My Thoughts on USB Microphones
But what about USB microphones. So if you have a USB mic, then you don't necessarily need a new interface because this USB mic already has an analog digital converter on it. However, in my experience, the audio's gonna sound a lot better if you have an XL microphone and A U and an audio interface rather than just a USB mic USB mics are just not quite there. If you have a dedicated box that converts the analog signal to a digital signal and an XL microphone, it's just gonna sound better than a USB mic. So yes, a USB mic can be useful if you don't want to order the interface. But no, it doesn't sound as good. Maybe in a few years, it will. But right now USB mic just not as good as using an Excel mic and going into a high quality audio interface.
