going on eBay and looking for designer clothes? Because it's kind of taboo. And so I thought, well, You know I'm not talk to my client and I listened to you and you're like, Well, you know, Instagram has a ton of benefits and so I'm like, All right, I'll get into it. So I decided that I was gonna make my personal accountant you a more business account, hopefully to promote my items and see if I can get, like, more attention for some of things I have because I knew I had things that girls love, like like you said, Like Tory Burch, like Michael course. And so after, like researching and finding more popular Hashtags, I slowly, really, really, really slowly started to attract those clients. But I was looking for And then, you know, 10 21 100 followers. Now it turned into 3300. And so you know it. It happens really slowly. A lot of research. And then I also discovered my ideal community in the Hashtags shop. My closet. I found all of these shops that kind of do what Ideo and I found all the girls who want the things from the shops and are willing to purchase. So that's how I started. Awesome. That's really great. I love hearing this, like, just makes my day to hear from you guys. I'm so excited that you're on. Okay, So, um Emma, let's talk about the three tips because you have such great tips. I learned from talking to you when we spoke earlier that you can give small business owners the listeners here who are just starting out on Instagram and you have some really great strategy. So let's share three of those strategies. Yeah, definitely. So my 1st 1 is figure out your balance between being too active versus not active at all, posting once a week. This isn't going to cut it, but posting times a day is just overkill. Eye on em Don jewelry always post one today, sometimes twice if I truly have amazing photos. But it's the balance between being act, being too active and then not active at all. My second tip is have good friends where your products and put him on instagram, then tag you with every order we ship. I enclose a business card that ask customers to follow us on instagram and ask them to snap a photo of them wearing their M John and just tag us on instagram. Don't assume people will do it. But if you ask them because that's how you'll generate your business and you'll get user friendly accounts to follow you. Which is really cool on my 3rd 1 is use a specific hashtags your business. I use hashtag I'm John, but I also look up popular hashtags related to the items I'm posting like arm candy or fat fashion it. Let's just say it has a theme. So one of my things is nautical. And so maybe you popular brand that sells a lot of nautical things. For example, I Post photos of John's of big Breaks had those companies as well, using their hashtags and the warm wind up liking it, which gets me even more likes and followers than me doing it myself. Great. Awesome tips. Really great. Thanks, Emma. Natalie, how about you? Um well, this requires a bit of research, but be connected with your own demographic. That's what I learned kind of the hard way, because yes. You want clients? Yes. You want to be connected to those girls that you want, but beginning to the businesses that are like your own because you can see what you might be doing wrong or what you're doing right? Based on what they're doing to. You can see what's working for them. And maybe you might adopt that. That's how I got this, a few of the things, but I do myself. And don't be afraid to go and look for those clients. Don't sit back and wait for them to come to you. I specifically go out and search the hashtags that I used and I interact with those girls saying, Hey, nice Michael course back. Why don't you check out the ones that I have on then, you know, And don't be afraid to learn from other people's successes and learn what you knew and what you're missing. Like I said. But lastly, the most important thing that's really had my account rolling giveaways, giveaways our goals, and I can't stress that enough. But they're only gold if you promote the right. So you got to make sure that you're doing the right stuff, which I'll touch on probably a little later. Okay, great. I love what you said about learning from others because I to learn from others. Honestly, Every day I talked about the creative our I spend on instagram and I, you know, by going into accounts that you like and admire and learn from, you can see how to improve everything that you do. So that was a really great point. Emma, let's talk about your demographics of your audience because you know it so well. And I like feeders specifically tell this story about that custom charm you did and how it got you more business with the book. Definitely. So the three things all share our one. I'm targeting stores that cater to mostly Tweens, teens and twentysomethings. So I find stores and I follow them on instagram. I comment on their posts. I rejected him saying that I love their instagram feed and based on what, they're sharing a great addition to their store. So this landed me tons of retail accounts. Then when they would post something about Carrie, I'm John. Their competitors and customer see it and then reach out to me, which is a great way of really building my business on then two is I do a lot of in store events, which I usually call charm parties. Um, where I got into stores and I promote my branch customers there where we make our own charm bracelets together. And then I shouldn't with followers on Instagram to see what we're doing. And we each have exposure on one another's Instagram. So it's not just me or repairing the store, the store overpowering me, but we both win by attracting new customers. To come to the store into I Am John and then third with my