Action - Evaluate Your Samples Using Our General Criteria
in this video, we're going to evaluate your product samples using our general criteria. I have my product sample in my hand right now. But I also wanted to take some photos so you can see what the sample looks like as we go through these questions. Now, I'm just gonna walk through these questions for one of my product samples and you're gonna want to do the same process for all the 2-3 product samples that you ordered. So in your resource packet you're going to want to open up number two general sample questions and now we're just gonna walk through and answer some questions about this product. The product name is the double dog leash for the sample number. I'm going to open up this pro format invoice and just copy the order number here. Now you don't have to include this piece of information if you don't want, but it just helps me to keep things organized. Now I'm going to put the name of the supplier company and that was you woo that lead pet products. After weighing and measuring th...
e product, it turns out it weighs £0.07 ounces And I measured the product when it was all folded together and it turns out it's about 8" by four by two inches. And let's start answering these questions. Would you feel satisfied if you bought this product? And after playing with this product? I would say yes, absolutely. I was very pleased with the overall quality of this product and if I were to buy it for myself, I would be happy with it. Next up is does this product satisfy negative competitor reviews. And one of the biggest problems I saw in the negative competitor reviews was they were worried that the hinge was gonna break or the hinge actually did break, which meant their dogs ran off their leash and they're worried their dog would get run over by a car. So that was a pretty intense negative review. And I saw it a couple times in competitor listings and I really tried to yank apart these hooks as much as I possibly could and there seems like there's no chance that they're going to break apart. I mean I really went at it, that's as much force as I possibly could and I don't think these hinges are going to break. I would feel very safe if my dog were to be on this leash or both of my dogs were to be on this leash. So I would say yes, this product satisfies negative reviews And lifecycle testing test the product 100 times. Is it still working? And this is obviously very hard to do, you're not going to get 100 uses out of your product, But you're trying to simulate 100 uses. So for example, if your product had a button that the user was going to press every time they use it, you'd want to quickly press that button 100 times and make sure it holds up with lots of use. Now that was pretty hard for me to do with this double dog leash. I try to think about different ways that I could do lifecycle testing on it, but there's not much I could do. The best I could do is what I did in the last question where I just yanked on the different hinges to make sure that even if this got a lot of use from a lot of different big dogs that it still would hold up and not break. And I would say to the best of my knowledge and ability that this product with stands as many tests that I could throw at it. So I'm gonna say yes, next up is the product quality and overall, I would say that the quality is very good, it's not excellent. I mean it does feel like it's not the best quality product, but overall I'm happy with it. And the supplier communication was excellent. My supplier responded to my questions very quickly and the product feel after feeling this material, I would also say it's very good. The whole thing feels really nice. Even this thread that the dog leash is built on feels pretty nice quality and you can see it up close right here in this bottom right hand photo and I would say the product durability is very good. It feels like it's not gonna break easily. So as you can see these are general questions and a lot of them are not necessarily required for the double dog leash. But we just wanted to give you a place to start when you're evaluating the quality of your sample. And in the next video we're going to get very specific and have you create your own criteria that's specific to your product. But for now let's finish answering these questions. Could you add a size variation? Now, technically you could, you could offer a smaller one for smaller dogs and a bigger leash for bigger dogs. But I don't think that would be worth it. I mean this product seems like it would hold up for some really big dogs, but it would also work for smaller dogs. So with the double dog leash, I don't think it makes sense to add a size variation. Now, what I could easily do is add a color variation. So let's say in the future this double dog leash is selling well and I want to start selling a bright red one or a pink one. That's definitely a possibility. And could you offer premium quality for example, an IPhone eight versus an IPhone 10 with the double dog leash? I don't think so. I don't think it would make sense to offer a really high quality dog leash versus and not as high quality dog leash, it really seems like this product is gonna do the trick. So I'm gonna say no and that's it. So now we've evaluated the product sample using our general sample questions. Now you're gonna want to walk through all these questions with each of your three product samples and this should give you a good idea of what you should be looking for. And also allow you to quickly compare the quality of each of your three samples. And very often when you order two or three product samples right away, there's gonna be one clear winner. It's going to be obvious which supplier you're going to choose. But sometimes it's not going to be so obvious. And hopefully these questions will give you a good idea about how to compare your different product samples, pause this video now and go evaluate the quality of your samples using our general sample criteria. In this video, you evaluated the quality of your samples using our general sample criteria. In the next video, you're going to create product criteria that's specific to your product.
