Action - Choose A Product Category To Start With
Congratulations on finishing mini goal one by now, you should have a pretty good understanding about what we're trying to look for in a product in this mini goal mini goal to we're going to use that basic product criteria that eric Rodney was talking to you about to find three potential products in this first video. Our task is to choose one category that we want to start our product search in to do this. You're gonna want to open the product category resource sheet and you can either find this in the resource packet or you can download it as an attachment to this video in this sheet, you'll find three different pages. The first page has the best categories that we recommend. You Start out with. Remember in an earlier video we talked about why these are such great categories for this reason we recommend that you choose one of these categories to begin your search in on the next page we have restricted categories. And if you remember from the earlier video we talked about why we recomme...
nd you avoid these categories for your first products. And the reason is these categories require additional approval from amazon and that can add an extra complicated step that we especially don't want to handle when this is your first time importing a product and selling on amazon FB. A. For that reason we recommend you avoid choosing these categories now but in the future if you have success with your first product and you want to expand to one of these categories then it's definitely something that you can pursue and consider. Then finally we have the worst categories and we highly recommend that you avoid these categories. And we talked about in detail in an earlier video why each of these categories is not a good category to compete in. Now that we've taken a look at all three pages and we understand each of them. It's time to choose the category that we want to start out with. In my case after looking through these categories, the category I'm most interested in is pet for the sake of this course. I'm going to start my search in the pet category but by no means does that mean that you have to choose the pet category as well? Choose the category here that you find the most interesting. And in the next video we'll begin our search in that category. In this video we chose a product category that we're going to begin our search in. In the next video we're going to install a plug in to our chrome browser called Unicorn smasher. And this free plug in is gonna save us a ton of time when we start looking for potential products, pause this video now and don't move on until you've chosen a product category to start with