custom charms is tons of celebrities love custom things that are on Lee Special to them. So I look for super active celebrities on instagram, and then I make cuts and charms for them and send them to them. Recently, Captain Schwarzenegger posted a photo on Instagram with her new M John bracelets. She recently wrote a popular book, and so I took that book over, and I made it into a charm of her book, which got me so many followers once she posted that photo. So I also connected with tons of blog's I Love um, one is called Coast to Coast Central, and they ran a feature of M John on their site and we crossed promoted, which was amazing. Aan den. Another category just popular brands. My demographic, I reach out to ones of 10,000 or more instagram followers, and I offer to do giveaways of them, which is huge cross promotion. And I did one recently with pretty please nail polish and kings of coal apparel. And they're really supportive in the in, Just helping a hip young business like mine get a line with them, which is really sweet. And it's all through instagram, which is awesome. Emma, you go in places. Girlfriend. You gotta going on. I love it. Natalie, how about you? You want to quickly give us 33 of your tips or you're gonna talk about demographics? Yeah. So my demographics, like I said before about the ages of 15 and 35 women like fashion, and there's not too many that don't. But like I said before, I attract them through my giveaways. I think that's the biggest thing that I have is my giveaways. And I tracked them. My thinking Well, you know, I'm 22. What do I like that they would like? And, you know, I like a long shot bag. So I gave it away recently, cause I thought that's exactly what I would love to win. And because you want those girls to say, Hey, I want that and they'll repost what you posted that picture that give away. And then you are now exposed toe like, Ah, 500 new followers. You're not exposed to new girls that you wouldn't have been exposed to before. And then when that girl wins and you ask her, make sure you ask her to repost whatever she wants. A Hey, you know, smile and take a picture of that awesome new purse you have. And when she reposed, you've got an awesome reputation. You just built with all of her friends and all the people following her. And so that really just keeps rolling and building up. And I think I think you said in my last tip that I learned the hardest way possible. Do not use over 30 hashtags because once you use over 30 they stopped working so you can use 29 used use over 30. That's good. I love how both you and Emma really given doing the giveaways. I think that's that's hitting home with a lot of the artists and people here. Emma, how about you. One last tip. You want to give everybody? I just have to say that social media is huge. Huge, huge, huge. And so if you promote your product the right way through social media sites, which are all out there, you can totally get your word across and totally get followers and customers and anything you want if you just promote your product through the right side. Right? Well, clearly, the right site for you guys has been Instagram definitely is definitely great. Thanks so much. That was awesome on hopefully that will spur a discussion, actually, with our in studio students here, and you can maybe help to support in that. Yeah, I would love to hear from you guys to hear, you know, brainstorm ways that you can start making money with your services and products that you have. So I was actually really excited that last part when she's talking about the giveaways. Um, because I've had this idea for a while. Like e wanted to like a riel art bomb where I can give away some of my smaller pieces to, like my newsletter subscribers or instagram followers. But I thought it was kind of a crazy, like, weird idea. So I'm really excited that what did you call it? Art. What? An art bomb. So if, like, is that your product are? Well, I don't know. It's just this idea I've had, like, I like it do some kind of giveaway contest like that. Yeah. So I'm excited. I'm gonna do it s talk more. About what? What exactly are you making? What is your Okay. So I'm on artist, and usually I dio and a lot of really big, colorful abstract acrylic paintings, But I do a lot of smaller, like studies. And so I have all of these paintings that I would like to give away. So kind of perfect. Yes. So just to take that one step further, if you established one day a week where you do that I One of my five accounts is called Sue Be jewels. It's my jewelry that I sell from Scooby Doo. It's all nautical based, and we do a double tap Tuesday and give away a free piece of jewelry every Tuesday using that hashtag and we have our call to actions. And just like Emma said, don't assume that anyone is going to be nice and take a picture and post it. Tell them what you want them to do when you give something for free. So every time we send something in the mail I mean, if you win something for free, it's this law of reciprocity you want to give back, right? So they then in turn, take a picture and posted on Instagram and tag us and mention us, and we get all kinds of new followers. And for us, every time we've given away something free, we've sold at least 5 to 10 pieces of that item that we've posted. So it's like a loss leader for us. But to your point, I think coming up with a strategy that works for you that you can consistently do every week So people know to come back to your feed that day so that they can win. Does that make sense? Yeah, yeah, yeah, Past the micron. I'd love to help you all. Well, I loved There are a couple of things that the girls were saying, and one really hit home with me about how it is that you build a business and this is all business building right after you. And they said they both were saying how they did research. They did their homework. It took time. They did the hashtag searches, and I think that you're providing that as part of the insta awesome package with people that have RSVP'd is amazing because that helps give us all a start to write. You know what kind of hashtags to look for that we could tap into? My 17 year old niece started a company. She's an athlete, She's a BMX freestyle athlete and she started a company and she's going crazy on Instagram. She's got over 5000 followers. These young entrepreneurs will be taking over the world she's dialed in. It's bizarre. I love it. Yes, so So for me, what I'm hearing and what I thought really resonated from the two of them is there is, you know, to really know your market and to know what you want. And Natalie? She has done her research because I know her well, and I know where she started and she's over 3000 followers. But more importantly, she's making money every day, doing what she loves, and she's figured it out for her she's going to her competitors and other people, getting inspiration, ideas and partnering with them and not looking at them as a threat. There's there's away toe work with other businesses. There's enough business for everybody. And when you collaborate so much more greatness happens. So those rock Yeah, I agree. Absolutely. Yeah. Robin, have Ah, um was curious with what? Um, Johnson said that you know you not to over post like know when it's not enough for when it's too much. And so I get that you don't want toe inundate people. But if you're at an event and you're taking lots of pictures like, What's the cut off? Okay, so clearly this is an event, right? And we're having fun taking pictures and printing them from Prince to Graham. And I say, That's okay when it's an event where you're bringing together a community and adding value. Versus I met my twins graduation, and I'm apologizing because it's my third post pit posting my twins. But I'm just saying, you know, I'm celebrating Instagram. This is not typically what you dio is having three posts of the same type of content, but I wanted to showcase different things. So So I I love that Emma. She learned that two. She learned what time of day and how many times to pose. And that comes with experience and figuring out what your target market wants for you. You know, when they look, come to your feet and the other thing is Ah, now they talked about number of Hashtags. So you can dio Teoh 30? Yes, proposed that is doesn't does it turn off people? When you do that many, they just go and it depends on how you're using them. They are both using them so strategically they have their own custom hashtags that they've come up with. And they also know which ones are attracting their ideal followers. Because people search Hashtags on instagram to see the visual content all day long. Believe it or not, I had a much heavier hashtag strategy when I started than I do now because I'm getting other people kind of being my buzz agents and following because of what I'm teaching so I don't need to do is much I want to say hashtag promotion or, like come find me. People are finding me, but it takes a while to get to a certain amount of followers where that just starts to happen. But you do see that happening. Your follow As you get more followers, you attract more followers of the same. Um so so you can put up to 30. I think 9 to 10 proposed is sufficient. I don't think you have to think of posting now. Now we need my hashtags. Just figure out what works for you because I mentioned earlier that you want to put them in the secondary comments and not the initial comments. Because, you know, the feed moves so quickly, and when they're in the secondary, you can delete it and refresh it. So to bring that post back to life that we talked about. And if you're trying to reach people more overseas, let's say in a different country. Or, you know, obviously jewelry for for hard business jewelry is the big one. Yeah, and jewelry is spelled differently in different places. So, um, are there Is there a way to find out which hashtags are most popularly different Question. You need to do a little bit of research with that, and one of the things I love so much in scream. It basically is the app that never sleeps like because people all of 65% of people on it or outside of the United States. So when I wake up in the morning, the notification lights are on because somewhere else in the world is is looking at content. So the fact that you have an international market is actually great. And, um, I would suggest getting those variations of the spelling of jewelry in depending on what you're posting, incorporating them into your post right kind and even went through him again. Your adventure travel, gal. So my question has to do with, um, the ideal number of posts. So So I'm on a trip and I'm really into posting about my trip, right, So I'm on the trip, so it's a super intense time for posting. But like you said, you don't wanna kill someone with, you know, 30 posts of where you are and whatever. So is there a way to save a draft so that you know, I can I can do it later? So, yeah, it could make the most out of that trip in that content that I have, but not really agreed. Anyone s so one of the one of the strategies that I use. I use my notes on my IPhone. So when you say draft, well, first of all, I would take many pitches as you can so that you're armed with them on your phone to post on instagram, and you can have and instagram posting strategy that I talked a little bit more about later. But in notes, I actually write my description in notes, and the reason I do that is because you couldn't break up the text with lines so that you can read it much smoother as opposed to a one long paragraph. So I would queue up some posts that align with the photos and space out the timing maybe every 46 hours, you know, especially if you're on a trip and you're looking at some beautiful you know, things that you want to share, right, because there's, ah, you know, the whole contrast of people wanting things in real time, right with the you know, not too much, right? Okay, too much will turn people off if it's too much of the same. And I know that from two years of experience. Everything I'm teaching you has literally taken me two years to figure out and the best strategies to teach. So I was that person posting five or six times a day. And that's why my ratio on my soupy Zimmerman account is the least like I have, like two. Not even two followers proposed toe how many followers I have versus hello Instead, Gal, I've I think I have over 500 followers now and I've had 17 posts. So you know, it's it's so the rate. So you want to look at that ratio, How many people are my attracting that start following me based on my post and honestly for a small business? 3 to new followers per posed? Consider that good. You may change that number as you become more successful, and everyone should have their own goals of what that number is. It might just be one new follower opposed, but celebrate that And don't compare that to anybody else. But just say, yeah, I got a new follower. Let me go in and see who they are and connect with them. Awesome. Yeah, Great. Really quick. A clarification on the hashtag secondary strategy. New Bijan says I'm still confused about how to put the hash tags in the second Dairy. Are you gonna walk through an example of your I can later on? Yeah, absolutely that. But let me just clarify for her right now. So when you first post on Instagram, you can write a description with the image or the video. When I say secondary comments, you can go in and leave a comment under that. And so that is the secondary comments, and you can leave those hashtags any time. So if someone is commenting on your post, you can go in based on those comments and, you know, maybe bump up the visual content by adding more relevant hashtags toe. What the conversation is under the post. A swell I cons and things like that. Is that what you mean by the visuals? But the visuals literally meaning what you're posting on instagram, the visual being, the photo or the video, but the content, what you're sharing below it can be shared in hashtag can be shared it any time you can go in and leave your hashtags as a comment any time. Awesome. All right, more brainstorming. Yeah, great. Something that Natalie said that really stood out to me was her, uh, almost tracking down people who would be good prospects for her and commenting. And we were talking about this at lunch. This is really what differentiate. I mean, forget about, uh, you know, targeting people in getting them one by one. As your customer. I think other people notice to when you truly engage with the people who who are your perfect prospect, let's say, um and this is the reason why I'm sitting here right now is because I had seen Sue, but much more so, her engagement with the community. And we're Marce Smith the same way these people who do true engagement in that way stand up above the crowd. And I'm curious. Is that strategic, or is that just being authentic and using that as a strategy? So thanks for saying that, first of all, and that's me. So one of things I hear frequently from people that connect to me either on Instagram or Facebook is how accessible I am. And I am I. If you message me on Facebook with a question, I will answer it if you need to talk to me. I will make the time to talk. Teoh. When im walking my dog or in the car, I really want to help other people succeed. I mean, that's why I do what I dio until the engagement. So the engagement is my way of connecting to you and hopefully building trust and pulling you into my community and whether or not you by my course or buy something I'm doing, you will remember that as you clearly have stated and you might tell five of your friends to start following me on Instagram and one of them might become a customer. I just believe that the more you give and the more authentic you are giving, the more you get. And getting for me is not always money. It's really mean top top tier is the community for May because the community, without it, you don't have a business. Yeah, if I've seen you say I am me with your question one time I've seen you say it 1000 times. Thank you. That's a great thing. Yeah. Yeah, all right. Anyone else here? Does anyone need to brainstorm with wanting Thio? Thio have instagram and Twitter If I wanted Teoh, you know, share my instagram picture on Facebook and Twitter. How can I also not just hash tag but identify it like to communicate via Twitter? So it's so the instagram what I take on Instagram then goes to Twitter then goes to Facebook and also is on Instagram you know, because you could do that, you can I am talking about that in detail later Let me just tell you you don't necessarily want every You don't want every instagram post be going to Facebook and going toe. In my opinion, you want to be selective where your where you're taking the content and sometimes you want to keep it in Instagram When you share from instagram to Twitter it shows up in the Twitter feed as a link versus if you share an image to Twitter, it shows up as a big image. So if your goal was to get your image seen like some of these great images that are here, if you're better off tweeting that image as opposed to posting on Instagram and sharing it over sharing it over to Instagram with the link will bring people back to instagram and start following you from Twitter. So I do talk about the value of how Instagram could be shared out to multiple platforms. But that's just a, you know, a quick kind of take on my strategy and how it works. Well, for May. Okay, you as somebody who has a service based business, I was wondering what kind of giveaways we can dio. I know I have an opt in, which is called the Cure, but I was wondering, should we make something like, maybe make like, a tote bag or maybe make like a charger like something to give away because we don't have a product? Well, I I also have a product based service business, and I do give away pdf's and downloads and content. That's valuable. You know, I don't think you need a product to give something away. I think you can create something as a coach that you know. The top 10 things that you tell Every client can be a pdf that they download from clicking the link in your bio. But, you know, it could just be something that you send them the email or that they get when they click your buyer to go somewhere. Yes, I don't feel like product equals money or, you know you can creatively use your services to give value as well. That's a really great companion to what I was just gonna ask, which is about the anatomy of a giveaway. So when you do have a product, because that's easier in a way, the service based give away to get a watch easier not to mail it, cause it's all electronic. You don't have to deal with anything. So when it's something tangible, what's the anatomy of that? So you mean when you're creating it as a Pdf know when you're giving away a T shirt or a piece of, you know, a charm or yeah, I prefer Honestly, I'd rather be giving away my Pdf than having to go the post left to give away my jewelry. It's just easier thing to give away, but that's it depends on what's gonna work for you. So what it comes, how the girls do it with their give away, they literally they run into the contest to grow their feet and their account and leverage the other followers to tag of the falls to grow their account, and I can guarantee that it's come back in spades for both of them in the turn in terms of money. But to their points, they both made. Everyone loves getting something for free. Doesn't matter what it is. It could be a 10 minute pre coaching session. Um, you know something that's valuable that people want? There's actually a question from our online community. Black French photography wants to know what's a good thing for a photographer to give away. Sessions with a free print are so much work on often my clients are one offs. So as a photographer, I think the photography that they're creating, you know, just like we're doing Prince to Graham, you know, like to send them a digital image that's fabulous, that they can print where the photography doesn't have to go to the expense to go to the mill. Mail it. But if the photographer great photographer could just be beautiful prints of nature that represent their work that they can give in a digital format, right, as in, like they don't have to actually go through the effort war, they can use Prince two grams and mail it that way Because, honestly, my I'm just gonna hold these up again. I'm just so excited. So Prince diagram literally takes your instagram images and turns it into a card. I used him his cards to do Thank you cards. I business cards and canvases. I mean, you can use them as the place to give away what you know your art form is for sure. They're awesome toe work with. I'm glad that we touched on the giveaways because that was something that a lot of people in the chat room did ask about while we were in the hang out. Now, I'm curious to know, Have any of our students here done giveaways before? Have any of you had any experiences doing this? Not yet. Nicole, Let's let's hear from you. Because Nicole is gonna give away. Yeah, I'm curious what it is, Nicole, cause your video editor, what did you give away? I dio, um I give away free 3 to 5 minute video editing session. Nice. And how has that worked for you? I've only done it wants, but it worked well and I have a lot of learnings from it, and a lot of things that I would probably do differently. And so another one of my goals is to learn how to run the contest properly off of a platform like Instagram. Great. Well, there's third party app that you can pay for to do contests, which I have not yet done, but a lot of big brands do use them. But, um, Natalie and Emma's point there just creating their own organic contest for what works for them. And it's really important to make sure that you're telling them exactly what you want in return when you do something for free, so you might want them to. You know, when you create that video, you might want them to share the link on Twitter and share it on Facebook and give a shout out to you and take a screenshot and put it on Instagram. And you can really tell them what I mean again when you give something away for free. And if you ask someone to do something, they're gonna want to. I was just gonna ask, um, sort of a follow up question to that in terms of logistics on the giveaways or contest. Is that maybe this isn't the place to discuss that. But I'm just wondering, sort of, you know, how do you actually execute that? So you know how to reach out and post for it. But then how do you back end it? Oh, how do you actually give it away? How do you like? How do you actually implement that? Yes, So I know how to communicate out. Yes. Okay, So I recommend that you all follow Natalie and Emma doesn't see exactly how they're doing it. And then if you go to my soupy jewels account, you can see my double tap Tuesdays. You can even search that hashtag and will come up and just look. But not only the three of us, but just start looking at the way people are doing contest and in the travel spaceship ornament. You might want to think about what works for travel agents, cause that's a little bit trickier, because you're not going to give a discount on the travel. But you might. You might have travel tips like your 10 talk travel tips that everyone needs to know when they go toe Sydney, Australia, or some version of that. Um yeah, cause people that travel want to know how to pack or what to bring. Okay? Yeah. And we offer courses. Um, and one of things that we did was we had a scholarship, and we have the contest ran on. Instagram go. Great, great. Yeah, it's exciting. So when you say scholarship, you know, for your course you gave away, of course, to someone, that one, which is great. You've already created the course. And it's a good what did you do to see a growing your followers grow? We did. We did. And what other benefits did you get from that? Um, just the conversation around it and getting people to realize, you know, kind of what we do. But also, it's a way for us to give back because it was the whole course, and it's a six weeks course. So it was It was great interaction. Do you want to talk about a little bit? What? You did how you did that contest cause I saw it on instagram. And did you have a professional photo shoot to do it And your call to action with pictures that we've had? Yeah, we needed photo session. Yeah, it was good talk about that. I think it would be interesting for him to hear Well, my business partner lives in New York, and I live in Sausalito. So we do make plans. Teoh come together and do videos. And she came out here in March and we did a photo shoot to because we knew we were We of course is. And we knew we wanted to promote together. So we used some of the photographs from that to promote. We offer some pretty intense courses as well assume some other courses and one of our courses that we were launching. We always like to do a scholarship. So this time we wanted to do an instagram contest, and we also we blogged about it. We sent email, took me to me about it, but we also wanted to get the word out there. And Instagram is definitely one of the places that we hadn't utilized his money, and we still I mean, that's one. The reasons I'm here way want to use utilized a lot more and benefit from it. Good. Well, I love that you did a contest that it was great and we got our first a winner. Who was a guy. So Yeah, a metal Smiths. It was well done. Wasn't this an awesome brainstorm and really great? Yeah. Great. Yeah. If you have anything more to say about giveaways in general, we are getting questions about, you know, the anatomy of the give away. And what could I give away? The question is, should you not giveaways to frequently? Sometimes your audience maybe only gonna respond if I know I e making it special and a certain time of the day of the week that you started? I started Tuesdays when we started and 10 p.m. is when we announce it, and we use random number dot org's to spin the wheel to see which comment wins, or we say the person that does these three things is gonna win. So we we challenge people Teoh to repose, to tag three friends to share it on Facebook. Sometimes, or sometimes we make it too simple, but you can structure that give away any way you want to. And I say no more than three call to actions. Because if you have 10 things you're telling them to do, it's just way too much. And I've seen that ruined the kind of contest, but I would not frequently be giving away. Then it's going to seem like you're too desperate. And I think he wants it to be special and want people come back to your feet that time, every during the week that you're doing a giveaway. A long shot bag, I think. One of the collecting dust. Yeah, I think we had one more question. So I just have the question. What if we don't even have enough following to do a good boy? Like what? I would have a goal. I would say when I reach 50 followers, I'm gonna do X, but don't think like enough is OK. Another could be 15. You just want to try it and do it and learn from it because you heard Natalie. She learned from what she's doing, you're gonna learn about whenever you do something. The first time you learned, I learned a lot when I came on stage today first segment and you just improve and get better. And just because I say do it not even and just go through the process because every time you do that, you're gonna get better at it.

I tuned in to the live stream from Cork Ireland a few days ago. It was late into the evening GMT. What I noticed was infectious enthusiasm laced with fun and instructional support. Without so much as a glass of water to rehydrate her @suebzimmerman went storming from one success to another. She was so sharp, empathetic & strong in her own skin - just the kind of guide you'd be proud to have.Every day I urge another person to check her out - because, for a business person who wants to become loved on line, she is the ideal coach. I've tuned in to many people on line - many who project an image of being wonderful - SueB delivers. Together with @artisancheesecompany, she "rocks" as you say in North America.Thank you for all the help you've given me and my company @changeagentsbranding. PS I've never met SueB - I simply love her ethos on Instagram. Paul O'Mahony @omaniblog

Together with @artisancheesecompany on Instagram - she "rocks" - as you say in North America. That 120 minutes with SueB gave me enough to last me for weeks. What I'd have got from the full course, I can barely imagine - but I bet it was phenomenal value. Thank you very much for the help you've given my company ChangeAgents Branding and the people we serve.
